I have been experiencing severe pain and discomfort from a combination of ovarian cysts and fibroids for 3 years now. I was treated with birth controls pills and then steroids and nothing has worked. I just got back the results of my most recent ultrasound. I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this.
Help!!! I have history of many prior abdominal surgeries, and then a hyst, and now I am told I have adhesions due to many pelvic surgeries. History of PCOD BAD! Endometriosis, hysterectomy in 05'. Now my stomach feels like it is on fire, I have to burp and pass gas alot. Could adhesions be causing this? What could this be? I don't know if a surgeon or any dr will treat me, as I dont have any insurance, and dont have SSI or Medicaid yet. Can these adhesions be life threatening?
i was hospitalized the next day for complications from hernia surgery. since then i have had problems and now im bleeding vaginally which i shouldnt be considering i dont have a period from a hysterectomy. i told my doctor and she said it was from irritation where my ovary was removed but the bleeding went from spotting to a light period. what should i do?

I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
It is likely to be just a coincidence that you have developed symptoms post your hysterectomy. Diabetes is a chronic disease and complications are unlikely to develop over a few weeks or months and alternative possibilities to the cause of your symptoms may need to be considered. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.

Hi- Just wondering if anyone out there had any complications post total hysterectomy? I had mine 3 months ago due to several cysts again! Paternal grandma died of ovarian cancer at age 50. I had 15 years of cysts, and a total of 8 laporosopies. I am not even 40 yet! Any how, at my 8 wk check up my oncologist said everything was fine, no infection, no cancer, etc., I can try having sex with my husband. We did everything was fine.
would like to know if anyone out there has had any complications with the monarc sling/transvaginal mesh surgery? i am 56 yrs old, healthy, never had surgery til i had a hysterectomy followed by a bladder suspesion surgery last aug....did not have any leaking from bladder...all possible test were run...everything was fine...had prolapse uterus/bladder. the surgery went well & 8 wks/plus recoop went well...followed both the gynecologist & urologist order to a T....
I normally quite fit and my heart rate sits around 50 beats a min at rest so with the metoprol it lowered my heart rate to much expecially while sleeping was getting into the early 30s when I was getting monitored in hospital. They don't seam to think the hysterectomy was related to why I have it but it is when it started. There is no family history with heart rythom problems and there isn't even any family history with my prolonged qt either but apparently it cab happen in rare cases.
So today at 6:34 I had my son. I had many complications through out. With my preeclampsia, blood pressure, his heart rate, the pain, & delievery. While in labor for 1hr&half he was caught on my vaginal canal and when i was pushing i busted the viens in the back of his head ): hes in the nursery, hes also having trouble breathing. Hes on an i.v. and oxygen. They said that he will probably have to come back for therapy for his viens.

I also am a RN and I find it appauling that the surgeon handled your hysterectomy in that way. I am curious about your age and have you had children yet because surely the MD should have taken that into condsideration and discussed that issue with your husband as well. I also am not sure about the laws for informed consent when a procedure is heading a different direction; I assume the MD was within the bounds of the law by calling your husband?

Hi there are complications such as uterine rupture am i myself had an emergency c section an wanted a vbac but ended up with another c section cuz i wasnt going into labor. Im currently pregnant 17 weeks 3days with number 3. But i knw my aunt had 2 csections then a vbac so ita possible ive heard of lota of others to. Just look at the pros an cons and then decide which u would perfer.
It's natural to be scared of surgery. If you are not feeling reassured when you talk to the surgeon, if you are in America you can get a second opinion.
It doesn't sound like avoiding surgery is wise. The best treatment I have had has been from surgeons, but I have chosen my surgeons very carefully. That's not to say there can't be complications, but the more unhealthy you are and the more dramatic the condition, the more likely you will have complications.
Do adhesions from a Hysterectomy get worse or cause future complications if not surgically corrected or is it just to help the pain? Should this be performed by a surgeon or the GYN doctor who performed the Hysterectomy? Thank you!
If so, how was ur experience and did u have any complications? my doctor says I might need a hysterectomy and im terrified of just the thought of it.
i ended up having an emergency bowel repair and also a full hysterectomy, I have finally recovered but i am still waiting for answers from my surgeon. She did say that she thinks its because i had a c section and it caused an area of my womb to be thin and it was not noticed.
