If you are already on a blood pressure med, I would take this seriously, kids don't get high blood pressure unless they have bad eating habits and predisposition to diabetes. I would recommend you see a nutritionist and get tested.

Avatar n tn You need to get examined to rule out a few things such as low blood pressure, postural hypotension (fall in blood pressure, cervical spinal nerve compression, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), severe anemia, an underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism), overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism), adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease), GERD or gastric reflux, and internal ear infections. Avatar n tn If your blood glucose was 61 an hour or two after breakfast, especially if your breakfast was fairly high carb (such as cereal, bread, etc) you might have a specific type of hypoglycemia called reactive hypoglycemia which is people who have low blood sugar after a meal high in carbs. I would suggest seeing your doctor and getting tested to see what type of hypoglycemia you have and to make sure you aren't pre-diabetes.

During my second pregnancy I watched my sodium intake and it helped so much that I did not need to take the beta-blockers. Do you eat a lot of salt? Also, do you have a lot of stress in your life? My blood sugar is much harder to control and widely varies when I am under a lot of stress and pressure. I hope this helps and you figure this out.

Avatar n tn I have recently started working with a trainer and I am in the same shape as you describe. He said the headaches are likely from high cholesterol. I haven't researched this yet but will. I am a nurse and suspect it is high blood pressure, but it would make sense that high cholesterol is the cause of high blood pressure. If it doesn't improve in a week I would go to a pharmacy that has a blood pressure machine and check it before and after class.

Avatar f tn Though not the typical symptoms of hypoglycemia; similar symptoms could also be caused due to autonomic disturbances, blood pressure issues, hormonal/ endocrine abnormalities etc. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Avatar n tn Your husband could be suffering from postural or orthostatic hypotension in which the blood pressure falls on standing up. Other than this it can be hypoglycemia or vasovagal attack. Since he also gets temperature fluctuations, the first things to be ruled out are thyroid disorders, adrenal gland problems, anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia, liver diseases, low Vit B12, and vasovagal attacks. Avatar m tn Pressure of about 120 over 70 is perfect. You need to be on blood pressure lowering pills if you have high blood pressure. There pretty cheep at Wal-Mart. I use them. There are some health fairs at places that will test you for cholestrol for about $10 too. Hope you get a handle on this.
Tbd I get dizzy when it's too low and too high. When it's too high I also get nauseous though.
