Avatar n tn Hi I had a total hysterectomy almost 30 years ago when I was 34. I do not take hormones and took premerin for a short time. Today I have hot flashes and sweat a lot. Do you still go thru menopause after a total hysterectomy? And monthly mood swings.....awful!
692703 tn?1227546586 Hello ... I'm sorry that I do not know the answer to your question. I love hearing survivor stories. It is so uplifting. I wish you the best!! I know someone might know the answer to your question. In the meantime you can go to the Home page and look for the "Hysterectomy" or "Women's Health" forums. From a common sense point of view, since she's had a total hysterectomy and no ovaries, I don't know how she could have a baby. Tell her congratulations..

9067885 tn?1415002692 I am so tired of my posts being moved to different forums. Especially since I am on the phone app and can not follow my own post because they were moved to social. This is the 18-24 age group and I feel like I should be able to post anything pregnancy related. I know several of you mommas feel the same! So frustrating!
Avatar f tn How can you access the forums under different topics on this site? I'd like to read about the possibilities of carrying HIV for 9 years or for 4 without knowing after having oral sex (deprecate instances) but both only oral. Where could I read about having symptoms after so many years?
Avatar f tn These forums r confusing me I see some people posting by weeks pregnant some by age and some are all over the place how do you stay on track??
Avatar n tn t have to do any myomectomies. There are a number of hysterectomy forums for the very reason that there are a lot of women suffering the permanent negative effects of hysterectomy. There are some resources out there about the lifelong functions of the female organs and alternatives to hysterectomy if you want to do some additional research. I hope this helps you make a decision.
Avatar f tn You can go to the top of the webpage and click on forums and there is a whole listing of teh forums that are available - both the patient to patient ones, like this one, as well as "expert" forums where doctors volunteer some of their time to provide answers to patient's questions. I'm sorry, offhand I don't recall if the women's health forum is in the patient to patient section or the expert section.

Avatar f tn I'm 38 and in a few months, I am scheduled to get a hysterectomy due to uterine prolapse. I'll also have my cervix removed due to history of polyps (benign). The intention would be to leave my ovaries. My mother had a hysterectomy at 50 due to heavy bleeding issues, but I recently found out that she had precancerous cells in her ovaries - haven't had this discussion with my doctor yet since it's new news.

Avatar n tn I have had a hysterectomy 5 years ago. I always had very hard periods. Started Mestruating at 12. I have had 2 children with very difficult delivery for one. I have had pelvic injuries that have left me severley bruised at age 10, then age 21, then again in my early thirties. I am now 53 years old. My gyn. informed my family and I it was impossible to remove my ovaries due to enormous amounts of scar tissue.
Avatar m tn If you and your gf are having problems with lube because of her hysterectomy (I had a hysterectomy too, and have that problem), just get some lube. It will help it feel better for you both. And it can be fun to play with. ;) But wait until your symptoms are gone before you have sex.
Avatar f tn I had a partial hysterectomy in January of last year due to ovarian cysts and precancerous cells. I am only 29 so my doctor did not think I would have many issues or need to be on hormone therapy. But since then I have gained close to 30 pounds (I have gone from 130 to 160, all or the weight centralized to my stomach- and my breasts have gone from a c cup to an EEE .... ) despite clean eating and exercising regularly.
637613 tn?1281039564 I just wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful women on the Ovarian Cyst and the Hysterectomy Forums. I am having my surgery on Wed and am so very grateful for the wonderful advice and support that you have all offered me. I was so relieved when I found this site. I was beginning to think I was losing my mind and I must be the only one with these pains. I was amazed to know how many women suffer...and thankful to know how many get relief from the surgery. Thanks agian for all the support.
Avatar f tn I also had a partial hysterectomy 8 years ago.Need friends and want to join in on disscussions and I just dont know how anyone please help....
Avatar f tn By all means get a second opinion before the hysterectomy. The attitudes about hysterectomy vary from region to region and from city to the suburbs... I live in a smallish WI town where docs sound like the writer's doc- 'just take the darn thing out' is the usual comment in this 'neck of the woods'! And I admit to coming across many women over the years who were very grateful for 'the change'. BUT...
Avatar f tn I would like to know how to delete forums off of MyHelp some of them I don't want to keep.
213044 tn?1236527460 I have seen some mention of chat forums being desireable, and I would just like to say I think that is a terrible idea. I hope if the thought is entertained, that it will be rejected. It would be difficult to monitor, any information put forth would be lost, and it would not benefit the community. It is highly questionable that it would even benefit the chat participants. I hope if the issue is discussed the negative ramifications will be considered and the idea rejected.
