Hysterectomy laparoscopy

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy laparoscopy

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn However, most of the women in my family have had cervical cancer, and while that does put them at higher risk for vaginal cancer none of them have had a single abnormal result after getting their hysterectomy. So keep in mind that a hysterectomy can be very very effective. That being said, I have never heard of a biopsy making a tumor (cancerous or non) grow worse than it would otherwise.
Avatar f tn I am 44 yrs old, have never had children, been physically disabled (due primarily to pain and severe fatigue) with no quality of life for almost a year, have been suffering with progressively worsening pelvic pain which has become almost unbearable, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis, and am seeing an Ob/Gyn today about his experience with treating women via surgical hysterectomy...I'd appreciate some feedback on how a hysterectomy has helped your life.
Avatar f tn I had a laparoscopy hysterectomy 5 days ago and came home day two I am extremely bloated and although not eating a lot drinking plenty but the gas doesn’t seem to be dissipating at all. Is it to early to expect it to have gone or even reduced by now? The gas pain is far worse than the op itself with shoulder tip pain being the worse I was told to expect this do not to concerned about it but just feel so blown up. Eating seems to make it worse. Any advice would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn In 1994, she was first detected for ovarian cyst and got her laparoscopy done. In 2004, she got detected of Ovarian cyst again and got her hysterectomy done. now after almost 12yrs of her operation, she is having excessive fluid coming out of her vaniga and she is becoming very weak. Can you please suggest, what may be the cause and also the way of recovery?
Avatar f tn I had a laparoscopy with right ovarian cyst, ovary and tube removal. The pathology report returned with the endometrial ovarian cancer 1.1, graded 1c. No mets noticed. Surgeon sugested the total hysterectomy with uterus, left ovary and tube, lymphnodes and abdominal fat removal. Very emotional. can somebody gime me advise what to do?
Avatar f tn I had laparoscopy surgery done about 8 weeks ago. I actually went in to have a cyst removed, but the cyst had already ruptured, but they found endometriosis. I have hurt and hurt and I still hurt. I go tomorrow to my ob to discuss further options. At my 2 week post op, he mentioned about the Lupron shot which I do NOT want to take for various reasons. I hurt mainly on my right ovary, but when he did the lap. he said my ovaries looked fine.
Avatar f tn Marci, Hi, yes it is normal. You are swollen from the surgery. Did you have your surgery done by laparoscopy? You had major surgery so give yourself more time. I've just had a total hysterectomy via laparoscopy and tried to wear my jeans after 3 weeks and they were so uncomfortable. Now, at almost 6 weeks, I notice it is lots better. A year and a half before my hysto I'd had my right ovary/cyst and tube removed and it took a while for the swelling to go down.
Avatar f tn I forgot to ask doctor..but figured here would be better. With laparoscopy..are you admitted or is it same day surgery? How long can I expected to be out of commission if it goes well without complications? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Hi, I had pelvic pain for 2 months, now gone, ultrasound showed a lesion at the vaginal vault which appears to be a hydrosalpinx. My gynacolagist wants to do a laparoscopy to gain histological diagnosis & removal. I had a abdominal hysterectomy 10 years ago leaving my tubes and ovaries. I am reluctant to have this surgery as the pain is now gone and it is going to take 6 months before the hospital can do this surgery. Is it likely to resolve if it is a hydrosalpinx?
Avatar f tn i had total hysterectomy done on Sept. 1, 2010. The procedure was a da Vinci laparoscopy or a robot assisted lap. and the uterus was removed thru the vagina. I had D& C thru the same procedure done on Feb. 22. 2010 and never had any problems after that but the second one, the hysterectomy, i'm experiencing severe spasms and pain on the left side of the stomach. The pain is described as squeezing, tightening feeling that never stops.
Avatar f tn Removing ovaries is not a hysterectomy...it's an oophortectomy. Hysterectomy is removal of the uterus. I'm not sure exactly what your doctor is recommending, what tests were performed, or what the surgery recommendation is based upon. Ovaries can be removed laparoscopically by small incisions or by open incision (laparotomy).
Avatar f tn re ripping apart, it sounds like adhesions. Have they done a laparoscopy to rule that out? My first adhesion was after my first c-section, my uterus attached to my colon and it did feel like it was ripping with each step, especially on inclines or steps. After my hysterectomy the pain was so bad, I couldn't have anything touch the spot where it hurt, including water from the shower. However, they kept putting me off and I didn't have the laparoscopy for 5 months afterwards.
605458 tn?1539228808 I was just diagnosed by laparoscopy with stage IV endometriosis, adhesions, endometriomas on both ovaries, etc. I'm betting I've been suffering from its existence long before I actually had the severe pain that sent me to the ER every time I had a period because I'd been to doctors with chronic bowel problems and distention and was diagnosed with IBS, which has very much improved since some adhesions and the cysts were taken care of during laparoscopy.
Avatar f tn I need to get a second opinion since my OBGYN seems to think my only option is a total hysterectomy. Due to my current issues, I am seeing a GI doctor and will have another colonoscopy done. Please help me find another option! I live in St. Louis, MO.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am getting Horrible lower right side pain with my period. I have had this happen the last few cycles. I also get it on and off throughout the month but nothing like during my period. I have a 2cm complex cyst on my right ovary and my uterus is about the size of if i was 2 1/2 months pregnant. I am scheduled for a Histeroscopy with D&C and a Laparoscopy in about a weeks time as i am moving and he wants to check me out before i leave just incase its something that needs taken care of.
Avatar n tn For a 1cm dermoid they can perform laparoscopy which has a very short recovery period (sometimes days). Look up more info on laparoscopy on this forum and online for more info. Good luck!
Avatar n tn C and was told I had fibroids and I should have an hysterectomy. I refused. I have only been pregnant once and that end with an abortion in 1973 when I was 23. I was never able to get pregnant and was told I had scaring on tubes by a laparoscopy I was only on birth control for 2 year in my early twenties and was not on anything for over 30 years. When I started going through menopause I had all typical symptoms, night sweats, lack of sleep, decreased sex drive, hot flashes (every 8 mintues).
Avatar n tn Hello. I am 40, have all the kids I want, and have a 10cm septated cyst on left ovary. The gyn/oncologist wants to remove the cyst with ovary and the uterus through vaginal laparoscopy. Forgive this, but I don't want to give up uterine orgasms, and given the CA-125 is 15, the cyst looks mostly simple (one thin septation, no solid areas), I am wondering why I would need to have the uterus removed.
Avatar f tn I have tried treatment for it and I had the laparoscopy done 1 year ago. I know about the hysterectomy and its risks how u go right into menopause.
