My MD is fantastic, and has offered many options but it seems my best ones are either a) hysteroscopic myomectomy with HTA endometrial ablation, or b) laparoscopic DaVinci hysterectomy. Of course, I can't decide! On the one hand, with multiple fibroids, some of which are actively bleeding, the recurrence rate is high once they are cut out, and I am likely still many years away from menopause hysterectomy seems like an appealing final solution to my problems.

I would recommend everyone who needs a hysterectomy or ovarian masses removed ask their surgeon to use DaVinci. I did--and she agreed! Question to anyone? What is the largest size ovarian mass removed via DaVinci? My surgeon was hesitant to remove mine this way stating the "bag" to remove the mass was only 15 cm, and if ruptured, concern if twas malignant. She felt 95% certain mine was not malignant, although not confirmed until frozen section & pathology completed.

I had a full hysterectomy by daVinci method six weeks ago. I still have pain and a lot of discharge and odor. Does that seem normal? I am embarrassed because I don't want my husband to be bothered by it. Any suggestions?

You could be. Your doctor can give you a test to see for sure though. At 45 yrs. old I had excessive bleeding. My period would last approx. 13 days. Since I didn't want to have anymore children I opted to have the DaVinci Hysterectomy. It was the best thing I ever did. I still have both ovaries and have yet to go through menopause. ve had pain, bleeding, and unbelievable tiredness since my da vinci robot assist hysterectomy. In fact, I had to undergo an emergency surgery 4 weeks after my actual surgery because the robot knicked an artery. I severely hemorrhaged from that mistake. Still today, now 6 weeks later, I'm bleeding and have excruciating pain in my lower right pelvic area. I'm so depressed, I'm having to take anxiety medicine.

please read up on just do a on-line search) a procedure called the DaVinci Robotic hysterectomy its the very best method out there..less bleeding, scaring, easier for both Dr and patient. I had this method and I have just four very small as in 1/4 inch scars on abdomen..yes it is a serious surgery. However in many cases and it sounds like in your case once done and past the 6 week healing it is soooooo very nice to be pain free.

I am 2 weeks into recovery from a recrocele cystocele and Davinci hysterectomy and sacrocolpoplexy. Wondering if and when it is safe to start kegels or will it pull out the mesh?

The tumor did not show on transvaginal testing, however concurrently i had a large cyst removed from my left ovary and thankfully the other one was found on my right side. I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy next week, 4 weeks after my first surgery. i have the option of having a robotic assisted surgery using the davinci system or i can opt for the standard procedure.

I am now just over 2 weeks post op. I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy, Davinci assist. I've been doing ok. Some back pain at end of days have been typical, especially if I did a few things during the day. I was in pain last night and went to ER. I was diagnosed with a UTI and given Cipro. Is it late to be getting a UTI this far out from my surgery and catheter?

I have a surgeon who want to do a minimally invasive robotic hysterectomy and removal of one ovary. My worry is that the technology has only been at the hospital since July, so no one around here has tons of experience. I don't want to be a lab rat. How different is it from laparascopic, is it worth it if I am really worried about this? I asked how many my doctor had done and the scheduler said "Oh he's done a lot of them, at least 10!" 10??!!

I am thinking about having a hysterectomy because of terrible endemetriosis, I am 47 and have a history of breast cancer, so I cannot get any hormone replacement therapy. But i have read that maybe it won't help. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I had a DaVinci hysterectomy on 12-11-12 with anterior/posterior repairs; vault suspension and TVT procedure. Yesterday I woke in a full body stretch like I always had my whole life however since surgery I had not done so. Is there any way I have jeopordized the repairs?! I hate to bother the MD on call with a silly question near the holidays. I am sore but have always been; no extra bleeding. I just hate this happened when I wasn't awake.

When I had my hysterectomy, my gynecologist took the works out. I'm talking the ovaries (well one, I had the other one removed last Dec.), uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes. The procedure he used was called lavh, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy. I feel a lot better for it though. For me, I have a family history cervical and uterine cancer, which why the gynecologist took out everything. From what I understand though, there are other cancers us women can get.

I WILL TELL YOU seeing as you were cleared to go back to work and seem to really want to that I would DEFINATELY FIND OUT if a daVinci Hysterectomy is available anywhere around you. It's the least invasive procedure for surgery and girl.....I will tell you I was COMPLETELY SHOCKED at how well I did. I never needed pain pills afterwards, but did take them at night to make sure I could sleep. I was more sore than anything no real pain.

And then she wants to do the myomectomy on the DaVinci robot, is that safe for someone with so many fibroids? Plus she added that the surgery may not take away the pain (I felt she was suggesting it's all in my head). Well. What to do? Why do doctors dismiss women's pain so fast?

i am going in to have a abdominal hysterectomy in 7 weeks time the doctor has told me he will remove my womb and he could have to talk one of my ovaries as he said it does not look to good i am 35 with 4 kids age 5 ,7, 12, and 17 i am up the walls thinking about it i have been told i cant do anything for 6 weeks is this right can any one tell me the full story what it is like and what should i do befor going in to hospital will i need anything for when i come home any help any news on this wo

My GYN wants to do a vaginal hysterectomy but I was wondering if I could have another UAE instead. OR... maybe I could do nothing (except take pain medication) with the expectation that menopause will eventually take care of this? I don't have constant pain, just discomfort from time to time and occasional severe pain. I'm wondering if I could just "wait it out"? Thank you.
