486831 tn?1209148864 Well - I had surgery on Monday. It looks like it was endometriosis. Had to do a full hysterectomy. Oh well - It WASN"T CANCER! Yippie! Of course they will do more in depth biopsy and that will take a few weeks. But doc said he was pretty confident. In a little bit of pain mostly in the shoulders from the laproscopy, but other than that doing well. I want to thank each and everyone on this board for their support, advice and encouragment. It's meant so much.
Avatar f tn s given me is that taking out one will mean one week recuperation vs. two if both are removed. Any benefit of just removing one (other than recupe time?) that anyone knows of?
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a LSH ?? I was wondering about the recuperation time, length of surgery etc.... anything I need to know ? Thanks for all your help.
Avatar n tn ) I have had 2 deep ab surgerys including a hysterectomy. Since then I have seen 3 other reconstruction surgeons who said that it would be too hard and wouldn't touch it-So my question is, Am I just to resign myself to be mutilated for life or is there any hope for me? Thanks in advance for any advice...
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy with the removal of my ovaries. during suregry the dr found I had severe endometriosis - I never knew I had endometriosis before the surgery. In addition to my female organs, my appendix, omentum and 12 inches of my small intestine were removed due to the severe nature of the endometriosis - they said my small intestine was almost completely twisted and closed whcih is why it needed to be removed. I am very thankful I do not have cancer.
Avatar f tn I am schedule to have a hysterectomy in a couple weeks, and my concern is will my stomach go back to normal? Will I gain weight? Should I diet during recovery. Can't afford to buy new clothing right now... Will my sex life remain exciting?
Avatar m tn This is nonsense in a cup. If you believe this I have a Brooklyn Bridge to sell you cheap.
Avatar m tn Retinal detachment surgery is major surgery, with a LONG recovery time. It may be 6 to 12 months before the final results of recovery of vision is obtained. Even if the retina is put back in place the vision may not return to pre-detachment levels.
Avatar f tn ve just had a total hysterectomy 6 weeks ago which required a 1 night stay in the hospital. I am progressively getting better but I'm not back to normal by any means. I've heard a lot of timeframes for getting back but it all depends on the person. If by out of commission you mean going back to work and stuff, then you can figure on the 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how you feel and depending on what your surgery entailed and depending on what you do for a living.
Avatar f tn Of those that have, would you consider your ablation successful? What was your ACTUAL recuperation time? Mine is not yet scheduled but I'm guessing it will be within the next 4-6 weeks. I would really appreciate your feedback!
217599 tn?1202850952 If he takes the medication as ordered, and only as needed for pain during the recuperation period, he shouldn't have a problem. Everyone is different, so it's difficult to say how long any one person has to take it before they become addicted, but in general, the recuperation period from surgery shouldn't be a problem as long as he follows the presciption instructions and doesn't adjust his own dosage and take more than he's supposed to at any one time.
Avatar f tn Access to the left side can then be done by threading the catheter through the overlap thus avoiding the puncture. Recuperation is much faster, and there is less pain afterwards. People who have had left side ablations done report short, sharp pain during the recuperation period. By contrast, I had only a dull ache for several weeks following my procedure. My AVRT required 17 connecting burns to bridge the wide conductive muscle tissue. I'm always around if you have any questions.

Avatar n tn I am being scheduled for a hysterectomy either this week or next. She was going to do a CT scan but decided that the ultrasound and vaginal ultrasound showed her enough to do the operation. Even though the oncologist was optimistic about it being benign I just can't help thinking that it may not be. I realize that the only way to tell for sure is during a biopsy. I am 69 years old so that ups the chance of malignancy I know. I am by nature a worrier who always thinks the worst.
Avatar m tn I think I am now mentally prepared for a large open incision type of surgery with the accompanying recuperation afterwards. I did want to lose weight but not this way. Now that I know what I am dealing with I can't wait to get it out of me. Does that sound funny? I just want to get this behind me. I will ask my gyn about removing my appendix at the same time as I am not sure I want to revisit this anytime soon.
Avatar m tn This procedure is much less invasive than the traditional open surgery, usually with a hospital stay of about 2-3 days and a recuperation period of a couple of weeks.... This procedure can only be performed on specific patients based on clinical criteria, and no long-term data exists regarding its effectiveness compared to open surgery. Open Surgical Repair: The traditional treatment technique involves opening the chest and surgical removing the dissected aorta.

Avatar f tn I would say: yes you have erectile dysfunction, but only temporary "due to the increase of activity and/or current health issues", to use your words. You don't mention your age, but for any man, "2-5 times a day" may be a bit too much to allow for proper recuperation.

Avatar m tn she should just take a pregnancy test to rule that out, but it's probably just her body going through the recuperation process very normal for a woman's cycle to be out of sorts after pregnancy.
Avatar f tn but in general, vague aches and pains during the recuperation phase from viral illness are not uncommon, and are usually nothing to be overly concerned about. I would certaitnly check myself for fever, as a fever will cause the symptoms you describe and could suggest the development of bacterial infection such as pneumonia.
Avatar n tn t know if going back to this type of work is possible after having these things put in my spine--as far as I know, my surgeon said II will not have any restrictions after my recuperation period which is supposed to be four to eight weeks.
