Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia symptoms and signs

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn I feel sometimes worse than a normal low, and my symptoms are more pronounced than before. I was wondering if this had happened to anyone before, and how they adjusted their routine to fix the problem? Thank you so much!
Avatar f tn An intravenous blood sample to test your blood sugar level at the time of these signs and symptoms is the only way to know for sure that hypoglycemia is the cause. It's my guess that's what it was and after you ate the apple you felt better. Please see your doctor just to be sure!
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn you may want to call your local pharmacist and ask if your symptoms (and possibly hypoglycemia) can be an odd side effect of any or all of these antibiotics, and if so, if there are any that do not have this affect. You might also ask if hypoglycemic symptoms could be the result of an allergy to these drugs.
Avatar n tn You may not know that a dry mouth which can feel like thirst is one of the symptoms of hypoglycemia as well as diabetes. And logic tells us that if your mouth is dry and you are drinking lots of fluids, you will urinate often. I am a tightly-controlled type 1 diabetic, and the dry mouth feeling that I get when my glucose is low is almost identical to the sensation of having high blood sugar.
Avatar n tn Yes, it is possible to "outgrow" hypoglycemia. Or so I was told. I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia when I was about 4 and told I had "outgrown" it when I was about 9. Not sure if it was because of the hypoglycemia or because of family history, but I was an overweight child when I was diagnosed and remained that way. I am now 22 and was just recently diagnosed with it again. Though I have had symptoms for YEARS. but the doctors never did the right 3 hour glycerin test.
Avatar n tn Detection and diagnosis of hypoglycemia can lead to treatment that can totally correct this condition. Even if the symptoms are vague and seemingly subjective (which makes most doctors want to shy away from this diagnosis), if you're the one experiencing them, they can destroy the quality of your life." You will notice that sugar cravings is a symptom that is listed. My son had symptoms of high blood sugar for approx.
Avatar n tn Oh yes...also. I have my stages, I can go two weeks, and I don't have any symptoms at all, and then I have these symptoms full on for two full straight weeks. It comes and goes...
Avatar n tn well this could be the hypoglycemia, i too have it but dont often have symptoms because i eat constantly and eat candy often. but i am no doctor so you should definately ask your doctor about it. hypoglycemia seems to be thought of as not serious, but in fact its just as serious as diabetes, and also can progress like diabetes. you may have been told this 5 years ago but it may have progressed to a higher level. it could be worse. you need to have your doctor check your blood sugar levels.
Avatar n tn Hello, I hope you'll find this information useful... If you would like to know more this subject you could join the diabetes Forum. http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Diabetes---Adult-Type-II/show/46 While there is some degree of variability among people, most will usually develop symptoms suggestive of hypoglycemia when blood glucose levels are lowered to the mid 60's.
Avatar n tn My doctor also prescribed me Glyburide. Looks like it is safe for pregnancy, you just have to watch out for signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia.
Avatar n tn The symptoms are exactly what you describe -- light-headed feeling, nausea sometimes, hunger sometimes, dazed feeling, fatigue, headache, hot or cold spells with no reason, unexplained yawning. All of those are possible symptoms, and the symptoms can vary from episode to episode. We do wish you the best in finding the source of your problem.
1773104 tn?1314155711 Feeling lightheaded, shaky and faint are all symptoms of hypoglycemia, but also anxiety. The first thing you need to do is get some bloodwork done to determine if you are hypoglycemic and go from there. Hope this helps and best wishes.
Avatar f tn t think hypoglycemia has specifically been linked to MS, there was some research happening with MS and Diabetes a few years ago and another looking for an association with blood sugar and disability rates...
1949068 tn?1449628519 I have been having hypoglycemia moments. Which that is odd. They have been coming about for the last couple of years. No, I don't eat breakfast (unless I'm in the mood--which is rare). I don't eat until around 12pm-3pm. When I do it? Its small & a healthy meal. I'm not big on sweets and/or foods containing a lot of sugar? Another thing I notice? I stay so thristy all the time & I have the dry mouth as well. So I was thinking maybe I am an diabetic?
Icecream The regimen may be aggressive, but not uncommon for a newly diagnosed patient. I do not know what your baseline lab values were (A1c, fasting blood sugars, etc..) But nearly all newly diagnosed patients start oral medications right away and some physicians are more aggressive than others because it is important to get diabetes under control as soon as possible to reduce risk of long term complications.
Avatar f tn My husband is 40 year's old and has had hypothryoidism and hypoglycemia for several years. He takes one 200MCG tablet of levothroid every day. REcently, he started having severe chest pains. Last Sunday, they were so bad we took him to the ER where they performed all sorts of heart tests and determined it wasn't his heart.
Avatar n tn After some google-ing, I really suspect that I do have hypoglycemia as I have some of its symptoms such as rapid heart rate, trembling and others. To be exact, after consuming food my blood sugar level is around 5 to 5.5 only but when my stomach is empty early in the morning, my blood sugar level is around 7 to 8. I have not consult a doctor yet but I am under going some self control on sugar level as 7-8 is consider diabetic sugar level.
2104507 tn?1333752737 t love it but I must eat it because that what brain tells me, my blood sugar test was good too so no dietetics and no migraine I thought that I have infection in my thyroid and that what it made my tsh high but later I thought about that maybe because the low vitamin D that stress caused is the reason that made my tsh high, and high tsh means hypothyroid and my signs are for hyperthyroid, I have throat ganglion for one week now and i face hard moments in breathing..
1852495 tn?1319545790 Trembling, shaking, cold hands/feet, and a cold nose can all be signs of low blood sugar. My hands and feet would tremble 2 1/2 hours after high carb meals, like I was naked in Antarctica. I had no idea that a glass of apple juice and a piece of toast would stop the shakes in ten minutes. 3/.Do you seem unusually clumsy when compared to everyone else? Your clumsiness or “butterfingers” may be more than you’re just uncoordinated: people with reactive hypoglycemia are also often clumsy.
Avatar f tn I know you asked about high blood sugar, but I also wanted to share the signs and symptoms of low blood sugar from MedHelp.org and the Sugar Sense app, in case it helps you in the future. You can find these in the Stay Well section of the Health Guide in the app. http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn In the past if I delay eating I will get the classic symptoms of hypoglycemia, nervousness, weakness, jittery, and nausea. Recently I have noticed at times I have had what I will call discomfort and weakness in my left arm with a headache and numbness in the lower part of my hand from the wrist to my little finger (which doesn’t completely go away. A couple of days ago I had the same feeling in my right arm and hand.
Avatar n tn When this happens in episodes too close together, the result is loss of warning symptoms of hypoglycemia. So it is important for you to know that the liquids will start raising sugar levels quicker than carbs in solid foods, especially in foods with high fat content. Both will of course raise the sugar levels at some point, but the difference is in timing.
Avatar n tn Below are some of the warning signs and symptoms of type 1 diabetes. A person does not to have all of them symptoms. You have described several of the symptoms.
