Hysterectomy laparoscopic robotic

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy laparoscopic robotic

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn what are the side effects if any and do you feel that is a safe way to deal with my medical problem? Originally before I had my hysterectomy I had asked my GYN about robotic surgery for my hysterectomy and he stated that he would never suggest it being done that way, he didn't believe in it and now over a year later he is suggesting it ? Can you give me some statistics on this type of surgery? I have asked you questions before and I am confident that you will give me good advice.
Avatar f tn m curious what type of hysterectomy you had - robotic, laparoscopic, abdominal, vaginal? Has the back pain improved?
Avatar f tn So last month on September 29, 2022 I had Robotic assisted laparoscopic lysis of adhesions/ Robotic assisted laparoscopic right ovarian cystectomy/ Robotic assisted laparoscopic left tuboplasty/ Robotic assisted laparoscopic peritoneal boipsy Chromotubation done. Everything went great. My cyst was removed, my fallopian tube was cleared of all blockages. So now we are finally TTC again. I took a pregnancy test 5 days ago and it was negative but I'm a day late on my period.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had the DiVinci machine for a hysterectomy? How long was recovery? How did it go?
Avatar n tn I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 3 days ago and have noticed a rash near the incisions...not directly on the incisions. Also, there is a similar rash under my breasts and along my c-section scar (from 25 years ago). I used to have severe problems with hives many years ago, but have not had the problem lately. I'm hoping this is not a return of same....or something more problematic. Please advise. So far, there is no itching, but it's very red.
Avatar m tn I also have had both a vaginal pop repair sutures only...as well as a Robotic-assisted laparoscopic mesh sacrocolpopexy...not all at once...first the hysterectomy with ovaries removed...for endometriosis...which it DID NOT cure! then I had the other surgeries...thanks to endo and taking out my organs...my pelvic floor structure is so weak...and I am now 8 abdominal/pelvic floor surgeries in...I am happy with my Robotic-assisted laparoscopic mesh sacrocolpopexy...
Avatar n tn When I had my hysterectomy, my gynecologist took the works out. I'm talking the ovaries (well one, I had the other one removed last Dec.), uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes. The procedure he used was called lavh, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy. I feel a lot better for it though. For me, I have a family history cervical and uterine cancer, which why the gynecologist took out everything. From what I understand though, there are other cancers us women can get.
Avatar m tn the first sense may be somewhat easy to answer, there is likely no difference in what the patient actually feels afterwards. The main advantage of laparoscopic and robotic is the reduction in bleeding and hospitalization/recovery time.
Avatar f tn s eleven days post op with a hysterectomy, ovary and tube removal, and a sacrocolpopexy through the davinci robotic laparoscopic method. I returned to work yesterday as an accountant and worked for six hours. Lots of abdominal discomfort last night, some pressure, and what appeared to be some blood in my urine (pinkish color). My family thinks I'm pushing it. What do you think.
Avatar f tn Sure, you will have pain but this sounds extreme. What method of surgery did you have - robotic, laparoscopic, abdominal??
922475 tn?1243962297 when you typr in your search dont just put Robotic hysterectomy, its actually called the "DaVinci Robotic Assisted Hysterectomy questions like how quick are hypothertical, never speculate as to what could happen,.
Avatar f tn Hey has anyone had a robotic Hernia surgery done before? I have two inguinal hernias and I wanted to know if the recovery time is quicker than a traditional laparoscopic? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I had a robotic assisted hysterectomy on June 26. My main complaint was lower back pain. The doctor said it was due to tilted uterus and endeometrosis. When she went it she said I had a lot of scar tissue that she removed (two previous endometriosis surgeries and a C-section). My back pain is still there and I actually feel worse. I know it is only two weeks post op. Anyone having this problem?
1053613 tn?1255987994 I did see the surgery on youtube....look for da vinci robotic hysterectomy. Very high tech. Im worried after reading some of the posts. There are so many complications that can arise after surgery. Hoping the robotic assisted will eliminate some complications. Love to hear from ya all.
Avatar n tn I am scheduled for a laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy in 4 days. I started my period and will be on the light days at the end by the time i have surgery. Is this a contraindication for proceeding with the surgery or can this procedure occur at any time during the menstrual cycle?
Avatar f tn My MD is fantastic, and has offered many options but it seems my best ones are either a) hysteroscopic myomectomy with HTA endometrial ablation, or b) laparoscopic DaVinci hysterectomy. Of course, I can't decide! On the one hand, with multiple fibroids, some of which are actively bleeding, the recurrence rate is high once they are cut out, and I am likely still many years away from menopause hysterectomy seems like an appealing final solution to my problems.
Avatar n tn I had severe endo with adhesions removed during my robotic laparoscopic total hysterectomy. I had that done Oct 15th. I don't know how old you are so it is difficult to suggest something like this. I am 45, never was able to have children, so it was the right thing for me to do. My doc said the only sure fire way to get rid of endometriosis is removal of the ovaries. That is the source of estrogen which feeds the endo. But let me tell you, surgical menopause is no picnic.
922475 tn?1243962297 Newly diagnosed with uterine cancer... can a laparoscopic hysterectomy be done with this problem? Does it require being cut from side to side? Just wondering... would like to not have a huge wound site.
1318296 tn?1274808023 30 AM. I am having a robotic assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy. If all goes well I will be in and out the same day. If not . . . well not sure. I will cross those bridges if I get to them and hopefully . . . I won't. I have heard that positive thoughts are good in these cases, so please keep me in your thoughts next Tuesday early.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry you are still in pain. It's surprising how many doctors want to "wash their hands" of us after surgery. Do you have a primary care doctor you can see? I'm curious what type of hysterectomy you had - robotic, laparoscopic? I assume one of those "less invasive" (fewer incisions) methods since you went back to work so quickly. I hope this pain resolves soon!
Avatar m tn The robot is a modification of the laparoscopic procedure. The advantage of the laparoscopic procedure is that it is less bloody and the recovery time is quicker. If you look only at oncologic outcomes (extirpation of disease), then there is no difference. Ultimately of course, it will also be a logistics question. If you don't have easy access to both, then you may have to choose based on what is readily available to you.
Avatar n tn Surgery was a huge success! Dr. Giselle Ghurani at Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (Finkler's group) is brilliant, compassionate, yet cool and hip. I loved having a woman doctor - much more gentle with my virgin surgery body. Removed cantaloupe-sized tumor encasing right ovary, larger than originally thought. I have pictures - but don't want to scare the children! She video taped the surgery for me too. Tennis ball-sized fibroid on uterus. Both benign as expected. 2% malignancy rate.
Avatar f tn , then your heart may have a problem with you being tilted backward for robotic or laparoscopic prolapse repair surgery. In this case, there are vaginally performed surgeries which can correct your prolapse. These include sacrospinous fixation, or uterosacral suspension with anterior/posterior repair, both performed vaginally, with sutures(stitches). Also, the abdominal sacrocolpopexy can be performed in about 1.
Avatar f tn Surgical recovery time is typically 6 to 8 weeks although they claim it is shorter with laparoscopic and robotic methods. But the same amount of cutting is done internally...just don't have as much incision healing. But severe pain at 3 weeks post-op doesn't seem normal. I never had severe pain from my surgery. You should call your surgeon's office. What method of surgery was used?
