Do you find that every food you eat seems to adversly affect yous attempts to control your glucose level as well as your weight?

Avatar n tn However, keep in mind calories are the fuel to burn that relates to skeletal muscle energy and can be stored for future use, but the heart uses and needs blood/oxygen (does not store oxygen) on a real time basis for an energetic and normal output. The faster the heart beats more oxygen for fuel increases and can be a vicious cycle...calories do not matter, but an abnormal heart rate can be an indication the heart is not meeting the demands and the heart is being overworked.
Avatar n tn pasta), fat free or low fat dairy products (skim milk, 1% milk, low fat cheese, low fat yogurts, low fat soy milk/yogurt), use plant oils, non trans-fat margarines, and eat a lot of fruits, salads, and vegetables. Eat daily high fiber breads and cereals (oatmeal) and limit ‘junk’ foods. Hoped that helped you.
Avatar m tn I took a blood test and everything is normal. My LDL is low and HDL is on the higher range of normal. I have started eating right and exercising for a minimum of 150 min a week. Kindly let me know if this should be enough to make changes to my health in terms of not being a victim to certain illness in the future.
Avatar n tn Hi! I recently had some bloodwork done which showed a TSH of 2.24(0.34-5.6); Tgab antibodies 35(0-60);Anti TPO 21(0-60); Total T3 129(87-178; and Total T4 5.30(6.1-12.2) which was flagged as low. I've had chronic hives, fatigue, dry skin and hair, obesity, post-menopause (total hysterectomy 11 years ago)--age 51; and I suppose depression, although even being treated with antidepressants I'm still uncomfortable.
3198373 tn?1348243591 I'm 44yrs. old & have my first ever appointment with a gynecologist coming up in 3wks. time. 574118 tn?1305135284 Obviously I'm not a doctor and can't do a good job of explaining it all. If you google "obesity and heart disease" there's a great explanation by the American Heart Association. The choice is titled Obesity and Heart Disease: A Statement for Health Care. I don't want to copy and paste it here. Not sure about the rules concerning that. But you could look it up, look it over and read how obesity can tie in with heart problems.
634733 tn?1316625992 Maybe they should have stated what the odds are of developing obesity in our modern times, the likelyhood and lifestyles and food choice and changes, since the horse and buggy, etc.... ok, rant really done...
Avatar n tn (the first time on my honeymoon) The public health care doctors(I have no medical insurance) told me I weight too much and my hormones go crazy and my brain rejects the pregnancy. I weight 250 and Ive been obese my whole life and I just started a diet program to lose 100 lbs. Avatar f tn However, I am very confused because my husband weighs 420 pounds and falls in to the morbidly obese category. Everything I have read says that hyperthyroidism and Grave's Disease causes unintentional weight loss. How is this possible? His blood test results are TSH - 0.008 UIU/ML, Total T3 - 79.67 NG/DL, and his Free T4 is 1.81 NG/DL. I also read for a diagnosis of hyperthyroidism, one or both the T3 or T4 must be high.
Avatar m tn My wife and I want to begin trying to get pregnant, but she is currently obese and I am concerned about the health risks to her and our future child if she were to get pregnant at her current weight. She has struggled with excess weight her whole life and is skeptical that she will be able to lose much. I think at this point she would have to lose about 30 pounds to have a BMI below 30.
Avatar f tn I also have severe fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, and numerous other symptoms such as shooting pains in my anus, and cramping after sex. I have read the list of symtoms and have almost all of them. I was thinking endometreosis because my fam doctor thought that orginally, but because I do not have periods due to my IUD my OB said it isn't possible. I saw GI and went thru all of there procedures, and it is nothing intestinal related, even though my intestines hurt.
3453160 tn?1398019442 i am reading a book by dr.lance levi about how adhd and obesity can be connected. has anyone heard of this?
602473 tn?1235853158 He consulted with his partner and they agreed that both doctors would be in the operating room if the incision type hysterectomy had to be performed. My FREAK OUT is this: 1. Is this surgery necessary??? 2. Do the ovaries HAVE to come out to avoid the progress of any more "abnormal cells" steming from the uterus? 3. Is having everything in there removed going to cause me to be more prone to other cancers? 4.
Avatar m tn I am also a strict vegetarian and have low iron levels and fatigue. My obesity and fat is all on my stomach, a huge protruding bell and I have male breasts, my arms and legs and thighs are thin and normal.

Avatar f tn If you have more babies the risk goes up for placenta accreta, or other placenta problems. You up your risk of hysterectomy too in future births. The recovery is much longer and usually more painful. Babies born via c section are at higher risk for asthma, autoimmune issues, and obesity later in life. They know this is because babies aren't exposed to bacteria in the birth canal which makes their immune systems stronger.
