Avatar f tn "Tuberculosis and lymphoma are diseases in which night sweats are a dominant symptom...other diagnoses to consider include human immunodeficiency virus, gastroesophageal reflux disease, obstructive sleep apnea, hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia, and several less common diseases." Diagnosing Night Sweats, American Family Physician, March 1, 2003 http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030301/1019.html What tests have his doctors ordered for him? People infected with Babesia may have this symptom.
Avatar n tn hypoglycemia is defined by numbers so if your sugars were normal this likely is not truly what you had. You may have had what we call "relative reactive hypoglycemia" where you feel symptoms from a drop in sugars from high to lower but the number does not actually become low. This is thought to be a risk factor for future diabetes and a sign of hyperinsulinemia, so you should get tested formally using a 2-hour glucose tolerance test to make sure you are metabolizing glucose normally.
Avatar n tn I posted a similiar question not long ago about tremors and trembling coz I get them a lot. I have thyroid problems, menopause, and sjogren's syndrome, but I'm not sure which causes the tremors. But I do no they are definately caused by these hormone disorders.
Avatar n tn This type of hypoglycemia does not lead to diabetes.
Avatar f tn Hi FizzyMoon~I would see your doctor and have him run some blood work to determine why you are tired and feel so "blah" It could be the forerunner to the flu, hypoglycemia, chronic fatigue syndrome, anything, so, please the doctor and let us know how you are doing. I would also suggest you take a good, food grade, multi-vitamin/mineral supplement, this might help with the tiredness as well.
Avatar f tn Hello, Warm weather and wearing too many clothes at bedtime are some of the common causes of nightsweats.Other medical causes are menopause in females, infections, idiopathic hyperhidrosis, taking some medications, malignancies, hypoglycemia, hormonal disorders like hyperthyroidism and certain neurological conditions. Wear light cotton clothes at bedtime and sleep under an A/C if you have a warm climate. Also get your blood sugar levels estimated.
Avatar n tn t menopause, which I knew becz I had a complete hystorectomy 20 yrs ago. I can be comfortable then get really cold. In the middle of the night I get so hot I sweat and have to turn on a fan. Sometimes with the fan on I still sweat. My hands seem to shake a lot. I am 52 yrs old and yes over weight. I do have fibromyalgia but other then that am healthy. I take no meds. Thyroid is ok also. What else could be causing this?
Avatar m tn That could be 101 different things, do you have any other symptoms? I would check out this website see if it helps any. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/dizziness/page2_em.
Avatar f tn over the past 2 months my body has been getting tired to the extenct i can hardly keep awake no matter how much sleep i have. My body just wants to crash and now i have been getting pains the worst in my left arm but also my legs and its like my body wants to give up. Any body got any ideas?
Avatar f tn It could be something to do with the air-conditioning or a feeling of claustrophobia, a bad GI reflux or due to hormonal imbalance as in menopause or hyperthyroidism. At times it can also be due to hypoglycemia if you have not eaten for sometime. If the symptoms repeat, get all the other conditions evaluated. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hi. Geriatric population sometimes have temperature problems but it would be wise to check for other causes. It can hypothyroidism, malignancy, etc... as for your tiredness, it is also common in your age group but again, you might want to have your CBC taken, your fatigue could be due to low hemoglobin. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn t get my period back until after weaning. After I weaned I felt horrible symptoms including, hypoglycemia, high anxiety, dizziness, hot flashes, fatigue, itchiness, dryness, blurry vision, etc. This is the second time this has happened. I'm feeling horrible. I'm on oral birth control to try and put me back to normal. Anyone have any experience with this?
1461978 tn?1285892138 It does appear to be an anxiety reaction and is not uncommon, There are some things that seems to worsen it is birth control pills and menopause. I'm sure by your age it isn't menopause and don't know if you are on birth control pills but if you are that is probably the culprit and you might need to change the kind of pill you take. Also, red panax ginseng extract is said to help it.
Avatar n tn When we lie in bed and he puts his hand on my hips he is convinced that he feels vibrations. Could he be feeling them and not me?
Avatar f tn Well yes, stroke, brain bleed can be a cause of dizziness, and since you have a previous history, there is no harm in getting this evaluated. However, usually this dizziness is accompanied by some neurological sign like numbness, tingling, loss of sensation etc. The cause could be hormonal imbalance due to attaining menopause.
Avatar n tn Hello. I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. As a fasting blood glucose result, 80 is on the low end of the ok range, but it is in the ok range. If your daughter will develop diabetes, or just hypoglycemia, there is nothing known that you can do to prevent it. You can keep your family, daughter included, more healthy through exercise and a better diet with more fruits and grains, for example, but that won't stop hypoglycemia in your daughter.
Avatar n tn I've been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue and recently diagnosed with diabetes. I've have symptoms of hyper/hypo glycemia for years. I'm a 51 years old female, fairly active, normal body weight. I've been closely watching my eating habits and have observed that about 30 - 45 minutes after consuming food (salads, yogurt, soups, generally a very healthy diet) I get an intense rush of heat which lasts about 1-2 minutes. The heat is experienced in my face and chest.
335728 tn?1331414412 I began showing signs of pre-menopause by age 42. It often shows up as an imbalance in the hormones with an estrogen excess. In my case I had bigger and very tender boobies, emotional lability (with more depression) and weight gain. All in favor here of trying the MJ. Good luck and DO keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Hi. Thanks for responding. You asked what I'm usually doing right before I feel "faint"... It's happened on more than one occasion early in the morning when I'm in the shower. I get up at 4:45am and I'm fine when I get up, but when I'm in the shower, I don't even have enough time to wash all the soap off when it starts to happen and I have to jump out and run to the bed and lay down. Within just a few minutes, I'm fine again.
225237 tn?1333138999 It has a really big toll on me an my body!! Could I be having hormone problems?? Am I already starting menopause?? Any advice would be appreciated!!!
Avatar f tn I have been to my GP and i have to have some more blood tests and see him again in 3 weeks will keep you informed. Also i have been tested for early menopause and am okay and Lymphoma thanks again.
Avatar f tn so when I finish I got in line to purchase items, I waited in line for about 35 minutes until it was my turn to ring up. I felt myself getting dizzy and lightheaded but I ignored it since I had already waited so long for my turn in line. I figure 5 more minutes and I'll be headed home, just hold on you can make it.. the next thing I know I woke up with about 50 people surrounding me while I laid on the floor. I have no idea what happened and how I got there.
Avatar n tn I would assume that it can cause vision changes because when sugar levels raise and fall in your body they do so in all of your cells - including the cells in your eyes. This is why diabetics should have a glocoma test annually to make sure none of the blood vessels in the eyes are being effected. Sorry I don't know more but please post what you find out here as well so I can learn too.
Avatar f tn Went for a normal physical with fasting labs. I got a call from my doctor two days later and my glucose was 56. They were concerned about me being possibly hypoglycemic. Been checking it on and off and reading a lot on the subject but no definite answer as to what I need to be watching for in the future. It ranges from being in the 60s to 120s. The highest I've ever saw it go is 122 but that was two hours after eating.
