Hypoglycemia and low body temperature

Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia and low body temperature

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn Since you have temperature fluctuations on the lower side with abnormal perception of heat at a lower temperature the first things to be ruled out are thyroid disorders, adrenal gland problems, anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia, liver diseases, low Vit B12, and vasovagal attacks. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hello, The normal range of body temperature is 98 - 99 F by oral measurement. The body temperature is lower in the morning and rises by evening, with a range of about half a degree. In your son’s case, this lowering of body temperature can be due to Tylenol.Tylenol which is an antipyretic when used causes decrease in fever as a result of which sweating is there. This sweat on evaporation cools the body and lowers the te[mperature. So I don’t think that it is much of a concern.
Avatar f tn I am curious to understand an experience I had recently. If anyone has theories explaining this would be helpful : I read at a lot of places that the body temperature changes when you sleep, almost always cools down when you sleep. (I am assuming this is because the body is trying to conserve energy, physically thinking, lower temperature would imply lower change in entropy). However, the other day I slept without Turing my heater on and it was very cold.
Avatar f tn Mine also, low body temp and low blood pressure, even pre HCV, sometimes it is genetic. My Mother was the same. Thyroid has always been ok. even during tx.
Avatar m tn He has been hospitalized three times for a couple of days each time recently because of persistent positional dizziness (OK when sitting, very dizzy when standing) and difficulty urinating. His body temperature at hospital check in has been 92 degrees. Today at home it is 92 degrees. Adrenal function checked on last hospitalization and is OK; heart function checked and stable. He dozes off easily. Mentally he's quite with it.
4915340 tn?1360965940 Hi All, For the past four months I have been battling a medical mystery - severe fatigue, low body temperature, headaches, high blood pressure, and assorted back and body pains; previous to Oct 22, 2012, my BP had historically been 110-120/80 and I never had headaches. I was a rock-solid 98.6 body temp previously but now average about 96.3. I've gained over 15 pounds as well.
Avatar n tn Because excess heat can activate Lantus post injection, patients are being warned against things such as saunas and hot tubs due to the possibility of severe hypoglycemia. But I've also seen 'hot showers' included as well. I've been wondering - how hot is 'hot'? In the winter I'm always freezing, and a hot shower was great before bed. I've been hesitant to enjoy such a pleasure since starting Lantus though.
Avatar m tn You might have your doctor test you for ANA - Lupus. People with Lupus suffer from all kinds of symptoms, including low body temperature, Reynaud's syndrome, aches and pains, rashes, connective tissue disease and the list goes on. Hoping you get a diagnosis soon... Wishing you the best ..
1122824 tn?1274107014 low body temperature is related to my condition. I know that this low body temp has been ongoing for many years (10+ years). My temperature rarely goes above 36C. It can and does go as low as 34.5. Most of the time I feel normal, but I find that I get very cold very quickly even in very hot outside temperatures. I also often have very cold hands even if my body feels warm. My fingers will also change colour to become waxy and pale looking.
Avatar f tn I have hypo as well and am prone to low body temp. I thought this was a common symptom. My temp usually runs 97.5 However a week or so ago I was at dr for a sinus infection and my temp was 95. They jjust assumed the thermometer was broken.
Avatar n tn Low thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism) can cause a low body temperature. Diabetes, anemia, low or high cortisol levels, lyme disease or an infection could also cause fluctuations or variations in temperature. If you are concerned you could go to the doctor and have some tests done. Goodluck!
Avatar n tn Once the symptoms abate, the body temperature will come back to normal. You can raise the thermostat slightly and if she feels cold can cover her with a sheet.
Avatar m tn I would like to know the reasons for a continuous low body temperature of 92 -94 degrees.
Avatar m tn Ive suffered from low body temperature for 2 days now. From past 2 weeks I've been dealing with lots of other symptoms including severe sore throat, dry cough and nasal cogestion. It seemed as if once I recovered from one infection another came in. I've mainly recovered now, but since yesterday my body temperature seems very low 95.5 axillary and I'm experiencing dizziness and slight nausea in the evenings and before sleep.
Avatar f tn Well, not all human beings have the perfect bookish body temperature. A person can have a ‘normal body temperature’ that would become lower in certain instances. Another person can have a lower temperature without any cause. It also depends on what time you take the temperature. The temperature is lowest early in the morning and rises by night. The commonest cause of feeling cold is low external temperature.
Avatar f tn see the doc that is seriously low and your blood pressure is probably very low i get low pressure from heart meds and i can lay with a duvet on in the middle of the hottest room and still shiver please go to your doctor good luck
Avatar m tn I was just wondering if low body temperature and sepsis is something that can occur during seroconversion? I had low grade fever for a day or 2, but I have been experiencing drops in body temperature over the past 4 weeks. The lowest I have recorded is 94.3. I just took it and it was 95.3, I never experience fever in between.
Avatar n tn My hands and toes get so cold that they hurt, and I have to use a heating pad to warm them up. My body temperature is usually below the norm. This has only been going on for the last couple of years, and I had no idea it may be related to the other things going on with me. It never occured to me to mention it to any doctors I've seen.
Avatar f tn My core temp has gone up by 1 degree on average (normally have very low natural temp) and im really feeling it.
645800 tn?1466860955 For as long as I can remember I have had a low normal body temperature. It normally run at about 96.3 and since core temperature in usually about 1 degree high this would make it 97.3. I have also read that any core temperature below 97 in considered mild hypothermia. As such it doesn't take much of a lowering of my body temperature for me to start shivering. So it seems reasonable to me that this is the main reason I have always hated cold weather.
Avatar f tn I tend to be hypothyroid and my body temperature has been lower than normal, though not quite as low as yours. Thyroid disease and body temperature are inextricably linked, since the thyroid regulates body temperature as part of the endocrine system.
Avatar m tn Since you have temperature fluctuations the first things to be ruled out are thyroid disorders, adrenal gland problems, anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia, liver diseases, low Vit B12, and vasovagal attacks. Carcinoid syndromes and H pylori infection of the gut too can cause increased sweating and hot flashes.
Avatar f tn Well, not all human beings have the perfect bookish body temperature. A person can have a ‘normal body temperature’ that would become lower in certain instances. Another person can have a lower temperature without any cause. If your body temperature is constant for a particular time of the day or night measured over a week, there is nothing to worry about. The temperature is lowest early in the morning. However, if you feel chills, weakness etc then consult a doctor. Take care!
Avatar m tn Well, I did a little looking, and as you all probably know, low body temp is a symptom of hypothyroid (which I have). Does anyone know what the normal body temp is for hypothyroid? Should my body temperature start to increase now that I'm on the levoxyl? I guess what I'm wondering is this -- if my body temp starts to go up to normal, does that mean my thyroid is becoming regulated?
Avatar f tn FT3 is the most important because it is four times as active as FT4, plus studies have shown that FT3 correlates best with hypo symptoms such as low temperature. Low temperature can be also be associated with other problems as well, but I would start with thyroid testing.
