Hysterectomy questions to ask

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy questions to ask

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn I always had problems with remembering what I planned on asking the doctor too. One day I just pulled out my list of questions that I had meant to ask but couldn't remember and my doctor actually said he was glad that I had written them down. It saves them time while we are trying to remember, plus they don't have to deal with us calling later because we remembered something we had forgotten to ask.

Avatar m tn t discuss the hysterectomy together alone, ask her to go with you to an appointment with her doctor, and ask the questions of him while she is in the room. If she refuses, I would suspect she had the hysterectomy for a more complicated reason.
Avatar f tn I have done a lot of research but want to know any and all the questions I should ask before having surgery. I also want to know if a urogynecologist might be better than a gynecologist. What are the questions I should ask a surgeon? How do I know who is best to do it?

Avatar f tn He says he will use the mesh sling to hold up the bladder. I ask about the law suits with bladder meshes. He said this kind is different. Worried about having surgery now. I need to have urinary catheter, was wondering how long it needs to stay in?
1046985 tn?1305117048 In the past 9 weeks, I have had numerous episodes of this excrutiating pain, and have been stuck in bed with megadoses of pain relief and heatpacks(the only thing that gives me some sort of relief). A couple of times I have wanted to go back to ER, but am to scared to, as once in hospital they don't give me enough pain relief, though no meds stop the pain.

Avatar m tn My wie is scheduled for a hysterectomy. The doctor is going to use arthroscopic surgery to remove the uterus, one ovary and fallopian tune, and part of the cervix. My wife had me go to the last doctor's appointment with her, and we got most questions answered, but I was a little sheepish to ask--How long will it be before we can try to have intercourse? Certainly, if my wife has pain or discomfort, we won't try, or will stop.
Avatar n tn If you did you could have remnant ovarie tissue that has cysts.. you need to ask more questions... I hope you find the answers...
Avatar n tn Please list some! I go to my appointments with no questions. I feel like I need to make a list and just check off, but I have bo clue. This is my first baby.
Avatar f tn After my official diagnosis (see how pessimistic I am!) what questions should I ask? My husband had lung cancer, which metatastised to brain, bone, spine, and liver, and emphysema. He passed away 2 years ago, which has added to my stress. I have treied to quit smoking several times in the past, to no avail. I know that is the biggie to do, but what else? I have educated myself on-line as much as I can, but there isn't a lot of info out there to help in practical matters.
Avatar f tn It's difficult to say what someone should ask ....... whatever concerns her is what she should ask about. It's a good idea to write down any questions before a person sees the Dr. so nothing is forgotten. I'm guessing that you will be going with her which is also a good idea; an extra pair of ears can be very valuable as we often miss something that is said. I think she will have more questions after she sees the Surgeon and is advised as to the next step in the process.
Avatar f tn Hello every one ..so have a few questions to ask you. Ok so I've been with my bf for 4 years and we talked about marriage and children yesterday. And he said in about 8 years which would put him at 31 and me at 29 ...and I certainly do not want to wait that long. I want one by atleast 25 and married. How could we compromise.
329165 tn?1515471990 Hi all, I have a consult with the Surgeon in Adelaide (not the retired Surgeon, but his Associate) next week about getting a date for the Nissen Fund. and I have all my previous scopes and reports and everything ready and a bit anxious about it all when I read on here about people wanting to reverse Nissen Funds and complications and going for 3rd and 4th time!
Avatar f tn ) Tomorrow is my ultrasound and up to this point I have no details on my baby. Besides edd. What are good questions to ask as far as my babys growth and development?
Avatar m tn t had my eyes looked at since July) and I just thought it perhaps worth brainstroming to see what some sensible questions to ask her might be. My inclination at present is not to ask too much and just to let her get on with it. History if you remember - RD right eye 14 months ago following PVD. Aphakic in both eyes following complicated congenital cataract surgery. Brilliant outcome so far with the RD - no vision lost whatsoever and all entirely stable.
Avatar f tn So, we have to leave by 6am to get there for an 8am appt. Is there any advice as to questions I should ask? Tests? I just want to try to make the most of this appt since I am having to travel. Luckily my husband took the day off to go with me. I know there is a HUGE difference between the doctors in cols vs cincy. My husband sees a neuro at the univ cincy that I think walks on water, just absolutely incredible!
1529957 tn?1291924276 It would be probably a good idea to ask dr, it may very well just be your body chemistry changed, kind of like some people have foot odor and some dont, I really didnt mean to imply your not healthy by thinking it may be an infection and i deffinatley did not mean a std, just possibly thought a standard bacterial infection. Your Dr could check for that by a cbc test.
Avatar f tn They have scheduled me for preop test Thursday surgery Fri morning. I have to decide whether to keep the left ovaries , I am worried about if whatever caused my body to do this will decide to attack the next one. I can't do this surgery twice! If they find something when they test it will they wait til this heals or if needed can they go back in before I heal so don't go thru it twice? What is menopause like? Do you know anyone who took the hormones? Side effects?
