Hysterectomy for males

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy for males

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn This could be caused by a few different things. It could be a UTI, a kidney infection, or a kidney stone. In males, it could be due to prostate problems.
Avatar n tn I have been reading about the types cause cancer for men are rare, and the virus mostly will resolved by its own within 2 years for most of infected people, and it turns to cancer for people who have weak immunity system and smoke a lot, knowing that the last exposure was 6 months ago or more, and i have not had any symptoms such as warts or anything. My concern is about the virus being undetected and turns to cancer suddenly after many years.
Avatar n tn I am aged 18 and male - went to see my doctor today about a lump under my right nipple which was sore/tender to touch. It has been like this for around a week, so after speaking with my doctor she said it was nothing to worry about (most likely hormonal) and to go back in a month if it worsens or persists. After consultation and research myself it would point to being gynecomastia(?) however i failed to mention there is a history on my dads side of the family of cancer.
603946 tn?1333941839 I had to go away for a few months, my father passed away, when I returned I had my mom who agreed to move with us. Wile I was gone the dogs got attention from the guys in the household but there was not as much activity as there is when I play with them. I love on them all equally and I cuddle and pat on them all day off and on. Of course while my husband was at work in the day, this never happened the two months that I was gone.
Avatar f tn Also, in same age group, is there no higher risk for males than females?
667937 tn?1227758698 t know if you currently have an active infection or not but I you must have had an active high risk HPV infection in the past due to the abnormal paps and needing a hysterectomy. They can test for the virus through your pap test, however the digiene test can only detect whether or not there is an active HPV infection (it cannot detect the virus if it is dormant) and if there is an active infection whether the strain is of high risk category or low risk category.
Avatar f tn I know many people that have gone this route that have had success. A hysterectomy is not a cure for Endo so please don't let anyone tell you that as it can still grow back. Most doctors who say what yours did about how bad it was means its possible he is not educated or skilled in Endo surgery. If you let me know where abouts you live I could help you find a good Endo surgeon so if there is a time you would see one you will have the name on hand.
Avatar f tn I am a female who three months ago had a hysterectomy due to HPV strains 16 and 18 causing low grade cervical cancer. My choice to have the hysterectomy rather than other treatment options for dysplagia. All margins clear. I'm well but may carry the hpv incessantly dormant as doctors really don't know. I have met someone and we'd like to start a serious relationship/marry. He has MS. Low level, takes Avonex, with no exacerbation or new lesions in three years since starting Avonex.
Avatar n tn I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this. I'm concerned about the success rate of a myomectomy and don't want to go through a surgical procedure and then end up having to have a hysterectomy in the long run. Naturally, I also don't want to have a hysterectomy and end up with complications and am really afraid of menopause.
Avatar n tn you need to also check with your insurance to see if they are covering gardasil for males. Many insurances are not. You should be able to get the series of shots through your local health department though - give them a call and ask if your insurance isn't covering it. Many providers don't talk about optional vaccines for their patients. In this day and age of 7 minute appointments, you really need to look out for your own health unfortunately.
Avatar f tn First of all let me clarify something for you, if you had a total hysterectomy, you do not still have your ovaries. So, with that being said, if you did indeed have a total then it sounds like you are in need of some hormone replacement. It sounds like you are having classic symptoms of going through menepause which is what you are suppose to do after a total hysterectomy. If your doctor isn't listening to you, then I urge you to find one who does.
Avatar m tn s not always tested for in males. the newer trich tests are pretty good at picking it up in males if indeed he does have it. can you also have a false positive trich test for yourself? yes you can. there are different types of trich that are not std related that live in our bowels and can be picked up on with the cervical swabs. since there's no quick and easy way to tell if it's a false positive and trich can affect future fertility, best to just treat at this point regardless.
733437 tn?1232182023 I am not to sure about anything on what exactly a hysterectomy calls for, but Im sure that I dont want kids/babies EVER. So I was wondering if it is healthy for someone who is 18 to have a a hysterectomy, or is there other ways to becoming sterilized?
Avatar f tn movie rentals whatever you like for quiet time....ask for and accept help your gonna need it....wear loss clothing...be prepared for very serious pain your pain meds will handle it .....take them....the vast majority of women feel completley physically healed by 6 weeks....take it very easy for 1st intercourse after 6 weeks and doctors ok.....
Avatar f tn if you find these questions to be stupid just celebrate the fact that you are smarter than me. lol question #1. Why would a woman who had a total hysterectomy still need to see a ob-gyn? queation #2. Would a woman who has had a total hysterectomy need to douche?
Avatar f tn Most lesions were removed at that time, but I still continued to symptomatic (heavy, long, painful periods and significant daily pain). I was put on Femara, then Lupron (for a total of 1 1/2 years post-surg). There was no improvement and, to make matters worse, I fell into a very deep depression while on Lupron. I was taken off of Lupron in February and had a Mirena IUD placed shortly thereafter. Again, minimal improvements. I had another lap/hysteroscopy done last month.
Avatar f tn What I mean is, when the result is given with the number value, usually less than 1 is negative but is that number value range the same for both males and females? Like would less then 1 be negative for BOTH genders? I know some tests like haemoglobin, RBC and WBC have different value ranges for male and female, so is it the same for the HIV test too? My test said a value and then it said negative. But I want to know if it’s the same range used for both male and females. I am a female.
