Avatar f tn I SPOKE TO DOCTOR AND HE SAID IT COULD BE THE URETHRA NARROWING MAY NEED DILATATION..
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy and an oophorectomy 10 years ago and continued to still have a sex drive and enjoyment. Then I was diagnosed with Her2 breast cancer in December 2009. I had a bilateral mastectomy with lymph node involvement. I have gone through chemotherapy and radiation and reconstruction. I feel very good about my body and looks. The problem is I have no hormones left in my body. I still have an active sex life with my husband; however I get very little satisfaction from it now.
Avatar f tn I would have a detailed converstion with your doctor. I too am a runner. But I just had a normal redical hysterectomy and I was able to return to running. I would say it may take you alot longer to heal, but I am not a 100% sure you will not ever be able to run again.
Avatar n tn ) I have had 2 deep ab surgerys including a hysterectomy. Since then I have seen 3 other reconstruction surgeons who said that it would be too hard and wouldn't touch it-So my question is, Am I just to resign myself to be mutilated for life or is there any hope for me? Thanks in advance for any advice...
Avatar f tn ve had a hysterectomy, left ovary with cyst removed, 8 ureter stents, ureter reconstruction, left kidney removed and a bladder sling installed. In amongst those, I've also had 3 partial bowel obstructions and a lysis of adhesions. I feel as if I have another bowel obstruction and have been fairly sick lately. My gastro will only order a KUB Xray. This Xray has never shown my obstructions in the past. For the past week, I haven't passed any stool.
1773933 tn?1355719390 I went through chemo, radiation, a double mastectomy as well as the removal of 5 lymph nodes where they found cancer in 3 out of the 5 nodes. I went through reconstruction and a complete hysterectomy. Over the past couple of weeks I have been feeling some discomfort in my right armpit area which is the side of my cancer and a nasty foul, offensive odor.
1045873 tn?1253431032 I had a bladder lift and hysterectomy wth vag. reconstruction 10 years ago. I have had no feeling internally there ever since. The doctors who operated on me were of no help, and it was very frustrating. A neurologist told me later I had suffered nerve damage and there was nothing as of then I could do about it. If anyone has experianced this please post back.
Avatar f tn I am 49 a single mom with three kids, one is special needs. I have been diagnosed with high grade DCIS and LCIS. I also have MS. First does anyone know if it is possible to have double mastectomy, reconstruction and hysterectomy at the same time? I'm in good shape, well other the above mentioned of course. Second if I did all this would I still be put on the anti-estrogen drugs. Yes I'm post menopause so it would be the ones that totally block estrogen like Femara not Tamoxifen.

Avatar f tn your vagina is most likely smaller than it was before..due to the reconstruction of rectum and bladder/urethra...so its like you may need to let skin in vagina sretch it will , have him be very gentle....use lube. Try different positions...one may hurt less than another. If you are still not having a satisfoctory sex life in 2-3 weeks after following my advice please go back to dr...that was a serious surgery...and oerhaos he has more to reccomend.\ BTW Kegals never hurt...
222282 tn?1210164939 my sil had a hyterectomy today for ovarian cancer and the have cut her ureter ,what are the possibilites here and will she have to have a nepheretomy ?
Avatar f tn TRAM flap reconstruction is usually one of the best procedures for breast reconstruction that can mimic the normal breast configuration and symmetry. However, the strength of the abdominal muscles can be decreased by as much as 10% and therefore may weaken the abdominal muscles. I suggest you discuss this in depth with your surgeon regarding the advantages and disadvantages of this procedure and make sure you understand. I hope your operation goes well. Regards and God bless.
314692 tn?1214080510 I am having a bilateral mastectomy with immidiate reconstruction (expanders). I have been told by my plastic surgeon that this would not be a problem, because any problems that MAY arise due to rads could be fixed. I was also told by my (2nd opinion) breast oncology surgeon that rads dont ALWAYS jack up the implant. However my oncology surgeon is VERY against immediate recon when rads are involved. He thinks I should wait up to a year.
