Avatar f tn I had hypoglycemia throughout my second pregnancy. I followed the diabetic diet, mostly. I always made sure to eat every two hours, avoided refined sugar and carbs (anything that's going to cause a big dump of insulin, because the rebound hypoglycemia and drop your numbers very low). Avoid junk food. Make sure you get protein. I ate a lot of peanut butter on wheat and milk. Good luck!
6918915 tn?1395932871 I am almost 18 weeks. I should try fruit. I was keeping these granola bars in my car but I used them all and never replaced them. It's like my hunger is so desperate if I ate one cookie and waited like ten minutes it would probably help but I feel like I can't wait like I need more and I need it NOW. So scary. I cant drive when it happens or barely walk and im shaking like a leaf and feel like im 1000 degrees.
Avatar n tn This confusion is common, for the medications that most people are put on to treat diabetes can cause hypoglycemia if overdosed or if the patient delays a meal or perhaps does not eat the usual amount of carbohydrates in a normal meal. So diabetics can and do suffer from hypoglycemia.
Avatar f tn A while back, last summer, I had been on a road trip from minnesota back to missouri, I hardly ate anything but a little bit of puppy chow and some cheese curds, that night while trying to unpack before eating I got really dizzy and shaky, I realize at this point it was most likely from low blood sugar due to not eating, but not every time I go for a few hours without eating when I start to feel hungry I get really shaky and anxious, do you think this is hypoglycemia developing or just associati
Avatar n tn I am wondering if this is true hypoglycemia or if there is some element of diabetes going on here. She was in Children's hospital as an infant and had a really heavy fluid load (going from 9lbs to 14lbs over night) due to a heart problem which is now alright. I'm wondering if there was some possible damage to her pancreas as a baby that we are just now seeing the result of and should I be worrying about these numbers.

10161345 tn?1488138652 I've had hypoglycemia most of my life and crohn's disease for all of it (though only diagnosed a few years ago), so I've always had to be kind of careful. I was wondering if anyone else had experience with restrictive diets and hypoglycemia during pregnancy? At 27 weeks I'm struggling to keep my blood sugar up/stable between what foods are and aren't recommended during pregnancy combined with what my flare-prevention diet allows.
Avatar n tn Ever since I was 10 I've hd these spells and have been diagnosed for hypoglycemia but they are always befor or ater I eat. It come on so quickly and stong and they have been getting worse.
Avatar m tn I run to the hospital every chance i get, but now for the past six months or so i feel like i have to eat every two hours or i will feel like I'm gonna pass out. I am obsessed with my blood sugar levels and i check it all the time when i feel like its low, and it's usually in the 90s. This is ruining my life because at work i feel like im gonna pass out all the time form low blood sugar but never do.
Avatar n tn Keep peanut butter crackers on you and something to drink. I have to due to my hypoglycemia. I have always had it but it gets worse with pregnancy. I also have heard many women getting it during pregnancy and then it going away after.
Avatar f tn Without proper testing results one assumption is you experienced reactive hypoglycemia. Reactive hypoglycemia [or alimentary hypoglycemia] is low glucose [blood sugar] that occurs after a meal — usually one to three hours after eating. Try the following: • Eat several small meals and snacks throughout the day, no more than three hours apart. • Eat a well-balanced diet including lean and nonmeat sources of protein and high-fiber foods including whole grains, fruit and vegetables.
Avatar m tn I've been suffering on and off from what I think is some kind of metabolic disorder or low blood sugar level. I've always gotten the typical irritability/shakiness when hungry ever since I was little, but it seems really out of hand right now. Before a meal/when I'm hungry, I have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia and have to eat NOW to feel better. So I'll eat a snack or my usual meal, but about 30mins to 1hour later I get tired, weak, lightheaded and hot flushes.
Avatar n tn If so, experiment with Orange juice or grape juice or whatever juice you prefer...drink 4 ounces and wait 10-15 minutes and check your count again...depending on which lab you have your blood work done, the normal range is either 70-110 or 80-120...if you are not having a hypoglycemic event, sweating, shaking etc. it's possible that your count is fine...as everyone's symptoms can be different, you need to discuss this with your doctor or a nutritionist...good luck...
2088051 tn?1334542007 So I Was Diagnosed With Hypoglycemia When I Was 15.. I'm 18 Now. It Seems Like It's Gotten Worse As I've Gotten Older. I'll Eat.. Then Not Even An Hour Later, I'll Start Shaking. This Stuff Is Horrible. I Just Need To Know If It's Because I'm Not Eating Enough Or It's Because Of The Food I Eat. Help!
Avatar f tn It ranges from being in the 60s to 120s. The highest I've ever saw it go is 122 but that was two hours after eating. I get mixed reviews…some material says eat 6 times a day (impossible since I work in a hospital) some say high protein diet others say not to… I'm just getting so confused as to what is right or wrong or normal and not normal with this. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn You don't say if you have type 1 diabetes. How low does your blood sugar drop at how long after eating. Then how high does it spike? Are you on medication or insulin?
Avatar f tn I was also prescribed Lexapro, Lamictal, and Welbutrin for dystymia and anxiety. I recently taperd off the Lexapro. I now have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia: tingling in lips (its constant, no break) and dizziness at just the slightest turn of the head, heart rate that is averaging 100 beats per minute (this has been constant not in little bursts for about three days now), and tightness in the chest/lung area, slight muscular type pain during deep breathing (also for about 5 days now).
Avatar n tn The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common? Something more serious with my blood glucose? Something that will effect my heart if it continues? Please help me find answers.
Avatar n tn I have to call the ambulance about once a month or once every 6 weeks. I have another son who lives two hours away and now has a baby. I feel like I cannot go there because I need to be here for my son Zack 28. He is back in school, he has lots of friends and they all know about him. None of us can understand why this happens so often.
Avatar f tn I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant.
