Help!!! I have history of many prior abdominal surgeries, and then a hyst, and now I am told I have adhesions due to many pelvic surgeries. History of PCOD BAD! Endometriosis, hysterectomy in 05'. Now my stomach feels like it is on fire, I have to burp and pass gas alot. Could adhesions be causing this? What could this be? I don't know if a surgeon or any dr will treat me, as I dont have any insurance, and dont have SSI or Medicaid yet. Can these adhesions be life threatening?

It is likely to be just a coincidence that you have developed symptoms post your hysterectomy. Diabetes is a chronic disease and complications are unlikely to develop over a few weeks or months and alternative possibilities to the cause of your symptoms may need to be considered. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. would like to know if anyone out there has had any complications with the monarc sling/transvaginal mesh surgery? i am 56 yrs old, healthy, never had surgery til i had a hysterectomy followed by a bladder suspesion surgery last aug....did not have any leaking from bladder...all possible test were run...everything was fine...had prolapse uterus/bladder. the surgery went well & 8 wks/plus recoop went well...followed both the gynecologist & urologist order to a T....

i was hospitalized the next day for complications from hernia surgery. since then i have had problems and now im bleeding vaginally which i shouldnt be considering i dont have a period from a hysterectomy. i told my doctor and she said it was from irritation where my ovary was removed but the bleeding went from spotting to a light period. what should i do?

Hi- Just wondering if anyone out there had any complications post total hysterectomy? I had mine 3 months ago due to several cysts again! Paternal grandma died of ovarian cancer at age 50. I have been experiencing severe pain and discomfort from a combination of ovarian cysts and fibroids for 3 years now. I was treated with birth controls pills and then steroids and nothing has worked. I just got back the results of my most recent ultrasound. I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. Please, please, please do not just rush into a hysterectomy! I was forced into one at the age of 27 and my life has never been the same since. For one I almost died from the sugery and for two, there is a very long list of major complications/illness' that come with a hysterectomy. Some doctor's push for a hysterectomy because they make good money from them and will continue making more money off of you, because of the side affects and complications.

Hello to All, I want to ask if anyone here has had to have a hysterectomy during/with having MS symptoms and if symptoms get worse or what? I have been scheduled to have surgery on April 12 to have my rt ovary (with attached 4.8 cm cyst) and fallopian tube removed. At the same time the doctor will also perform an ablation (sp?) due to a uterine polyp and subsequent crazy periods.

I also am a RN and I find it appauling that the surgeon handled your hysterectomy in that way. I am curious about your age and have you had children yet because surely the MD should have taken that into condsideration and discussed that issue with your husband as well. I also am not sure about the laws for informed consent when a procedure is heading a different direction; I assume the MD was within the bounds of the law by calling your husband?

I had a hysterectomy Nov.2013 in which I also had a large non cancerous tumor removed at the same time.. I did not have my ovaries removed as they were ok. Then 10 days after my surgery, I had complications, as my bowel twisted and I had to have emergency surgery to have part of my bowel removed. I almost died, but I am lucky and I feel not too bad for the most part, but I am now having problems with my estrogen. It is very very low which I expected after having my 1st operation.
