Hypoglycemia and red wine

Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia and red wine

hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn I don't understand how alcohol can cause hypoglycemina in diabetics. It seems to me that it would cause hyperglycemia because of the sugar in the alcohol. I just heard a story of an adult who passed out twice because she had wine after taking insulin. Her blood sugar was 175 when she took her insulin and within 15 minutes she was passed out.
Avatar f tn I felt my intestines churning and woke up with signs of diarrhea on my underwear. Last evening, again after a great meal and red wine, I took a Tums. In the morning, same thing -- diarrhea signs on my underwear!! Does anybody know if antacids interact with red wine to cause diarrhea?
Avatar f tn Ive had 3 glasses of red wine while I've been pregnant. The doctor says it's alright. But by any means you should not drink everyday or get drunk. once in awhile is ok but don't over due it or get out of control.
Avatar n tn I watch the show (I didn't know I was pregnant) alot, and all their babies ate always fine and these women drink more than wine, but every time they show this, they have a real doctor come on and the doctor always says drinking AT ALL during pregnancy is the leading cause of mental retardation in America. (EVEN WINE).
Avatar f tn before I knew I was pregnant at about 5-6 weeks I had a family dinner and had a some glasses of red wine. I am now 8 weeks and have been feeling so guilty lately even though I didnt know about the pregnancy . Should I be this worried?
Avatar n tn It is easy for me to surmise that it is the sulfites, because it was the inexpensive wines I had been cooking with. I have no doubt, since white wine and red wine affected me exactly the same way. Kindd explained that they have more sulfites than other wines, which I actually knew, so I knew what was making me feel like I had the flu. Avoiding anything with wine in it definitely does the trick.
Avatar f tn The other night my mother and grandmother told me it was ok to have a glass of red wine while pregnant!
Avatar f tn I don't think it matters it's still red wine/alcoholic I guess just go with whatever you perfer, I don't think taste would make a difference it is really only a different taste doesn't make any bottle different to the other unless of course the percentage is more or less depending on I'd say it's brand and price :)
9023883 tn?1402943375 t seem right you can drink that and not regular flavored wine. I thought red wine had quiet a bit of alcohol in it. (Just curious not old enough to drink anyway!
Avatar f tn However since it is still a rather taboo topic, I suggest if you do decide to indulge that you keep that decision between you and your healthcare provider just to save you from judgment and criticism.
Avatar f tn Do any you ladies think its safe to drink red wine while your pregnant???
Avatar f tn What do u think of the idea of having a glass ore red wine once a week?
Avatar f tn I am down to about 2 glasses of wine a week. Alcohol would beat the crap out of me and I could not recover for days. I know make my own Kombucha which has little alcohol, so I drink alot of that.
Avatar f tn It's safe to drink a glass of red wine.
Avatar f tn Yes I have a glass of red wine occassionally and know others that have also drank red wine during pregnancy. I think in your first and second trimester it's one glass if red wine every week and once you get closer to the third trimester it was one glass a day. I was a little doubtful about it at first but after doing a lot of research I found that a glass of red wine is fine, it also has benefits for you and the baby bc red wine clears up toxins in the body as well.
8395982 tn?1399258729 ve heard that it has to be red wine and yes its supposed to be one of thenatural ways to induce labor
Avatar f tn Yes I heard that it's good for u and the baby but just red wine... Dr told me u can only 2ozs.... but my grandma said all the time 8ozs is what u can have Dr don't know what there talking about, we always drink wine every day...lol my grandma was a trip...
10089517 tn?1407726272 Moscato is one of my favs. It's sweet and not very bitter like other wines.
Avatar f tn I drank once in my first trimester, not knowingly...I wouldnt recommend it since the first and second trimester is when the baby is developing. Now the third trimester a glass you know maybe before bed to help you sleep wouldn't hurt the baby, as long as its a red wine...just do not over do it, and if something doesn't feel right then stop of coarse.
7792797 tn?1413503184 I read online that Red wine is OK to drink. I'm not a drinker myself. But I'd do my research before you start drinking. You can get all the info you need. You'll get alot of negative responses.
