My three yr old daughter has suffered from strange morning symptoms for about 6 months now. She will be nauseous and have a tummy ache first thing in the morning for 4 or 5 days in a row.....then she will be fine for 2 or 3 weeks. Some times she will vomit. Within a few hour she is fine. No fever or really any other symptoms. She has seen a GI specialist, and her upper GI looked fine. She was perscribed an antacid, but I haven't seen an improvement.

That sounds like Reactive Hypoglycemia, which is a condition where people's blood sugar drops after eating a meal high in carbs. You could try eating less carbs and see if it improves or you could visit your doctor.

In the past if I delay eating I will get the classic symptoms of hypoglycemia, nervousness, weakness, jittery, and nausea. Recently I have noticed at times I have had what I will call discomfort and weakness in my left arm with a headache and numbness in the lower part of my hand from the wrist to my little finger (which doesn’t completely go away. Your husband could be suffering from postural or orthostatic hypotension in which the blood pressure falls on standing up. Other than this it can be hypoglycemia or vasovagal attack. Since he also gets temperature fluctuations, the first things to be ruled out are thyroid disorders, adrenal gland problems, anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia, liver diseases, low Vit B12, and vasovagal attacks. I was also prescribed Lexapro, Lamictal, and Welbutrin for dystymia and anxiety. I recently taperd off the Lexapro. I now have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia: tingling in lips (its constant, no break) and dizziness at just the slightest turn of the head, heart rate that is averaging 100 beats per minute (this has been constant not in little bursts for about three days now), and tightness in the chest/lung area, slight muscular type pain during deep breathing (also for about 5 days now).

I would see your doctor about this very soon, as folks with hypoglycemia may develop diabetes later on. You may have pre-diabetes, and need to go on a diabetic diet. Meanwhile, make sure you have both protein and carbohydrates with all meals, and with all snacks, which you seem to be doing. You also might need to get a dietary consult and/or see an endocrinologist, for both are specially trained in working with people with blood sugar problems.

hi i am hoping that someone can help me i have pretty much been dealing with low blood sugar for as long as i can remmber but all the diets that i find for it is tring to advoid the spikes so you dont go low well i dont have the spikes so the diet isnt working for me. i am usually in the 70s & 80s mostly 80s 2 hours or less after i eat . can someone tell me what your suppost to do if you dont get the spikes but the lows. thank you.

Hi. I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. The symptoms you have are similar to hypoglycemia, but your blood sugars are in the perfectly normal range. is it possible in severe cases of hypoglycemia for diabetes-type symptoms to occur when the sugar level gets too high, or would they only happen when the sugar gets below the normal level?

Ok. I just recently found out that I'm hypoglycemic. I have a pretty good primary Doctor. But I want a second opinion. She said that with my hypoglycemia, I have the symptoms, but don't need medicine for it, I just need to eat every 2 to 3 hours. So, is that right? Do some hypoglycemics not need medicine to control it? Also, I'm terrified that I will go into a coma or have seizures...

We are not doctors on this Forum, but folks who either are parents of type 1 children or type 1 diabetic folks ourselves. Yes, your symptoms do sound like those of hypoglycemia, but an infection can also cause drenching sweats. When your body is battling an infection, stress hormones are released, and it is possible, I suppose, that your body is just not functioning at its best right now. Whether you have had mild hypoglycemia before or not, of course, we can't tell.

You don't say if you have type 1 diabetes. How low does your blood sugar drop at how long after eating. Then how high does it spike? Are you on medication or insulin?

m in a position to I will take a nap. I asked my doctor to give me a test for either hypoglycemia or diabetes II (as my grand father had this) but he refused. He said I wasn't heavy enough and more than likely my condition was down to my "low" iron count ( he said 17 it should be 20??). Any ideas what this could be down to?? I tend to need to urinate ALL the time, I don't perticularly drink loads but normal amount I would say. Any help would be most appreciated.

Sorry to hear you had such a scary and painful episode. I can't give advice about that specifically, but for your low blood sugar in general, even only having one or 2 a week, you can prevent those. I've had hypoglycemia symptoms since 7 years of age, I'm 37 now. A couple years ago I was extremely sick and tired of being hungry all the time and otherwise feeling terrible.

i told a good friend about how i was feeeling and he said his mother has hypoglycemis. the symptoms were the same. so i thought i had hypoglicemia for all these years. i even told doctors and there was no test done.. howeve,r now i have been diagnosed with diabetes tyoe ii. have i had this autonomic hypoglycemia all these years and if so is that a sign of diabetes type ii? i'm 65 years old now.

t have any idea if I am 30, or 300. I have had different symptoms for Hypoglycemia throughout my life, so I have always tried to be vigilent in noticing any changes. Now, I have no signs at all! Hopefully this will be temporary, if not I will continue to check often. I would love to have the continuous glucose meter, especially at night!

I had a hemithyroidectomy 10 days ago for a FNA that was benign, although I still have hyper symptoms which seems to be tapering off a bit.

m not sure if these symptoms could be side effects from the medications I was taking for hep C (Interfuron, ribivirnin and victrelis).

Though not the typical symptoms of hypoglycemia; similar symptoms could also be caused due to autonomic disturbances, blood pressure issues, hormonal/ endocrine abnormalities etc. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. I can only assume that it could intensify it or make it hard for you to know for sure if you are experiencing hypoglycemia at the time of consuming alcohol. I am curious...do you have a glucometer so you can test your blood sugar when feeling this way? I just asked my son about the tickling feeling....He says that he has just experienced a weakness in his legs, when he has low blood sugar.
