Sounds strange, but that is the way it is. The lady at the store thought I was crazy when I bought her a new Menorah for Christmas. It made perfect sence to us. My boys are excited about celebrating Chanukah with her this year!

He turned 88 yesterday. I came over bearing gifts and enjoyed doing that, but his response of course was typical of someone in the later stages of Alzheimer's. What I took away yesterday was thinking about how he is totally unaware of all it takes to maintain his safety/well-being and how like a child that is.

My boyfriend HATES THE idea of them being homemade, and rather I just buy prepackaged ones (like Pilsbury or Tollhouse) but I LOVE making them homemade for Christmas, especially because it's a great way to spend time with our 5yr old. Anyone think I should go ahead & make some for them while I'm at it? Just get them something different like flowers? Or forget them all around?

I had my baby shower on Feb 7th and people are still giving me gifts for my baby boy. I'm due March 30th and my baby have clothes from New born until 3 yr and over 20 pares of shoes. I thank God for blessing me. But I'm a little worried because I'm running out of space for my baby stuff should I tell everyone to stop giving me gifts and I don't need them because he has a lot of clothes bottles shoes etc. Already? Or should I just except the gifts ?

My friends are trying to give me one,but I keep declining them. My reason is I had a lot of help with the first two, and I want to do this one on my own. I see nothing wrong with having a 2nd one. It's totally left up to you.

t really want a babyshower I just feel like I can afford to buy everything right now for myself so why wait around on gifts?? My mom and boyfriend tell me that I'm being rude and offending people buy not including them in the baby process but I feel like I got pregnant and its my responsibility to take care of her.

Proper etiquette would dictate that you do not throw a party for yourself where you ask for gifts. If you choose to follow that, an alternative would be a meet the baby party after the baby is born. People will likely be bearing gifts but it wouldn't be like you were asking for them. Things like bridal showers and baby showers are something others typically host for you. However, the only people that may comment if you throw your own shower are those that follow these rules.

t have to ask for gifts. I think that is why ppl get annoyed with more than one shower b/c the 1st baby shower is to get you ready for having babies (not just your first baby but future babies) so some ppl hear shower and think that you are expecting them to buy those gifts again... A gender reveal you are just having a fun way of telling the babies gender...

Well I have quite a large family too & I doubt they expect anything I just don't want to feel bad. I thought about doing some baking also because I'm due on December 3!

We got my husband a tool set that he wanted but i wanted at least another small thing that he doesnt know about as a surprise and i really dont know what to buy. I mentioned a sweater or hoodie last time and he said enough. I dont want to buy something he wont use or need...

My DIL is having a baby shower in late June and I'm having a terrible time thinking of what kind of gift to get him/her. They have registered with "Babies R Us" but I really wanted to get them something different, along with a few practical things. My daughter is making a quilt and I have been thinking about making a wall hanging or a decorative pillow.
