I have been having problems with LOW BLOOD SUGAR. I am NOT a diabetic. Example: this morning i was dizzy, glucose was 115. I had a cup of yogurt, 30 mins later my level dropped to 95. After eating breakfast { 1 egg, 2 pcs whole wheat toast and 1 Tbsp peanut butter it dropped to 78. I can not seem to maintain my level and have been dizzy, nausuous and all the other symptons. It is hard to eat 6 meals a day as I work. I try to eat whole grains, and don't use sugar.

About hour 3 I crashed to a blood sugar level of about 37. I have met with a nutritionist and I am trying to adhere to this diet. However, it isn't making me feel any better. My head is very cloudy and I have difficulty concentrating. My head hurts constently and I can't sleep well at night. My eyes burn and sometimes I just feel like I am zoned out. I have a demanding job and this isn't working out so well for me. In addition I feel like my weight is all over the place.

On a recent visit to my periodontal dentist, I received an injection to numb my gums for surgery. After the injection, my blood sugar level sent me into hypoglycemia and I had to have some apple sauce to bring up my blood sugar level before continuing. I have never had hypoglycemia before.

You need to consult an endocrine specialist. You will need to run a few more tests which will monitor your blood glucose level, insulin level and C-peptide level. A CT scan or MRI of abdomen may be done to rule out polycystic disease of the ovary. Sometimes suppression tests are done in a hospital setting to see the effect of insulin. This is what the Blood Glucose Meters do, they measure your blood sugar level by you nicking your finger and getting a drop of blood into the meter, which then shows them a number. During the summer I continued to run cross country, and after about 2 weeks I figured out how to keep my levels up enough for practice. Now that school has started my whole routine has changed.
