hysterectomy

Avatar n tn I am 12 days post-op from rectocele surgery and still having some discomfort with my stitches. How long should I expect this to continue? No blood flow anymore just a very little bit of discharge. This discussion is related to After rectocele surgery.
Avatar f tn In 2004, she got detected of Ovarian cyst again and got her hysterectomy done. now after almost 12yrs of her operation, she is having excessive fluid coming out of her vaniga and she is becoming very weak. Can you please suggest, what may be the cause and also the way of recovery?
Avatar n tn It takes several weeks for your body to heal after a hysterectomy so it's best to follow the Drs orders. Take things slow and get plenty of rest.
Avatar m tn I am so fed up with insurance companies they just make me sick thinking that they know best. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy (Uterus, tubes, ovaries) on June 28. At the same time they removed a 20lb 30 cm ovarian cyst that had adhesions attached to intestines and right kidney. On June 29 I received a call in the hospital from my std insurance company...needless to say I wasn't in form to return the call immediately. On June 30 they wanted to discharge me from the hospital.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy 4 weeks ago still feel pain and I have brownish discharge is that normal ?
Avatar f tn Tiredness was my worst symptom!! But you defintely need to take it easy..unfortunately I had 3 surgeries 2 with the hysterectomy and 1 a week later but my incision took 8-10 weeks to heal...the norm is 4-6 but I know the insides need to heal alot longer..just when you feel good and do too much than you realize your quite not there yet..so please take this time to recover rather than end up doing something that can cause more damage..the Doctor will give you the clearance to exercise again..
Avatar n tn I am seeing a urogyno for rectocele plus fibroids which have returned after being removed less than 12 months ago, so possible hysterectomy. I was told 3 weeks recovery and I could return to work. I am a teacher and tend to be on my feet all day moving around the classroom, plus my classes are not always in the same room, so I walk around the school as well. I am going to give myself the full 8 weeks to recover. Again, thank you for sharing and wishing you well in your continued recovery.
Avatar f tn The odor is a normal part of discharge after a hysterectomy I was scared about that too. I did go for a 2 week check up and made them check my urine to ease my mind and it was the NORMAL discharge and odor. :) My doctors have had their share of calls from me and MY HUBBY. LOL They are getting OUR MONEY so USE THEM. LOL I get different pains and discomforts off and on and none of us know just what we're suppose to be feeling, because we haven't been through this before.
Avatar m tn A lot of women prefer to keep their cervix as they believe it helps in achieving sexual satisfaction although this is open to debate with many doctors saying it has no effect. This type of hysterectomy is easier to perform with quicker recovery as less tissue is being removed. If your cervix is left behind you will still need to have pap smears. Leaving your ovaries behind is also beneficial as you will not experience an instant menopause.
Avatar f tn ll be able to better advise you (this is a forum for pelvic organ prolapse, and although sometimes women have a hysterectomy as part of a POP procedure, the issues with POP and hysterectomy/fistula are very different. Someone should be able to address your concerns and you should be able to find quite a bit of useful information about hysterectomy in general in this forum. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I am a 36 year old who had to have a hysterectomy 8 years ago due to uncontrollable bleeding.. partial hysterectomy.. my ovaries, tubes, and part of my uterus are still intact.. cervix is gone.. factory closed.. haha.... recently I have had tremendous pains in the lower left quadrant of my abdomen, and this as of late coincides with bleeding vaginally.. bright red blood, so it's not "old" blood..
Avatar n tn i have had a hysterectomy, approx. 1 week ago. I had a vaginal hyst. that kinda went wrong, I hemmoraged thru my stitches and had to b rushed back to surgery. Now i am home and dont feel any better still alot of pain, bloody discharge, very lightheaded when iu stand up, nausea, back pains, leg cramps, and other small things. Avatar f tn Removing ovaries is not a hysterectomy...it's an oophortectomy. Hysterectomy is removal of the uterus. I'm not sure exactly what your doctor is recommending, what tests were performed, or what the surgery recommendation is based upon. Ovaries can be removed laparoscopically by small incisions or by open incision (laparotomy).
Avatar f tn I had a partial hysterectomy just under 3 weeks ago, and i was just wondering how much walking is too much? I am only going for short walks at the moment, but feel i would be able to go for longer walks, but am afraid i might push myself too hard. any advice would be helpful, thanks.
1510783 tn?1290096307 I am scheduled to have a partial Hysterctomy because I've been diagnosed with Andemyosis. on December 15th (just my uterus will be removed, so far). What can I expect in regards to pain, recovery time and emotions. I've had my tubes tied for 4 years so I am fine about not having any more children. My doctor is not sure if she has to cut me or go vaginally. I am a little nervous and scared about this major procedure. Any feeback would be greatly appreciated. I am 38 years old.
Avatar n tn I lost 6 pins of blood. my recovery was going quite well until a few days ago when a brownish discharge began, quite prolific at times. My Docter prescribed antibiotics, but the discharge is smelly now.
Avatar n tn Will having a hysterectomy eliminate excessive daily clear watery discharge?
1260611 tn?1271241731 No fever, no further discharge, What is cause of this discharge. Waiting to see if cyst and pain comes back with next cycle.
Avatar n tn i have a milky yellowish discharge from my penis. i am not experiencing burning when i urinate or pains. just the discharge. should i go ahead and get treated for gonnoreha or should i waste more time and get tested first?
1800740 tn?1324237171 I went to the surgeon/ gynecologist that performed my hysterectomy. After a painful internal exam & urine check he said my urine was fine and he only saw a swollen gland inside of me which he wasn't going to treat. He said to come back immediately if I experience any bleeding. I am still waiting on the results of the pap smear done by my family physician a week ago.
Avatar f tn I have had a persistent smelly rusty coloured discharge for the last 5 years post hysterectomy. All tests are negative and a CT scan shows nothing. I don’t know where to go with this, any ideas please?
Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy done back in March of this year. I was bleeding after the surgery for about 5wks before I really knew anything could be wrong. I went back in and they found that there was a stitch that had not dissolved. They removed one half of the stitch cause they couldn't get the other half out. After removing the half of stitch they found out it was actually a non dissolving stitch and will never go away. Since then I have sharp pains that kinda come and go.
Avatar f tn Hysterectomy 8 years ago. No cervix. Non smelling brown discharge, sharp pelvic pain. No sexual partners. No pelvic exam after hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn I had a partial hysterectomy four years ago. Ever since my hysterectomy I seem to get a watery discharge. Gynae puts me on antibiotics goes away for a while and comes back a few months later. The discharge is clear and there is no odour or pain on itch.
Avatar m tn I had a vaginal hysterectomy 8 years ago was great for me and I had a quick recovery. Surgeries change throughout the years. Laparoscopic surgery is great as well as the healing time is much quicker. Myself, I would go laparoscopic as it is a much faster recovery as I stated before. But I would definite talk to you gyn first. Good luck.
Avatar f tn If I have a hysterectomy, seeing how I had my tubes cut and they remove my uterus will I still have monthly periods? Also, we are going on a cruise in Oct, will I be complete healed by then? Thanks for your time.
