5150207 tn?1374211560 I've not been dieting, but all of a sudden I lost my appetite. I didn't even realize it, until one morning getting my daughters ready for the bus & almost passing out, it hit me that I hadn't eaten anything in almost a week, with the exception of drinking fluids. I've always been comfortable with my weight. I am tall and don't show my weight. I'm 5'11", and 169lbs never showed much. I stood on my scales after getting the girls on the bus and it showed 145lbs.

Avatar f tn I know Cradle Cap is used for babie's that have it but i just cannot remember the real name for it. Anyways my mum seems to have it and she's in her late 40's. The first time she got it was a few months ago, it started off with a severe itchy scalp and red itchy spots on her neck/back, then she woke up with a shock, her scalp was covered in yellow crust, it was awful she was so distressed, i had to get it out with a nit comb. That time she was suffering from stress.
Avatar f tn so when I finish I got in line to purchase items, I waited in line for about 35 minutes until it was my turn to ring up. I have no idea what happened and how I got there.
Avatar f tn t believe growth hormone is important in children for any reason other than linear growth! The doctor we spoke with said some adults on growth hormone "feel better", but didn't seem to think replacement for adults was important! (My son's current endo is an adult endocrinologist who has researched the importance of G.H. for hypopit patients) Hypopituitary children who are G.H.

Avatar n tn This confusion is common, for the medications that most people are put on to treat diabetes can cause hypoglycemia if overdosed or if the patient delays a meal or perhaps does not eat the usual amount of carbohydrates in a normal meal. So diabetics can and do suffer from hypoglycemia.
Avatar n tn t know if she is seeing a specialist now, but at her tender age, this kind of dangerous problem (severe hypoglycemia that is severe enough to cause the presence of keytones in her urine) needs the specialization of the endocrinologist. A regular pediatrician is just not going to have the experience with this particular problem to be able to help you.
Avatar f tn Take the time to Google and learn about Hypoglycemia and also LADA [Latent Autoimmune Disease in Adults] which is a type of Hypoglycemia and often misdiagnosed as Hyperglycemia. Good luck.
Avatar m tn These are due to something called covert hypoglycemia. Intensive treatment to control diabetes by certain drugs leads to hypoglycemia which may not be recognised by the body. These hypoglycemic episodes are the cause of weakness and loss of energy.
Avatar n tn However, in someone who has a shunt and on examination and history there is no evidence of shunt problems, and if the hydrocephalus is under control, then a feeling of sickness with eating is not expected, and a search for other causes (gasteroenterologic, GI, causes) is necessary. Any food or liquids that contain sugar (that is broken down to glucose) is helpful in preventing or treating low blood sugar.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms of headaches, shakes and lightheadedness sound like hypoglycemia, which is LOW blood sugar. Other symptoms would be if you get hot and break out in a sweat, find yourself feeling confused or perhaps depressed or irritable, or find yourself yawning for no reason. This can happen to people when they have not eaten in a long time or if they eat something that has a lot of quickly digested carbohydrates that cause the pancreas to be stimulated too much.
Avatar m tn Non-cardiac may mean you have metabolic causes such as hyperthyroidism or hypoglycemia; drug-induced causes, structural abnormalities or even psychiatric or stress. For us to understand this, we must identify the underlying cause. Blood tests for glucose, electrolytes and thyroid function tests can be done to rule out other diseases.. An ECG may also be useful in evaluating cardiac problems. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Without insulin, these sugars build up in the bloodstream and the person becomes ill. In Hypoglycemia, the pancreas makes too MUCH insulin at times, and this overdose of insulin, if you will, causes the symptoms you describe. You will find that eating something that has some carbohydrates in it will make you feel better quicker than something that is low in carbohydrates when you feel this way. Many people exeperience this and there can be many causes.
Avatar f tn part (which is a characteristic as well of Type II diabetes) in people diagnosed with Reactive Hypoglycemia is related to the chemical process that causes the Hypoglycemia (an excess of insulin). My quick search turned up dozens of articles so you should have no problem getting more information. I would also speak more to your doctor. I'm curious about that 166 blood sugar you mentioned as that is high (hyperglycemic) not low (hypoglycemic). Good luck on figuring it all out.
Avatar m tn 5 years now and it has been a steady feeling throughout that time. About 5-6 months ago I started feeling this pain in my mid back that is localized the the left upper quadrant of my back(although more midline). I ignore it but it waxes and wanes. So, I had countless tests performed for my fatigue etc, sleep study(negative), EKG(negative), Head MRI(negative), CBC, CMP, Mono, Lymes, TSH all negative. I read somewhere that D-Ribose helps with fatigue, and to my surprise, it actually does.
