Avatar f tn Please trust in God no matter what. My mother died in my arms and it tested the very core of my faith, but I was strengthen by him and turn to Him now that my mother is not here with me. Avatar f tn "Sepsis" or infection of the newborn infant is caused by bacterial invasion of the amniotic fluid prior to birth. This can occur because the membranes that surround the baby are not totally protective, or can occur after the membranes are ruptured. Also, the longer the membranes are ruptured before the baby is born, the higher the risk of infection. The infection is most often caused by normal bacterial that are present in the mother's birth canal.

Avatar f tn I'm worried I have Sepsis, I currently have a bad infected ingrown toe nail, and I feel generally unwell since yesterday afternoon, so it's now been over 12 hours since I've felt like this. How fast does sepsis progress and if I had it, what would be the symptoms after 12 hours? Thank you in advance!

Avatar f tn I suggest that you would be well served by seeking consultation with one of the lung doctors who provided your care during the episode of sepsis. He/she would be in an excellent position to evaluate your current condition in the context of the sepsis experienced two years ago. I hope that whatever is going-on with your lungs is readily diagnosable and reversible.

Avatar n tn As you probably know hypoglycemia results when a person releases too much insulin in the presence of carbohydrates. That excess insulin is results in blood sugar that's too low and the physical symptoms you feel. DIabetics are taught to treat low blood sugar with some rapid acting carbos -- such as 15gm of carbo in the form glucose tabs/gel, juice, regular soda (NOT chocolate; it's too slow to help).
Avatar n tn Hello. I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. As a fasting blood glucose result, 80 is on the low end of the ok range, but it is in the ok range. If your daughter will develop diabetes, or just hypoglycemia, there is nothing known that you can do to prevent it. You can keep your family, daughter included, more healthy through exercise and a better diet with more fruits and grains, for example, but that won't stop hypoglycemia in your daughter.
Avatar f tn Hi, you would have a high fever if you had sepsis and be very fatigued. You usually get if from either a break in the skin from a exterior injury such as a wound or from an internal injury. So if you don't have any of these I wouldn't worry about it. If you sweat for no reason either it is anxiety or you can get your thyroid checked or other hormones.
Avatar n tn I am just trying to figure out if post sepsis can cause the health issues I am facing now. I had sepsis as a result of a perianal abcess. Since I have had sore joints, teeth falling out, night sweats, neuropathic pain, back pain, constipation, I was peri menopausal after sepsis and now have irregular bleeding and spotting and then occasionally heavy bleeding. Recently I had gross hematuria in my urine and bled for over 2 weeks - bright red every time i urinated. A cystoscopy showed nothing.
Avatar f tn I've been having symptoms of kidney infection for the past few days. Bad lower back pain, fever, nausea, etc. I can't go to the doctor for a few more days, my clinic is pretty busy and isn't open til tomorrow anyway. I was just wondering how long does it usually take to cause damage or turn into sepsis? I have had sepsis before but I don't remember much from them because I also had mono and an infection so was out of it. Any help is appreciated.
Avatar m tn Everyone of them tell us her blood test show no signs of sepsis. Can anyone tell me the name of a doctor in Nevada, California or Arizona that understands what could still be wrong with her.
