Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy journey

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn Not that i have heard. a hysterectomy causes early menopause which could give u pregnancy symptoms.
Avatar f tn m not trying to brush you off on another forum, but I think you might have a better response as far as the pros and cons of a prophylactic hysterectomy if you posted your question in the Hysterectomy forum. Great job on being proactive and going directly to a GYN/ONC to answer your concerns, though. Best wishes to you. I hope you find the answers for which you're searching.
Avatar f tn I am sorry you are suffering from both PCOS and endo that is leading you to hysterectomy. I assume you already know that hysterectomy is not a cure for the insulin resistance of PCOS or for endo. Some women do get relief, either temporary or permanent, but some don't (I don't know the percentages). I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago at age 49 - absolutely the WORST thing that has ever happened to me but I did not have a chronic pain condition.
4355200 tn?1354593144 I had to have a hysterectomy so I did this before I started. I also just wanted to deal with treatment and nothing else. Good luck on your journey. Everyone here on the forum is so helpful and really helped me sort things out especially at the beginning. It's nice to know there are knowledgeable ppl out there to help. And this forum has lots of knowledge to share. I'm not but as I get more experience with this treatment, I'm learning a lot.
Avatar n tn I have been dealing this for quite awhile now I've tried different birth controls, had many scrapings done, I'm now on lupron injections. I've had 2 so far but now my pain has gotten worse and I'm bleeding a lot. I've asked about a hysterectomy but i'm just not sure how i'm going to react to it. I'm 28 yrs old and done w/having kids. My tubes are tied too. Does a hysterectomy cause bone issues? Will i have to take hormone supplements?
Avatar m tn I expressed this to my doctor and he was willing to do a total hysterectomy on me, but he wants me to give the Seasonique a go before we proceed. He would do a full hysterectomy on me because of the endo, but my concern is that I simply do not want to age fast. I don't want to go through menopause and I heard sex gets weird after a hysterectomy. I don't want to be reliant on BC forever.
Avatar f tn am thinking after my IVF success can I have hysterectomy to remove my ovaries? hysterectomy is the best option?? I really don't want this pain its destroyed my life..I don't want to live this kind of pain I'am 29 years old I don't want to have pain till I'am 40,50,60 till I die?? I want to enjoy life :( I hate this disease, sorry I'am hopeless.
Avatar m tn I too have had a journey like hers...25 years of dealing with this disease and I had a hysterectomy with ovaries removed...but the endo was not excised so I ended up with my organs gluing back together 3 times (once before hysterectomy) twice after...seeing an endometriosis specialist is your best bet and the best thing to take from both of us who have had a very hard time with this disease because of dr.'s who should have referred us to specialists from the start...
Avatar f tn usually have to undergo hormonal thereaphy/hysterectomy...its called Complex Endometrial Hyperplasia with Atypia...somenthing i have never even heard of. Im 28 yrs old this shoudnt be happening to me just yet.
Avatar f tn By all means get a second opinion before the hysterectomy. The attitudes about hysterectomy vary from region to region and from city to the suburbs... I live in a smallish WI town where docs sound like the writer's doc- 'just take the darn thing out' is the usual comment in this 'neck of the woods'! And I admit to coming across many women over the years who were very grateful for 'the change'. BUT...
Avatar f tn I just recently had a complete hysterectomy on May 20/15. I have a follow with my specialist on June1/15, about HRT that he wants me to go on. I had a hysterectomy due to a polyp on my cervix, thickening of the lining and also endometriosis.
478429 tn?1265244387 I hope everyone can find hope and new information through my journey and help make their journey a little easier in finding relief. If anyone has any questions, feel free to send me a message!
Avatar f tn if I could go back one thing I would have NEVER done in this journey was the hysterectomy...they make it all seem so simple...no big deal...well it is a big deal because they are cutting the support system (ligaments), nerve and blood supply...
Avatar f tn I had a partial hysterectomy several years ago due to endometriosis. I would like to know a few things about whats left and where it is located. How thick is the vaginal wall where they sealed it off? Where are my ovaries now that my uterus is gone? Do I still have falopian tubes and where are they at now? Are my ovaries sealed off from my vagina? What is DIRECTLY above the vaginal wall where it was sealed up (where the uterus used to be)? Are there major veins above the vaginal wall?
7128540 tn?1399083912 s our little miracle, after 5 yrs of trying and just when the Dr wanted to schedule a hysterectomy due to other medical issues 5 wks later I was pregnant ((I cried and prayed my little ♡ out when the Dr suggested the hysterectomy)). God answered my prayer! So now I'm really really cautious about a lot of things, and when I started getting the sensation it scared me. However, in the past weeks I had felt lower back pain and the Dr mentioned the belt but further along.
1046985 tn?1305117048 Well its now 12 1/2 weeks since BSO, and have just been put off work for a further 4 weeks minimum, which will make 4 months total. Please anyone having ovaries removed, make sure you are prepared for surgical menopause. I wasn't, and was one of the rare few that basically just had a mental breakdown. I have been on HRT for 4 weeks and that has made a huge difference, and antidepressants for 8 weeks, which are still being adjusted.
Avatar f tn , spoke with the paper about her journey to diagnosis of the autoimmune condition Lupus. Her condition had taken so long to diagnose that subsequent progression had made the condition harder for doctors to treat. She died last week. Read the entire article today at daily mail uk.
Avatar f tn Hello, Im currently having tests for endo. I have an MRI scheduled for Monday to confirm. I have horrible spasm type pain with bowel movements that take my breath away. Also feel it with urination, but stronger with bowel movements. It hurts to sit on a chair too. Sex has become difficult as well. I'm sure it's going to be endo. I'm 45. I am thinking to ask for surgery ...hysterectomy since I'm done having kids.
7913733 tn?1407585433 I was telling my husband that i had 3 miscarriage and finally pregnant again and all i do is worry about hearing bad news i am thankful to Allah everything is going well but there is always that fear.
Avatar f tn On this journey, I have had lots of obstacles, up and downs, and just bad days in general. Things are looking up in my world so to speak and I am much happier again. I have several friends on here that have helped me so much. Probably more than they will ever know. Last night, I wrote some thoughts in my journal if anyone is interested because I was cleaning, and I had found them and I had forgot about them, well, I think we all forgot things like this, so I wanted to just remind everyone.
Avatar f tn I had severe endometriosis finally confirmed after I diagnosed it clear back in 2004...I had a complete hysterectomy with my ovaries removed and my endometriosis continued to destroy my pelvis...now 6 surgeries later I am doing better in regards to pain...but I still have pain every day...
