i was hospitalized the next day for complications from hernia surgery. since then i have had problems and now im bleeding vaginally which i shouldnt be considering i dont have a period from a hysterectomy. i told my doctor and she said it was from irritation where my ovary was removed but the bleeding went from spotting to a light period. what should i do?
I had a total abdomen hysterectomy July 17 2014. After surgery I blew up like a balloon all over. I was so distended I couldn't move. Next day my palms were white and was told I was bleeding internally. I got four blood transfusions. Then I was given another catheter and LASIK because I now had fluid on my lungs and my oxygen was low and had trouble breathing. Then I had degenerative heart failure and had a heart moniter for 3 or 4 days.
It is likely to be just a coincidence that you have developed symptoms post your hysterectomy. Diabetes is a chronic disease and complications are unlikely to develop over a few weeks or months and alternative possibilities to the cause of your symptoms may need to be considered. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.

Hi- Just wondering if anyone out there had any complications post total hysterectomy? I had mine 3 months ago due to several cysts again! Paternal grandma died of ovarian cancer at age 50. I had 15 years of cysts, and a total of 8 laporosopies. I am not even 40 yet! Any how, at my 8 wk check up my oncologist said everything was fine, no infection, no cancer, etc., I can try having sex with my husband. We did everything was fine.
Help!!! I have history of many prior abdominal surgeries, and then a hyst, and now I am told I have adhesions due to many pelvic surgeries. History of PCOD BAD! Endometriosis, hysterectomy in 05'. Now my stomach feels like it is on fire, I have to burp and pass gas alot. Could adhesions be causing this? What could this be? I don't know if a surgeon or any dr will treat me, as I dont have any insurance, and dont have SSI or Medicaid yet. Can these adhesions be life threatening?

would like to know if anyone out there has had any complications with the monarc sling/transvaginal mesh surgery? i am 56 yrs old, healthy, never had surgery til i had a hysterectomy followed by a bladder suspesion surgery last aug....did not have any leaking from bladder...all possible test were run...everything was fine...had prolapse uterus/bladder. the surgery went well & 8 wks/plus recoop went well...followed both the gynecologist & urologist order to a T....
s consent but based on what he was told he thought it HAD to be done while I was in surgery right then. I have struggled with feelings of resentment towards him and my mother both for almost 6 years even though I know that they did what they thought was best for me based on what information they were given. I just need help getting over this. Also, my bladder was back in the same shape it was before surgery within 3 months. Now I will have to have open surgery to fix it this time.
Hi. I read some ladies are gaining weight post hysterectomy, one told it is due to insufficient levels of 'L????' . The lady then says there is no replacement for 'L????' currently so it doesn't matter what the name is. I think she is referring to Leptin, and the reading I've done indicates there is a replacement. Is there? If not, a newly released diet programme that maximises leptin use is available, and called the Venus factor.
I have taken nutrition classes, and I'm in nursing school. I do not eat egg, and I'm lactose intolerant. The surgery did have complications, including nerve damage. My colon was also scarred, which causes irregularity. I have to take laxatives often, doctor's orders. I did yoga 6 months after surgery, and it helped with the healing. I'm just curious about the results other people had.
The exact type of surgical procedure done, the amount of inflammation you have post surgery, how active you need to be during the early heal curve will all have an impact on when and whether you need to cath. Please call your physicians office and let them address this scenario, it is extremely important that you follow the cath procedure they request so you heal up properly with no complications.

I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
I have been experiencing severe pain and discomfort from a combination of ovarian cysts and fibroids for 3 years now. I was treated with birth controls pills and then steroids and nothing has worked. I just got back the results of my most recent ultrasound. I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this.

Do adhesions from a Hysterectomy get worse or cause future complications if not surgically corrected or is it just to help the pain? Should this be performed by a surgeon or the GYN doctor who performed the Hysterectomy? Thank you!
