Hysterectomy for inverted uterus

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy for inverted uterus

hysterectomy

Avatar n tn I was at the gyn yesterday for a follicular cyst - which he says is normal to have (hope it is). I had an ultra sound done and a vaginal one and they discovered I have an inverted uterus. I also have many fibroids - one that is 3.5 inches. He said my uterus in double in size and is pushing against my rectum leaving little room for either a penis or going # 2. He is suggesting a total hysterectomy. I am late 30's.
Avatar f tn my doctor also told me since my uterus inverted i can easily get pregnant it is true?why my uterus is like that?
Avatar f tn ive been trying around a year. i did however get prego when i was younger and drunk milk and bleach. i thought it was safe then since i was young i didnt think to heck beforer i did it or use common sense.
Avatar n tn ) He might just have a mental block that hysterectomy is for older ladies and sees you in some way as less desirable because of that. This one is easy to fix with sexy underwear and a racy attitude. But you need to know why your hysterectomy made such a difference to him. Very rarely, a woman gets a stretched-out vagina after many childbirths and if that is the story, perhaps your ob-gyn can suggest a surgical procedure to tighten the vagina.
897990 tn?1248268956 She has been told that she will need a hysterectomy after the baby is born. Does anyone know if it is possible for her to have a c-section and a hysterectomy at the same time. She does not see her doc for a few more weeks and we are curious if anyone has had this done because she would prefer to get it all over with at the same time.
Avatar f tn For the most part in great health, even according to my Gyn doctor. I was schedule to have a hysterectomy on March 24, so I had to go in for some pre-op tests on March 21. The day did not go to well prior to my tests due to my records not being sent over, and the staff (at my doctor office) not setting up the appointment. So after several hours of stressing and having to raise my voice to a supervisor (on the phone) my records were finally sent over and I was sent for the tests.
2042830 tn?1333865567 s about getting ablation of my uterus, because they ended up having more pain and bleed outside of the uterus..They end up getting a full hysterectomy... I really cant afford to go the long route and end up with having hysterectomy... What do you think if it comes back good results and I hope they do... should I get the Ablation of my uterus???
Avatar f tn There are 5 types of POP, rectocele (rectum), cystocele (bladder), enterocele (intestines), uterine (uterus), and vaginal vault (top of vagina caves in after a hysterectomy). Grades for POP are 1-4 (in some countries its 1-3 but in general we utilize 4 stages here). I'll answer the book ?? on a PM to you; it falls into the category of self-promo and we try to keep the MedHelp site as clean as possible (others can comment, I should not). Is there a urologist there?
Avatar n tn He thought he saw it behind the fetal pole. He also stated I have an inverted uterus. Should I be concerned? He did not feel a IVU was needed and stated everything was ok. I am still worried though. Is it that the TAU just couldnt see the yolk sac or could it not be there? I phoned my dr but she was out for the weekend. I figured if it was serious she would have contacted me this afternoon after reveiving the results. I have searched online and rarely found my issue.
Avatar n tn Now that she has learned through an ultrasound that there are multiple fibroids, she said that procedure is not an option as it would basically cut off the blood supply to the uterus if they did that for each fibroid. The only option is a partial hestorectormy to remove my utereus. My ovaries are fine. The only reason I need to go ahead and do something is the fibroids are pushing up against my kidney and causing that to inflame and has caused pain in my lower stomach and my side/back.
Avatar m tn I have Adenomyosis, its when the lining of the uterus grows into the muscle of the uterus, the doctor decribes it as like a uturus inside a uterus, or a hot piece of coal irritaing my uterus! I bleed heavily and am in constant pain! I have to have abdominal surgery as my uterus is to enlarged to take it away by any other means.
Avatar n tn t want a hysterectomy and I find it hard to believe that there are NO other options for me. My quality of life has dramatically changed. I hope you don't have this, and I wish you well.
Avatar f tn t have any ovaries, then I would take the uterus too. If you are keeping an ovary, you may want to leave the uterus. I had to have a total hysterectomy and oopherectomy due to ovarian cancer three years ago. I was 37 at the time. Dealing with the total lack of hormones has been terrible for me. I already have osteoporosis and I am 40. I took the recommended calcium every day and did weight bearing exercise, but this didn't prevent hte osteoporosis.
Avatar f tn I have to have surgery for prolapse bladder and uterus. My GYN is going to do it. He says he will use the mesh sling to hold up the bladder. I ask about the law suits with bladder meshes. He said this kind is different. Worried about having surgery now. I need to have urinary catheter, was wondering how long it needs to stay in?
Avatar n tn But even worse, many gyns do a hysterectomy for prolapse and having the uterus removed increases your risk of (another) prolapse not to mention all the other nasty after effects of hysterectomy (with or without ovary / gonad removal). I will be happy to expand on these effects if you want. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn Why would a doctor during a hysterectomy take out the uterus through the rectum?
Avatar m tn Normally a partial hysterectomy is removing the uterus but leaving the ovaries for hormonal purposes. There is no way someone without a uterus could get pregnant. But have her check with her doctor.
Avatar m tn I was under the impression that if you had a hysterectomy that you did not have your uterus. When I had my hysterectomy done, the dr took the works. I'm talking about everything, the fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, uterus. Not that I miss any of them. I don't have periods, which means no pms! WooHoo!
Avatar f tn Providing there is nothing wrong with your uterus and ovaries, a hysterectomy is not necessary for Pelvic Organ Prolapse in many instances. I would suggest you see a board certified Urogynecologyist if you are considering surgery for Pelvic Organ Prolapse and get a second opinion. J.
Avatar n tn No you cannot get pregnant after a hysterectomy. You have to have a uterus to carry a baby and a hysterectomy removes the uterus. There are other pricedures that remove just the ovaries that you can get pregnant after but not a hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn You dont have to keep your uterus for this purpose and women may need their uterus removed for more than one reason
Avatar n tn Clysta if they dont take the uterus it is not a hysterectomy. A hysterectomty is removing the uterus. An oopherectomy is removing the ovaries and fallopian tubes. So no she can't get pregnant after a hysterectomy.
7841769 tn?1408457386 Im petite and have an inverted uterus which made him lay in my bavk. I think it just depends on the person. I prayed for the day that I started showing.
888637 tn?1241034907 t just take the whole uterus out since they make up my uterus it seems. I was shocked. In this day and age can a doctor really recommend that for a young woman who wants a family someday soon? And then she wants to do the myomectomy on the DaVinci robot, is that safe for someone with so many fibroids? Plus she added that the surgery may not take away the pain (I felt she was suggesting it's all in my head). Well. What to do? Why do doctors dismiss women's pain so fast?
Avatar n tn What was exactly a full hysterectomy for you? Some doctors call a hysterectomy just removal of the uterus. For my full debulking hysterectomy I had my uterus, cervix, both ovaries, both fallopian tubes and full omentum apron and my appendix... Did you have your ovaries removed? If you did you could have remnant ovarie tissue that has cysts.. you need to ask more questions... I hope you find the answers...
Avatar f tn If I have a hysterectomy, seeing how I had my tubes cut and they remove my uterus will I still have monthly periods? Also, we are going on a cruise in Oct, will I be complete healed by then? Thanks for your time.
