Hypoglycemia treatment and symptoms

Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia treatment and symptoms

hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn The symptoms are exactly what you describe -- light-headed feeling, nausea sometimes, hunger sometimes, dazed feeling, fatigue, headache, hot or cold spells with no reason, unexplained yawning. All of those are possible symptoms, and the symptoms can vary from episode to episode. We do wish you the best in finding the source of your problem.
Avatar n tn Detection and diagnosis of hypoglycemia can lead to treatment that can totally correct this condition. Even if the symptoms are vague and seemingly subjective (which makes most doctors want to shy away from this diagnosis), if you're the one experiencing them, they can destroy the quality of your life." You will notice that sugar cravings is a symptom that is listed. My son had symptoms of high blood sugar for approx.
Avatar n tn Yes, the symptoms you report do sound like hypoglycemia-low blood sugar. Low blood sugar can be experienced by both type 2's and type 1's, though severe hypoglycmia is more often associated with insulin use. You don't say what treatment(s) you are using: low carb diet, oral meds or insulin. You also don't say what your blood sugar is when you experience these symptoms. You need to test your blood sugar on a regular basis especially when you feel "off".
Avatar n tn Hello. I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. If your son has only the symtoms you describe, then hypoglycemia or diabetes are not the cause of his problems. The main reason is that Motrin is not an effective treatment for either condition. Migraines are not common with either condition, and if you aren't seeing any increased urination or thirst, or any of the other symptoms of hypoglycemia (http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn You may not know that a dry mouth which can feel like thirst is one of the symptoms of hypoglycemia as well as diabetes. And logic tells us that if your mouth is dry and you are drinking lots of fluids, you will urinate often. I am a tightly-controlled type 1 diabetic, and the dry mouth feeling that I get when my glucose is low is almost identical to the sensation of having high blood sugar.
Avatar n tn Is hypoglycemia the same as diabetes? What's the difference between type 1 and type2 diabetes? is it the age of the person that makes the difference between the two types?
Avatar n tn t believe that it is related and are upset with her for questioning them as well as they are trying to lower the med doses and stop the thyroid meds. The symptoms went away with the high thyroid doses. Is it possible for Hashimotos to cause these symptoms or affect the pancrease?
1654177 tn?1319838494 Hi everybody! In the past 3 months, I wake up in the morning and my feet are numb. After I get up and walk around the numbness goes away within about 5-10 minutes. I also urinate often and get fatigues (which may be normal, plus I drink a lot of water). I seem to keep my weight down too easily these days, I eat a lot, and I only mildly exercise (walking, hiking and pilates). Anyway, I told my doctor at Kaiser and she ran a random blood glucose test (non-fasting).
Avatar f tn i wake up in the middle of the night and drink 3 cups of water.the dr said i was hypoglycemia but my blood numbers are way off the wall.between 200 and 90s and 70s. then they said i had vasovagal. notthing seems to help me when i get dizzy i lay down (sometimes it takes hours)but the minute i sit up it comes back. it feels like i am in a car thats spinning it is really scary.i had ekgs mris cat scans. nothing shows up. besides the ekg and i have a fast heart rate and slow brain movement.
Avatar n tn and dizzy, nausea, sweaty feelings are common symptoms of hypoglycemia aspects of diabetes. The frequent urination and weight loss and others are common symptoms of hyperglycemia aspects of diabetes. Only a physician can determine, for sure, if you have diabetes, pre-diabetes, or something else altogether. If your current physician was only willing to test you for anemia (are you being treated for that?), then I recommend you choose another physician for a much more complete workup.
Avatar f tn I have hep c and recently diagnosed woith hypoglycemia im very scared what will happen to me TY KRISTINE SMITH
Avatar n tn well this could be the hypoglycemia, i too have it but dont often have symptoms because i eat constantly and eat candy often. but i am no doctor so you should definately ask your doctor about it. hypoglycemia seems to be thought of as not serious, but in fact its just as serious as diabetes, and also can progress like diabetes. you may have been told this 5 years ago but it may have progressed to a higher level. it could be worse. you need to have your doctor check your blood sugar levels.
Avatar m tn if i have autonomic neuropathy am i a diabetec type ii? when i was 23 or 24 years old i had symptoms that i didn't understand. i told a good friend about how i was feeeling and he said his mother has hypoglycemis. the symptoms were the same. so i thought i had hypoglicemia for all these years. i even told doctors and there was no test done.. howeve,r now i have been diagnosed with diabetes tyoe ii.
Avatar n tn If not, then perhpas the narcotic medication is to blame and another medication should be considered. Pain is miserable, but hypoglycemia can be life-threatening (especially when driving), so an alternative medication would perhaps be the smarter approach even if pain is not treated quite as well with it.
1773104 tn?1314155711 Feeling lightheaded, shaky and faint are all symptoms of hypoglycemia, but also anxiety. The first thing you need to do is get some bloodwork done to determine if you are hypoglycemic and go from there. Hope this helps and best wishes.
1770925 tn?1365618522 I have hypoglycemia for years and I don't eat sugary foods or fried foods. I eat small meals 6 times a day. Fruit and vegetables and soy products. Just fish etc. I am just saying that small meals often is the way to go with hypoglycemia. This eating regime helps my sugar stay level and not low, but if I stress the sugar drops and ginger helps me. I am not on any medication. See your Dr for advice.
Avatar f tn This has happened once 2 years ago, I would get hungry or really hungry for that matter at work and i would get shakey internally, sometimes i'd get very warm (I have panic disorder aswell so some of these symptoms could be associated with that) As soon as I eat, 10 mins or so the shaking stops. Not all the time I can get up and go eat at work. But in the past 4 months it's happened three more times. I was just wondering if this could be hypoglycemia?
Avatar n tn After some google-ing, I really suspect that I do have hypoglycemia as I have some of its symptoms such as rapid heart rate, trembling and others. To be exact, after consuming food my blood sugar level is around 5 to 5.5 only but when my stomach is empty early in the morning, my blood sugar level is around 7 to 8. I have not consult a doctor yet but I am under going some self control on sugar level as 7-8 is consider diabetic sugar level.
Avatar m tn In the past if I delay eating I will get the classic symptoms of hypoglycemia, nervousness, weakness, jittery, and nausea. Recently I have noticed at times I have had what I will call discomfort and weakness in my left arm with a headache and numbness in the lower part of my hand from the wrist to my little finger (which doesn’t completely go away. A couple of days ago I had the same feeling in my right arm and hand.
Avatar f tn What is the best, cheapest and most available treatments for hep c, and from your experience how bad off are you if the virus is affecting your blood sugar?
