Hysterectomy in your 70s

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy in your 70s

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn The prevalence of hysterectomy makes us think it is a benign surgery but it is destructive in many ways (if you do not have cancer) and more so when the ovaries are removed since the ovaries of intact women produce hormones into their 80's for optimal health / normal aging. Medical studies clearly show the harm of ovary removal or post-hysterectomy ovarian failure. Hysterectomy changes the figure too as well as other things (such as bladder, bowel, and sexual function).
351724 tn?1267537018 can you still have a hysterectomy done if you get your period at the time of your hysterectomy ?
Avatar m tn A British man accidentally left his ageing mother-in-law in a Dover ferry port car park and only realised half way across to France, police said Wednesday. The man and his wife urgently called Port of Dover police after realising they had abandoned the elderly woman sitting in their vehicle in a multi-storey car park, while they headed off on a day-trip across the Channel.
Avatar f tn but this is no doubt a very serious surgery as all above have stated 3 days is too soon to not be in pain...when my mother had her hysterectomy in the 70s she was in hospital atleast a week. Now a days women get pushed out too soon. Yes its good to get up and walk. But I think one extra day would be good. normal recover to feel somewhat decent is 6-7 days..full as in going back to work, sex ..both with drs, permission is usually 6 weeks.
Avatar f tn I'm so happy to find a site that talks about pmdd....I'm 40 yrs old...2 kids and great hubby!! Unfortunatly I turn into a stranger when I start the process of ovulation and it gets worse as I go!! attentively scheduled hysterectomy 10/23/2015.... After seeking many treatments that of course failed! I ask today if anyone has done what I plan on doing soon..." And how do you feel now"?
Avatar f tn My cousin in his mid-70s was diagnosed with acenoid cystic carcenoma... tounge... 3 yrs ago. Last week discovery now in his lungs and 2 tumors in throat. They are looking for any research or clinical trials on this type cancer. Any info appreciated!!
612551 tn?1450022175 and shows counts in the 58-65 range when seated and in the low 70s when up and walking around the house. I also notice a slight tendency to slip into a light-headed feeling when I stand, that passes and I can walk outside on the level without any fainting or worse reactions. I think the lower HR is the cause, and I may adjust, but I still wonder why the HR has suddenly dropped at least 10-15 bpm when at rest, and perhaps 20 bpm when under light physical load such as walking.
Avatar f tn Normal blood sugar for a child is typically in the range of 70-100, with fasting numbers in the 70s - 80s (lower than for adults). After eating it may increase, but should should not go higher than about 120. Please have this looked at by a dr if you are concerned. A 3 year old shouldn't be tired!
178345 tn?1242536246 As you all know I had a full hysterectomy in May 07..well today I was shopping with my younger daughter and I started feeling a tight crampy feeling in my lower pelvis area. this was 6 hours ago and I am still feeling it,,it feels like a muscle spasm or something. It hurts more when I walk than when I sit. I am so uncomfortable. what could this be? Should I be worried? Please let me know.
700950 tn?1228607435 It must have been obvious if they knew about it in the early 60s and 70s. My mom said my aunt would joke about "falling apart" because of her connective tiissue disorder wouldn't "keep her connected". Bottom line, I just discovered my dramatic thyroid fluctuations which lead to the discovery of my extreme TPO (6991). My ANA ratio is 1:4, with normal Sed rate. Problem is that I am really sick. It can come on in 15 mins.
Avatar f tn I live in illinois and im due september 8th. Usually in september it's mid 70s. Its been almost 3 years since I've had a newborn so im a little rusty on what to dress him in. Like just a onsie? Or a onsie with pants? A sleeper? Not too sure please help!
Avatar n tn Bless you heart, I know how you are feeling as I went through a complete hysterectomy in 1991. No matter what the circumstances it is not an easy surgery. It doesn't surprise me that you are having these pains as the entire area is close to each other. That being said, I would definitely call your Doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and ask them if this is what you should be expecting.
716202 tn?1230395097 I have a family member who was a serious drinker; I mean 4 DUIs starting in the 70s, permanent revocation of his license, etc. Anyhoo, he started to cut down on his drinking years ago by switching and now he only has an occasional glass of wine or a couple of beers. He's also in his 70s and pretty healthy...
Avatar f tn Finally in June of 2006, I had a complete hysterectomy. I was still in pain and in october of that same year, I start bleeding again. I had to be rushed to the hotspital where I had an emergency surgery take out the rest of something that was left inside of me. The dr promised me that everythiIng was removed and I was going to be fine. Well the pain continued after the surgery, and I could not go the bathroom. Now I had another problem. I suffered for 10 months.
Avatar f tn I know this must sound like an odd question but my uncle who is in his 70s is stuck having dialysis 3 times a week because his kidneys do not work any more. He feels trapped because he cannot go anywhere without having to arrange places where he can have dialysis done. I would consider giving him one of my kidneys but I am also trying to think of the basic truth that he is already in his 70s.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for a hysterectomy in the next 2 weeks after 6 months post ablation and left ovary and tube removal. I will now be losing my right ovary and uterus. The Dr said she will attempt to do it laparoscopic but may have to open my stomach like a c section. Has anyone ever had a hysterectomy that started out laparoscopic then went to abdominal? Do you have any advice for recovery ? Tips? Heads up?
389974 tn?1331015242 Swampy lived in Malibu (at approximately PCH and Mulholland Hwy) in 1979 - 1980. So its a really nostalgic thing to see the background. Especially fun seeing the old shots of Point Dume. Swampy went back there in 2002, and drove around. The area is still pretty, but its built up with yuppie businesses and stuff and doesn't have the rough feel of the 70s.
Avatar f tn t concern me but if I was like the other poster who said her heart rate runs in the 70s then I would be concerned with your numbers. Unless your doctor told you to monitor your heart rate at home I wouldn't do it bc it'll just stress you out especially if you aren't certain what is normal for you.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry you are so worried. If you only had a few glasses of wine on a couple of occasions...chances are that you and your baby are just fine. My Mom, and probably a lot of our Mother's, drank wine the entire time she was pregnant with me and my siblings. Things were different in the early 70s. I'm just fine and so are my siblings. I had beers two nights before I found out I was pregnant. I never really worried about it.
1149921 tn?1297559913 You can start menopause in your 30's, that's true. But if your having a fibroid removed you will not have any menopausal symptoms from that. They are not removing any reproductive organs. There are treatments for fibroids so it does not always lead to a hysterectomy. If you were to have a hysterectomy then yes, you would probably have menopause symptoms. There is hormone therapy to help with that though. Find out what your ultrasound results are and do research.
Avatar f tn I had scarlet fever as a child in the mid 70s, I was very sick for a long long time as I was miss diagnosed by 3 or more drs, I haven't had a great time in my life when it comes to fever's, I still have hallucination fever's in my mid 40s, does it effect your long term health?
Avatar f tn Mine was 160 at 13 weeks but idk what I'm having yet.
Avatar f tn How can my cancer travel to the uterus without passing through the tubes? Is it ovarian cancer or uterine? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy next week and my doctor says only the second biopsy would tell. Anyone else who has seen this before? I really want to keep my system - I am 30.
