Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia breakfast ideas

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn First off, if you get symptoms of hypoglycaemia, you should book an appointment to see your doctor so that he can refer you to get checked out for glucose intolerance and diabetes. You may be sent for a blood fasting blood check or given a glucose drink to find out. All the sugary sweets and candy and simple carb foods (like cakes, biscuits, donuts) are spiking up your blood sugars very quickly, but then the sugar levels in the blood stream will plummet down very quickly too.
6918915 tn?1395932871 I suddenly get very light headed, dizzy, anxious, hot, sweaty and STARVING. I think this is hypoglycemia but not totally sure and I'm going to ask my doctor on Monday at my appt. It happened here and there a few weeks ago but now it's been happening every day and its awful. I end up literally stuffing my face with anything I can find that has sugar because my body feels like that's my only instinct. Then after like 20 minutes of eating and putting my head down I feel better.
Avatar n tn If your blood glucose was 61 an hour or two after breakfast, especially if your breakfast was fairly high carb (such as cereal, bread, etc) you might have a specific type of hypoglycemia called reactive hypoglycemia which is people who have low blood sugar after a meal high in carbs. I would suggest seeing your doctor and getting tested to see what type of hypoglycemia you have and to make sure you aren't pre-diabetes.
Avatar f tn What's for breakfast?
3923358 tn?1358552214 A single hard-boiled egg and apple sauce is not healthy breakfast. Breakfast needs to be healthy with adequate proportions of carbohydrates, proteins, fat, vitamins and minerals. It is not only the total calorie but the distribution that has to be maintained healthy. You would need to add some carbohydrates and fruits in adequate proportions. Diet lacking in carbohydrates is likely to be responsible for the low blood sugar.
Avatar m tn Perhaps you are eating too many carbs or too much sugar at breakfast? I suggest, from experience, making sure you eat some protein for breakfast. If you can I suggest eggs etc. or my personal favorite for weekday going to work mornings--a Zone bar. They are portable and high in protein!
1949068 tn?1449628519 I have been having hypoglycemia moments. Which that is odd. They have been coming about for the last couple of years. No, I don't eat breakfast (unless I'm in the mood--which is rare). I don't eat until around 12pm-3pm. When I do it? Its small & a healthy meal. I'm not big on sweets and/or foods containing a lot of sugar? Another thing I notice? I stay so thristy all the time & I have the dry mouth as well. So I was thinking maybe I am an diabetic?
Avatar m tn just wondering if any one out there has any good healthy ideas for breakfast i wil be making up a list of meal plans and putting there on here for every one to use.
Avatar f tn I suddenly felt dizzy as if i was gonna pass out, palpitations, shaking, tunnel vision and sweating. I had eaten breakfast that morning 4 hours prior to the incident. I had also only had about 4 hours sleep the night before. I sat down had an apple and the feeling went away after about 15 mins. The problem is now is that i feel very anxious about the incident and keep thinking i have a serious heart problem.
Avatar f tn Also, be sure not to skip meals, eat a healthy breakfast everyday and a snack between meals. Many people think that with hypoglycemia you need to eat sweats but lots of foods produce glucose. Your saliva breaks carbs down into sugar so you could keep some crackers or something similar with you so you always have a snack.
Avatar n tn org/diseases-conditions/hypoglycemia/symptoms-causes/syc-20373685 There is something called reactive hypoglycemia. In people without diabetes, hypoglycemia can result from the body producing too much insulin after a meal, causing blood sugar levels to drop. This is called reactive hypoglycemia. Reactive hypoglycemia can be an early sign of diabetes. https://www.diabetes.
Avatar f tn but that makes sense cuz i didnt really eat a breakfast before i left the house, i was always trying to eat my breakfast at work but started the symptoms before i really finished half of it. and eating sugars and crackers and such fixed it.
Avatar n tn m all there mentally. The doctor has done a three day 16 hour fast and said that hypoglycemia will definately show up if I have it. I could have told him it won't, as I have had this done before and the readings are perfect, and I feel great after a fast. Because of this they seem to think I don't have a problem, but every time I have been to my own doctor after having had breakfast, my readings are about 2.1.
Avatar n tn Is severe Hypoglycemia a sign of Diabetes? I have had a normal fasting blood tests. My hypoglycemia strikes with no warning many times throughout the day, even as soon as an hour after my meals. I have to carry glucose tablets and orange juice with me at all times. When it falls low I cannot function. The last really bad episode of this I could hardly breathe, complete mental confusion, weak all over, headache, heart palpitations, very scary to say the least.
Avatar m tn Does anyone have any ideas for breakfast foods that have worked for them? It seems like the alternative is to just eat what you want and have them up the dose, but I'm not historically a pill person, and don't really want to take any more of this stuff than absolutely necessary. Thanks in advance for any ideas!
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with type ll diabetes, why do I sometimes shake, I got this way just before lunch, I ate breakfast, just before they brought my plate of lunch I started shaking, I ate and i'm still shaking
1363339 tn?1338771053 Hi Everybody, I came here quite often to read and get some infos. I am an office worker. I had a 'big' breakfast this morning, small bowl of spaghetti (about 5 spoonfull) + two pieces of bread + a mug of mild coffee (the appetite was quite high this morning). Upon reaching lunch hour (1.00pm), I suddenly got shaky, sweaty, lightheaded, fast heart rate.
Avatar n tn In the case of eating and then having a glucose level drop several hours later, this sounds like an instance when your pancreas put out insulin and then continued to produce the insulin to cover that breakfast after the breakfast finished digesting, leaving you on the borderline of hypoglycemia.
Avatar f tn This has happened to me 4 times already... Started at 27 weeks and now I'm 32 weeks. Actually happened to me today. I asked the doctor and he first asked me if I'm having something with high sugar for breakfast, because it usually happens to me in the afternoon between 12pm-4pm. He says that at about lunch time, my sugar would drop if I had something with sugar in the morning.... He basically told me to not have anything with sugar for breakfast.
1771184 tn?1314037179 it does sound like you have hypoglycemia .. that's when blood sugar goes up and down and it needs monitoring by the Doctor at intervals ,,if you had a bloodtest and it was a bit low it tells me that you do need to eat properly, and in fact mom is right, although a bowl of Cereal in the morns and some toast /yoghourt may help . Eat at regular intervals don't go hours without food , breakfast then a mid day healthy snack , small meals at regular intervals does help .
Avatar m tn I asked a friend who happens to be a nutrisionist and she said it might be hypoglycemia. Now to my question or I guess concern. When I had my CBC done, my fasting blood sugar was 95, I still didn't feel that everything was right with my blood sugar so I bought a glucose monitor to do random blood sugar tests. In the morning my BS is never lower than approximately 85.
Avatar f tn Another possibility is postural hypotension or blood pressure falling with change of position (like from sitting to standing). Hypoglycemia and GERD can be other causes. It can also be due to compression of facial nerve. Please consult an internal medicine specialist and your PCP immediately. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
