Hypoglycemia labs

Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia labs

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn Went for a normal physical with fasting labs. I got a call from my doctor two days later and my glucose was 56. They were concerned about me being possibly hypoglycemic. Been checking it on and off and reading a lot on the subject but no definite answer as to what I need to be watching for in the future. It ranges from being in the 60s to 120s. The highest I've ever saw it go is 122 but that was two hours after eating.
Avatar n tn My son has been diagnosed with ketotic hypoglycemia. He too is very skinny. He also complains of palpitations and his heart rate goes to about 160-180 by holter monitor but the cardiologist said his echo was normal and the monitor although it showed a fast hr it was sinus rhythm. When he stands up his heart rate goes faster but he is not dehydrated, we keep him well hydrated and his labs don't show dehydration. (nor a fever). In my family we have many autoimmune diseases.
Avatar n tn i have very serious problems with hypoglycemia when my labs are bad. now everything is ok but it will be back im sure. i ate almonds alot to keep floating- right after i would eat i would feel the hypoglycemia and its very hard to lost wt. when i started the t3 the weight came off. maybe you should try adding some t3 probably no more than 5mcg. if you add the t3 you will need your t4 refuced a little.
Avatar n tn Good Afternoon, I am a 32 year old woman who was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism in Janurary of 2008. I took Tapazole for 2 months and the labs have been "normal" ever since. I am still feeling very unbalanced (as if I am on a boat) especially after I eat. I have had every test you can imagine; vestibular, heart etc and they have all come back "normal".
2154088 tn?1336592380 My dog has been having the symptoms of hypoglycemia for most of his life, which have started becoming severe lately. He has a serious food aversion from an illness he had as a puppy, so he tends to miss meals and be an extremely picky eater (an issue we are constantly working on). There are times he may go without eating much for nearly 24 hours and when this happens I give when Nutri-Cal or a product called Stat.
Avatar f tn The price increased in the fall of 2013 and my doc changed my T4 to a generic brand Sandoz at the end of Nov 2013. My last labs we're taken 3/7/14 TSH 1.27 and Free t4 1.42. I have had significant lower back pain for two months. I had an X-ray last wk and it showed significant inflammation in both SI joints with possible autoimmune as the cause. My eyes are so dry that as of a month ago I can no longer wear contacts.
Avatar n tn I have noticed that I feel lightheaded and shakey almost 2 or less hours after every meal. It feels like hypoglycemia. I am taking .025 mgs of Synthroid because my blood work indicates I have a hypothyroid. I was given Lexapro for anxiety because of the other symptoms that I am suffering, but had a very bad reaction.
1571533 tn?1322943509 now my dr thinks that i have hypoglycemia and that the surgeon shouldnt have ever done the durgery bc it wasnt the cause of my headaches... anyone been through anything like this??
Avatar f tn I have asked for testing on several occassions for Thyroid problems due to the multiple symptoms that I have. My labs (which my Dr.s usually only check the TSH level) usually are in the normal range. Many times they are only a few tenths in range of what the labs consider to be the normal range. The last TSH test (over 1 year ago) came back .39 on a range of .35-5.0. I am currently waiting on new lab results.
Avatar f tn Everything thyroid is still questionable but my new doc is monitoring with repeat labs in 3months. The last round of labs following a bone density scan revealed a significant Vit D deficiency. I only have a verbal report and will post the range when I get the written report but the result was 20....the Dr recommended 800 IU p/day but I am seeing reputable sources say 2000 IU with optimal range at 40-50. My bone density showed definite osteoporosis at the lumbar spine @4.6...
Avatar n tn reactive (postprandial, or after meals) and fasting (postabsorptive). Reactive hypoglycemia is not usually related to any underlying disease; fasting hypoglycemia often is. I won't go into them for its another whole subject. If it were me with TSH level as yours, I would not want to be treated and take pills.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar abt an hr or 2 after meals)? I'm 26wks and been having it for around a week now.How do u usually deal with it when it strikes?
Avatar n tn Hi - I'm new here. I have pre-diabetes (about 2 years now) and have autoimmune degenerative neuropathy (CIDP for 26 years) unrelated to diabetes. I am not overweight, and am 32 years of age. My question is: does inflammation in the nervous system cause alterations in glucose metabolism? I'm currently having multiple daily bouts of hypoglycemia - my doctors can't/won't answer my question. I'm taking IVIG, Imuran and Ultram - no steroids or antidiabetics.
Avatar n tn 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar n tn (I think he was embarassed to call and say I was having leg cramps). I told him this was something more than just leg cramps. The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common?
2088051 tn?1334542007 So I Was Diagnosed With Hypoglycemia When I Was 15.. I'm 18 Now. It Seems Like It's Gotten Worse As I've Gotten Older. I'll Eat.. Then Not Even An Hour Later, I'll Start Shaking. This Stuff Is Horrible. I Just Need To Know If It's Because I'm Not Eating Enough Or It's Because Of The Food I Eat. Help!
Avatar f tn I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
Avatar f tn I would see your doctor about this very soon, as folks with hypoglycemia may develop diabetes later on. You may have pre-diabetes, and need to go on a diabetic diet. Meanwhile, make sure you have both protein and carbohydrates with all meals, and with all snacks, which you seem to be doing. You also might need to get a dietary consult and/or see an endocrinologist, for both are specially trained in working with people with blood sugar problems.
