Avatar m tn Hi, i have suffered from cold hands & feet for many years. My doctor is not very concerned, but says blood circulation is the cause. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn After having pneumonia a month ago, and taking antibiotics and symbicort, his blood sugar started droping extremely low especially at night. The Dr said to stop the symbicort and it should be ok. He is still having problems. He and my mom are having so much anxiety and no sleep. She wakes up several times a night and finds He is having symptoms of extreme low blood sugar. She force feeds him glucose but sometimes that won't even rise it enough and she calls an ambulance.
Avatar f tn I am a 30 yr old female with a history of slightly low blood pressure and slight nerve damage in my toes. My circulation has always been an issue for me but is not that serious. I consume VERY LITTLE if any caffine and drink no coffee or soft drinks. My last meal before both episodes was around 7pm for both nights. Also, I am 50lbs over weight from having 2 children in the last 3 years, just incase you need to know that.
Avatar n tn Today about 20 minutes after my lunch I started sweating, feeling weak, heart racing, etc. I checked my blood sugar and it was 71 after eating a chicken salad, salad. I checked it before eating and it was 77 so why would it go down after eating a salad and a few wheat crackers? 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar n tn If your blood glucose was 61 an hour or two after breakfast, especially if your breakfast was fairly high carb (such as cereal, bread, etc) you might have a specific type of hypoglycemia called reactive hypoglycemia which is people who have low blood sugar after a meal high in carbs. I would suggest seeing your doctor and getting tested to see what type of hypoglycemia you have and to make sure you aren't pre-diabetes.
Avatar m tn I have seen an opthalmologist who says there is nothing wrong with my eyes, but said perhaps it could be due to circulation, I also have had a couple of treadmill tests for blood pressure and ecg in the last few years, and also a carotid artery scan, they are all normal, my blood pressure is also fine, I do have osteoarthritis of the neck, could this be affecting my eyesight in someway by restricting the blood flow, I would be extremely grateful for your advice as this is really worrying, I hav
Avatar n tn Yes, poor circulation can cause ischemic white matter in brain. When the circulation is poor, small blood vessels of the brain do not receive enough oxygen rich blood and this cause area of ischemia. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar n tn Hello vprrchk ~ we're glad you found us and so happy that you find our site helpful to you! The condition you are referring to is HYPOGLYCEMIA which means 'low blood sugar.' Every person's sensitivity level is different and therefore where one person may remain conscious at a level of 50, another may encounter a seizure at that same level. I did type "hypoglycemia" into google and many, many links showed up, so try doing that for additional resources.

Avatar m tn My dermo sent me for tons of bloodwork related to what he diagnosed as poor circulation in my arms (resulting in a marble rash) he is sure this has to do with blood circulation and is trying to find the cause. Had a low risk exposure 8 weeks ago....is this at all a condition or appearance associated with HIV?

Avatar f tn Without proper testing results one assumption is you experienced reactive hypoglycemia. Reactive hypoglycemia [or alimentary hypoglycemia] is low glucose [blood sugar] that occurs after a meal — usually one to three hours after eating. Try the following: • Eat several small meals and snacks throughout the day, no more than three hours apart. • Eat a well-balanced diet including lean and nonmeat sources of protein and high-fiber foods including whole grains, fruit and vegetables.
Avatar f tn In the (1) condition, the simple carbs will deliver a bolus of glucose right into your blood, creating a spike in blood sugar, and then your body will react by secreting insulin to bring it low.
Avatar n tn Is severe Hypoglycemia a sign of Diabetes? I have had a normal fasting blood tests. My hypoglycemia strikes with no warning many times throughout the day, even as soon as an hour after my meals. I have to carry glucose tablets and orange juice with me at all times. When it falls low I cannot function. The last really bad episode of this I could hardly breathe, complete mental confusion, weak all over, headache, heart palpitations, very scary to say the least.
Avatar n tn lately my blood sugar levels have been dropping low then spiking after i eat, which is making me vomit, is this hypoglycemia, or something different?
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar abt an hr or 2 after meals)? I'm 26wks and been having it for around a week now.How do u usually deal with it when it strikes?
1523917 tn?1302215871 Ok. I just recently found out that I'm hypoglycemic. I have a pretty good primary Doctor. But I want a second opinion. She said that with my hypoglycemia, I have the symptoms, but don't need medicine for it, I just need to eat every 2 to 3 hours. So, is that right? Do some hypoglycemics not need medicine to control it? Also, I'm terrified that I will go into a coma or have seizures...
Avatar n tn About hour 3 I crashed to a blood sugar level of about 37. I have met with a nutritionist and I am trying to adhere to this diet. However, it isn't making me feel any better. My head is very cloudy and I have difficulty concentrating. My head hurts constently and I can't sleep well at night. My eyes burn and sometimes I just feel like I am zoned out. I have a demanding job and this isn't working out so well for me. In addition I feel like my weight is all over the place.
