Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia symptoms nausea

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, when people have what is called REACTIVE HYPOGLYCEMIA (when the body reacts by over-producing insulin, which causes hypoglycemia), it can be difficult to show in a test. I have known people with classic symptoms who surely suffer from this problem who have had negative results from glucose tolerance tests. This is because there are so many factors that can contribute to hypoglycemia -- stress, hormones, activity, what foods you eat, and a myriad more.
Avatar m tn In the past if I delay eating I will get the classic symptoms of hypoglycemia, nervousness, weakness, jittery, and nausea. Recently I have noticed at times I have had what I will call discomfort and weakness in my left arm with a headache and numbness in the lower part of my hand from the wrist to my little finger (which doesn’t completely go away. A couple of days ago I had the same feeling in my right arm and hand.
Avatar n tn Nausea is a symptom that many people experience when glucose levels fall too low -- I have experienced this one when hypoglycemic on occasion, and many people who write in to us with hypoglycemia mention nausea. The previous posting seems to be indicating that your symptoms may also be of diabetes, but this is not really the case.
Avatar n tn The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common? Something more serious with my blood glucose? Something that will effect my heart if it continues? Please help me find answers.
Avatar n tn Nausea and dizziness can both be symptoms of low blood sugar, or, as the previous poster noted, high sugar levels. If your glucose levels are running too high, usually the person shows the typical symptoms of unusual thirst and fatigue. If low, dizziness, inability to concentrate, headaches, yawning for no reason, shaking hands, irritability or depression, sleepiness, or a dry mouth or eyes can be present.
Avatar m tn I am just wanting to know what can cause Dizziness and Nausea? only has happened 3 times in the last 2 or three months!
Avatar n tn Some of your symptoms sound like some of the symptoms of hypoglycemia... You might want to try drinking a half to 1 cup of juice when this happens and see if you feel any better in about 15 minutes. Some of the symptoms of hypoglycemia are: 1. headache 2. sweating 3. sometimes no sweating, but sudden cold chill or warm flush 4. nausea 5. feeling of fatigue 6. inability to concentrate 7. shakes -- sometimes in hands, but sometimes in any other muscles in the body 8. dry mouth and/or eyes 9.
Avatar n tn my daughter is a 20 year old healthy college student who is experiencing dizziness with very mild blurred vision. It is worst in the morning. she has no nausea or ringing in the ears or spinning sensation at all. her blood pressure is normal. we put her through the ringer about 3 years ago for the same problem and the best anyone could come up with was low o2. which at time was reasonable because she was using a space heater in her bedroom without any ventilation.
Avatar n tn Hello D646, We are volunteers here & not medical professionals, so please do follow up with a medical doctor to review the information & suggestions you get here. Many of your symptoms are consistent with diabetes and so it's important that you talk to your doctor ASAP to be evaluated for that. Untreated diabetes can lead to premature nasty complications.

But i have this nitty gritty feeling something is causing BP to go higher...... Can depression do that? anxiety?, Raise your bp to high levels daily???.........
Avatar n tn Tingling sensations, fatigue, hot flashes OR feeling unexplainably chilled, headaches, nausea, inability to concentrate are all symptoms of hypoglycemia. And some people (me included) can have a racing heart and discomfort in the chest caused by muscle spasms when hypoglycemic. Maybe a glucose tolerance test would show how your pancreas responds to stimulus. You might want to start taking some written notes when this happens... what did you eat that day?
Avatar n tn Yes, the symptoms you report do sound like hypoglycemia-low blood sugar. Low blood sugar can be experienced by both type 2's and type 1's, though severe hypoglycmia is more often associated with insulin use. You don't say what treatment(s) you are using: low carb diet, oral meds or insulin. You also don't say what your blood sugar is when you experience these symptoms. You need to test your blood sugar on a regular basis especially when you feel "off".
Avatar n tn hypoglycemia is low blood sugar, and it is increasingly prevalent in our society. Hypoglycemia can cause an array of symptoms, including spaciness, fatigue, mood changes, PMS, sugar craving, headaches, difficulty focusing the eyes, tremors, temperamental outbursts, depression, excessive sweating, hot flashes, palpitations, cold extremities, abdominal pain, and panic attacks.
Avatar f tn 90% of the time she is responsive directly after but sometimes she is unable to speak loudly enough to understand. She also complains of fuzziness in her head as well as nausea. She also feels very jittery and heavy breathing. Blurred vision is also a common symptom she experiences. Also overheating seems to be common as well. She is 19 years old, female, she is hypoglycemic and has asthma. If you could share what you may think it is that would be great!
Avatar m tn So, lately I have been experiencing symptoms what seems to be hypoglycemia. I have recently been diagnosed with IBS, and now I am trying to figure out the other symptoms. like lightheadedness after meals, not being able to stand still, heart palpations and being heat intolerant, dizziness and chest tightness and being tired plus headaches and a lack of appetite and nausea a lot with some tunnel vision or glared vision(things seem too bright).
Avatar f tn I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
Avatar n tn Doctors said she may have PCOS but it has not been diagnosed and they keep telling her she wil have to just deal with these symptoms. she also get abdonimal cramping and loss of appetite with these spells. Sometimes she gets it where they last for days other times just a few hours. She suffers from anxiety but these symptoms go way beyond that. Can somone out thre give me some advise? We need to find a doctor who will look beyond the symptoms.
Avatar n tn ve been weak, drowsey, lethargic, involuntary body shaking (torso tenses up and shakes, relieved by deep breaths) some heart palps and near syncope, near syncope when startled into tachycardia, pulse ranging from 50 to 120 at rest, with near syncope happening at the high end and weakness, heavy aching chest and dizziness occuring at the low end. Also have had some reactive hypoglycemia even after a solid meal.
Avatar m tn The neuroglycopenic symptoms usually include lethargy and malaise, but may include unresponsiveness or seizures. The principal symptoms of ketosis are anorexia, abdominal discomfort, and nausea, sometimes progressing to vomiting. If severe, parents usually take the child to a local emergency department, where blood is drawn. The glucose is usually found to be between 35 and 60 mg/dl (1.8-3.1 mMol/L).
Avatar n tn In the past I have been told I have Reactive Hypoglycemia because I get nausea if I do not eat every 3 or 4 hours and I get headaches, sweating, dizziness, etc. that goes away if I eat. I recently moved and am having trouble finding a doctor because all of the doctors I have seen so far say it is normal for people to have nausea when they wake up. My fasting insulin results are 5 uIU/mL. My glucose numbers peak in 45 minutes at 120 mg/dL and then drop although they rarely go below 65 mg/dL.
