I am 25 years old, have suffered form adult acne since i was about 14 and had been experiencing lower abdominal pain on my left side for several years. In the last couple of years, I started experiencing hot flashes accompanied by moderate-severe anxiety and depression. Just as an aside, I studied psychology for several years and have earned, not only my bachelors in psych, but also several certifications and honors surrounding my degree ( I start my masters in a couple of months!).
Hello ladies, I am 31 years old and 18 weeks into my first pregnancy. I have had very mild adult acne for the past 5 years or so but with this pregnancy it has gone from mild to I don't even want to show my face severe. Can anyone offer any remedies? I follow a daily skin regimen and have never had this issue like this before, all the moms at work say the same thing: it's just hormones.
Months of picking and pulling hair out the and seems to finally be gone. My problem now, I still notice hair under my skin. I mentioned to my Derm and she said it's adult acne. I can see this one my skin! I have pulled the hair out! Sometimes it's a hair from my hairline that has worked it's way under my skin other times a hair just lays on my skin and it literally seems to work it's way in. This is no parasite this is not margello. Lately I noticed very fine hair under my skin.
i have gone to numerous doctors and dermatologists but no on knows whats wrong. alnog with this, my acne just keeps getting worse. every time i use a cream for the acne, my skin burns, and if i let of with the treatment, my acne gets worse. I have always taken pristine care of my skin. I am a very health conscious eater, and drink plenty of water. I do not consume alcohol or caffeine on a regular basis. I protect my skin with a natural 50 spf religiously. I cleanse with a completely chemical free cleanser, and moisturize regularly with unprocessed virgin coconut oil. I never moisturize with products containing mineral oil, fragrances, propylene glycol, etc.
Hi. My skin has always been clear but about six months ago I got acne. The acne on my face keeps spreading. It's starts off as very small bumps on my face which later get red and swell a little. I also have lots of whiteheads and my acne. I've tried tratree oil and niacinamida and none of them seem to work. Any ideas to what to put on my face?
Can anyone recommend an acne treatment for those cystic acne bumps that take forever to go away? I'm 46 and did Accutane in my 20s with pretty good results until the last several years. I've had the most success with Pro Active, but my skin got really itchy when I wore mineral powder makeup and I kept ruining towels, pillowcases and shirts. I've also tried Acne Free, Murad and Dermatologic plus prescription cream with no luck.
She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone. Because I am ruining my skin, I asked my Gyno if I could be put on a low-dose birth control pill in addition to my IUD (Mirena) and she said no. She also said that my acne could be worse because of the IUD. (For the past 2 mos. I was also on Methyltesto 2.5 mg, but I am stopping immediately because I think this is a culprit).
I am a 19 year old teenager facing severe hormonal acne. I have been to a dermatologist a couple of times and have taken several kind of medications. I have also tried to completely fix my diet through drinking detox water, avoiding fatty acids and eating healthy. My acne has become resistant to treatment and isn't improving and I am worried about the scars.
The treatment includes isotretinion, topical clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide and retinoids.
I have some pimples here and there as well and I am using benzoyl proxide to treat the pimples. I asked my ob about it and she said it's okay and it works for me.
The ketoconazole burned my skin and didnt help, and the zinc soap does not help much either. I came back to her and she confirmed it is adult acne and some kind of dermatitis which cannot be cured. Dermatologist told me to try vegetarian diet and drink a lot of water, cut out carbs, sugar, diary. But this did not help.
She tell me isotretinoin will most likely help my skin but the side effects are too dangerous so she is refusing to prescribe.
Thank you. We had her adrenal glands tested with a blood test and it came back normal. The pediatrician will check on her height/weight within 6 months. However, at her last checkup these were normal.
The acne is still quite present. I tried a salicylic acid based creme from the dermatologist for 2 wks. It didn't work. I am now trying a benzoyl peroxide cream.
I have never had a problem with acne or any type of pimples on my face, however, after the birth of my third child 2 years ago I have bad skin. My face is constantly greasy and I get white heads all over my fourhead and chin constantly. I also have a wierd rash like bumps all over my fourhead that will not go away. My physician put me on three differenty types of antibiotics, retin A and nothing has even come close to clearing it up.
I am a relatively healthy 25 year old female. I have had acne since I was maybe 12 or 13. Extremely sensitive skin- adverse reactions to salicylic acid and anything higher than a 2% benzoyl peroxide. Have tried differin, retin-a, duac, also natural solutions such as tea tree oil, lemon, honey, coconut, eggs, yogurt, witch hazel. Also have tried systems such as proactiv and muriad to no avail.
I dont talk to them that much either. I dont want to bother them because I know that they are busy. I call my mom once a week. I dont talk to my kids that often. Its a weird situation that parents are put into. We teach our kids to be out on their own while at the same time wishing they would never leave us. But we know that they have to leave to have full healthy lives. When I do forget to call my mom, its usually because Im really busy or Im really tired.

I switched from Armour in Jan of 2011 and since then I started having breakouts on my face. I've been to 3 dermatologist and some say rosacia, adult acne ect... I since then been ruling out stuff and no matter what I do it still in full force. I've been on antibotics - creams - retina - and nothing seems to be working. I never had issues with my skin prior to this and now I have dark brown spots all over my face because of it.
I am in the same boat as you - i started getting acne when i was 21 which i though was a little odd. My dermatologist told me it is common in adult females as it is usually hormonal; however, i refuse to take birth control because i believe the harmful effects outweigh the benefits. I am on perscription to calm the inflammation but for more of a sustainable long-term solution it is important to focus on a low glycemic diet as refined sugars tend to effect hormones.