Avatar f tn I have been researching my options and have pretty much decided to go with a elective double mastetomy with reconstruction and to have my ovary removed or complete hysterectomy. My question is what % do I have of getting breast cancer anyway after surgery. I am 32 years old and have two young sons. I want to be there for them when they graduate high school, college, and get married.
Avatar n tn I have to wait another week to see, but I did get to talk to the nurse some more about how I had really wanted the entire breast taken off and she said she would keep me on file..and when I was done making decisions about chemo and/or treatment I could give them a call about mastectomies and reconstruction if I choose that. I am very sorry that you too have to face this battle but it is so refreshing to hear from someone my own age.
1448786 tn?1284731478 Please choose your PBM surgeon wisely. Reconstruction done right is a wonderful and beautiful choice but this is not something done well by the garden variety plastic surgeon. Choose a doctor who does 500 to 1000 or more breast reconstruction surgeries a YEAR, not in a career. You should get recommendations from people walking in your shoes who've already been there and done that. See what they thought of their doctor AND hospital, because that is also a HUGE part of the experience.
Avatar f tn You may even need to consult more than one Plastic Surgeon in order to decide which type of reconstruction will be best for you. If you are planning reconstruction I suggest that you make an appointment to discuss all the options available to you. Regards ...
Avatar f tn thank you so much - surgery and DIEP construction is sceduled for 4/23/12
Avatar f tn I will be undergoing a double Mastectomy and immediate Breast reconstruction surgery. I am Estrogen Positive and HER2 Negative. Thank You for your time.
Avatar n tn Option 2 is something to think about, however as I discussed about scar tissue, you will get it,,,my ovary became wrapped in scar tissue and was attached to my bowels lead to lots of complications,,A hysterectomy has lots of pluses and minuses at your age, Of corse you will be thrown intomenopause. have you tried Leupron its an injection that will put you into a chemically induced menopause, I have heard many negative side effects as far as emotions running high, crying spells etc.
Avatar n tn I wear a compression sleeve and the swelling is more or less stable. I am 48 years old and am considering doing reconstruction (diep flap). Is this likely to complicate the lymphadema? I've had one surgeon say yes and another say no.
Avatar n tn Hello, my question is being that I just had two c-section in 2008 and 2009 got my tubes tied, now in 2014 had a hysterectomy to find out the Dr had to do an balder reconstruction due to my bladder was attach to my uterus and scare tissue from my last c-section. It has been a month. I have not had a good 8 hours sleep since. Every hour I have to go to the bathroom. During the day I have accident (s) When I drink anything I end up going every 5 to 15 minutes to the restroom for hours.
6452840 tn?1381776492 s only for older people as its a 10 year fix kind of thing and would need to be repeated, and there is a hysterectomy and reconstruction which is the route my gynaecologist has suggested for me after allowing me to go through one more pregnancy (this one) Bit of a bummer for our big family plans but at least we are able to have one more :)
Avatar n tn Question for Valerie.. I have never heard of the reconstruction surgery? I'd love to hear more about that! I have over 50 fibriod tumors and endo but am holding off the hysterectomy because I'm only 25 and I want kids really really bad!!
Avatar n tn I am hoping that Blue Cross and Blue Shield will help with the reconstruction. I am afraid that they will not.. preexisting condition. Someone told me they have too after two years.. but I do not know. I think my present insurance company is required by law to pay.. but they wilo probably pay two thousand. It is going to cost seventy thousand. I am trying to find a facility out of the country . I have not found one yet. I think it is a damn shame that in the US..
Avatar n tn In 1994 I had a very evasive type of cancer that took everything from my ovaries to my vagina. I have never had the money or time to get reconstructive surgery done and now with no insurance at all, I am trying to find a doctor that is willing to take this on pro-bono. Thanks for your responce.
Avatar f tn Now that I have the test results, I have made the decision to proceed with a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction and after recovery a hysterectomy. I have informed the same small handful of my nearest and dearest (I haven't told my children yet) of my decision and all of the sudden, they feel like I am rushing into a major decision; this is all I have thought about for the past few weeks, I feel like I am having to justify my decision, is this typical?
