Hysterectomy and lifting

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy and lifting

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy 14 years ago and now I look like having period. I had tests A to Z done and all cane out fine. I do not have any sores or dryness. Had a injury to kidney last September, said tube to bladder damaged. They said possible cause. Could that be the cause? I don't bleed daily but I notice when I do activity such as lifting or bending I start to bleed. I feel tired and dizzy.
Avatar f tn Had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. Had ovaries and uterus removed. Feel pretty good but not sure when I should be returning to normal activities. Stomach is alittle sore after walking up stairs yesterday. Any advice?
Avatar f tn I would give it time. I am 4 months post radical hyster and I had issues for a while with that. Just because someone feels good doesn't mean their insides are healed. So don't worry what people are saying. It takes months to heal and you shouldn't be doing any lifting at all, I just wanted to make sure you know that.
Avatar f tn ll be able to better advise you (this is a forum for pelvic organ prolapse, and although sometimes women have a hysterectomy as part of a POP procedure, the issues with POP and hysterectomy/fistula are very different. Someone should be able to address your concerns and you should be able to find quite a bit of useful information about hysterectomy in general in this forum. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Having surgery jan 28th. I had a hysterectomy in 2008 and have had leakage problems for years. A lot of pressures and pain during intercourse for awhile. Didn't think much about til last year, got referred to urologist.he did testing and said I needed a sling for stress I continuance. I wasn't interested since I have had 5 addominal surgeries. This year we saw another uro guy and he immediately said,I needed surgery and said I needed to see an uro-gynecologist..... I was like ...
Avatar f tn 6 weeks. Your body is still healing and Drs recommend 6 weeks for recovery time. No lifting, taking stairs or having sex during that time. Even though you will probably be feeling great long before that you are still healing and have internal stitches that you have to be careful of.
Avatar f tn I had prolapsed uterus for 7 years in different degrees ,and had terrible excruciating at times back pain....4 weeks ago I had hysterectomy and vaginal, bladder and rectal repairs..........I think the back pain is gone......I wont be certain until I am fully recovered, because you have a bit of back pain during recovery...but it is a different pain, and I think the old back pain was due to this prolapse.........
Avatar f tn I HAD HYSTERECTOMY THREE WEKS AGO, I JUST HAD INTERCOURSE WITH MY HUSBAND EVEN THOU HE WAS REAL CAREFUL, AFTER HE CAME IN ME I FELT LIKE I WAS SWOLLEN AND IN PAIN, IS THIS NORMAL, CAUSE THE DR SAID NO SEX FOR 8 WEEKS AND WE ONLY EAITED 4, QUESTION CAN THER BE A FATAL COMPLICATIONS AFTER THIS.
Avatar f tn I would have a detailed converstion with your doctor. I too am a runner. But I just had a normal redical hysterectomy and I was able to return to running. I would say it may take you alot longer to heal, but I am not a 100% sure you will not ever be able to run again.
Avatar f tn And the way your hysterectomy was done would be important for guidance in terms of recovery time and if they did anything else such as any bladder work which is not uncommon during hysterectomy surgery. Anyway, I'd give your doctor a call. But lifting is a no no for a while. Exercising is good to do starting slow especially walking or whatever cardio you like. And in terms of abdominal crunches, has it been 4 to 6 weeks?
717440 tn?1292743742 So my OB-GYN tells me I need to have a hysterectomy and my spouse and I have decided not to have children, so we went ahead and signed the papers and I have a surgery date of May 31st. Here's the thing, though, we never really discussed what to expect; before, during, and after the surgery. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Well when I woke up they told me they removed the tube and ovary. I am now worried on the recovery time. I was not told much and neither was my mom. Am I going to need hormone replacement? And when is the pain that I am still having going to subside? I don't feel like I can move or do anything...... any help would be great?....or ideas on what u did for relief?
Avatar n tn I am priveledged now as a senior.I didnt find the hysterectomy painful really, just sore, and had to be soooooooooo careful.
Avatar m tn As far as your flight attendant job is concerned dont go back to early to this job and lifting is also contraindicated so you may need to consider how much you lift in this job as well. Are you having a Urogynecologist do your operation? they are POP specialists. Ask them as well as to their advise. Some Drs seem to give a short 6 week healing period as advised but most POP ladies need double that in time to feel they are able to function near normal.
Avatar f tn Hi Suecat I am posting to you due to having a cystocele and suspected enterocele and wonder how you are and if you have had surgery for you reported problems in the above posting. I realise your posted a long time ago but not many people seem to report about enteroceles and I did feel you sounded as though you had one from your post. I hope you are well and have remedied your situation.
2114613 tn?1334967053 Consider, hysterectomy is not to be taken lightly. You will need at least 6 weeks recovery -no heavy lifting, tugging, pulling, pushing, or long periods of walking, I cannot remember how long you need to refrain from tub baths or swimming (prevents infection) ...Hormonal replacement will need to be considered depending on your age and how you have responded to hormones in the past. I cannot agree with the the first posting of 4/17. Please consult your doctor or medical staff who know you.
Avatar m tn im 29yrs old and i had a hysterectomy 3 yrs ago,but for the last 2 months i have been getting very sharp pain just below my bikini line on the left handside.it can be unbareable at times.does anyone know what it could be.
973741 tn?1342342773 Interesting. I have a friend who is actually excited because she's had a minor long term issue with a prolapse after birth of her second child and her ob/gyn offered a hysterectomy. She's like, why not? I'm like, why?
Avatar f tn I am going to have a total laparoscopic hysterectomy (uterus and ovaries) in about 2 weeks. 1) How long will I spend in the hospital? 2) What are the tricky tasks around the house that I might do out of habit, but really shouldn't? I'm guessing laundry and loading/unloading dishwasher...what else? 3) How soon after surgery do women start on hormone replacement? Thank you!
Avatar m tn I am scheduled to have a vaginal hysterectomy for cystocele and rectocele. However, everything I've read says they've gained 20/30 pounds as a result do the surgery. Did you?
Avatar f tn Hi! had hysterectomy (uterus and cervix removed), they left both ovaries and fallopian tubes as they were in good health. I waited about 1 and 1/2 weeks instead of one week to get the stitches out (i have been feeling so sore and nauceous and dizzy....and the car ride to get the stitches out reminded me so much of the ride back from the hospital right after the operation...every damn pothole, I felt it!!
