1353650 tn?1429463374 So, she treated me for the thyroid inflammation, thinking that was causing the fibromyalgia and reactive hypoglycemia. A few months later we discovered what I had because I went off my strict diet of no sugar and my condition came back even more severe. She then decided that I must have insulin resistance due to my symptoms (ovarian cysts, darkening of the skin around areas that are rubbed by my clothing and skin tags on my neck. If you know other fibro.
Avatar f tn t think hypoglycemia has specifically been linked to MS, there was some research happening with MS and Diabetes a few years ago and another looking for an association with blood sugar and disability rates...
1353650 tn?1429463374 My sister just got diagnosed with it and it has been causing her to have fibromyalgia and elevated liver enzymes. My sister also lost her gall bladder for unknown reasons. My mom has it but hasn't officially been diagnosed and suffers from elevated cholesterol and high blood pressure. She has always had mild pain and fatigue ever since her late 30's. She thought it was from work and getting older.
1692515 tn?1306270048 Other associations could be nutritional deficiencies, adrenal exhaustion, anemia, hypoglycemia and hypothyroidism. Fibromyalgia is closely related to chronic fatigue syndrome similar to fibromyalgia but fatigue predominates over muscle pain. The childhood incident that you are citing is unlikely to be the cause of fibromyalgia. Hope this helps. Take care.

Avatar m tn Other than that, Hypotension, Anemia, Dehydration and Hypoglycemia also need to be ruled out. Fibromyalgia does not cause syncope attacks. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I also have Type II diabetes dependent on insulin injections. I take Lyrica and Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia. I would be appreciative of any help!
Avatar m tn I have been having problems with hypoglycemia and I was also have fatigue for the past couple months - my arms and legs felt tired and I feel like I was craving sleep. My doctor found my TSH was 9.8 (5.4 high limit normal). All other blood panel items were normal including fasting insulin. He started me on 50mg levothyroxine. 2 days after I started taking levothyroxine, I felt like I had ALOT of energy, more than I've had in years. I've felt this way for 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn If I lay down my arms and legs get tight and numb and I start rocking back and forth it is so uncomfortable. Also if I sit and watch tv. From what I understand, a lot of Fibro patients have these disk problems. Can anyone relate. I also get chills with no fever.
Avatar n tn I have a severe case of Fibromyalgia (+CFS+RA), 10 yrs now. Same symptoms as you've described+ then some. Full on migraine is worst, cluster migraines &/or chronic headache too. If it is sinus it's chronic - follow Dr advice above and consider a neti pot also (chemist/health food store) adding celtic sea salt and bicarb soda (1/8 teaspoon each) into 300ml of boiled water. Cool to tepid and irrigate each nasal passage twice daily.

Avatar n tn I went to see an Endocrinologist and she told me I had reactive hypoglycemia, insulin resistance and inflammation of the thyroid with normal blood levels. All of these things I did helped my body but it didn't fix the problems. I needed medication for the insulin resistance and thyroid to help regulate my glucose, nsulin levels and hormone levels. Once I started on the medications most of my pain went away.
Avatar n tn Some people have a small built as compared to others. Generalized body weakness can occur due to dehydration, hypoglycemia, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, electrolyte imbalance, hormonal dysfunction. Regular physical exercise may help in building muscle strength. This requires further evauation please get a neurological exam done.

1773104 tn?1314155711 Certainly hypoglycemia can trigger anxiety and panic, but rarely would it be the sole cause behind it. It is common for someone new to anxiety to do serious soul searching to try and find a logical "reason" behind the new emergence of anxiety and panic. We turn into detectives and try to find a sensible reason why it showed up (most times seemingly "out of the blue").
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with benign tonsillar ectopia, fibromyalgia, vitamin d deficiency, and hypoglycemia in June after changing doctors. I was prescribed vitamin d 5000 units and Gabapentin 300mg Capsules. Pain has reduced but numbness and disorientation still there. My hands also go completely numb periodically. Had an eye exam and further testing on my vision. Nothing explained the double vision. All tests to include spinal tap and EMG show normal.
Avatar n tn well this could be the hypoglycemia, i too have it but dont often have symptoms because i eat constantly and eat candy often. but i am no doctor so you should definately ask your doctor about it. hypoglycemia seems to be thought of as not serious, but in fact its just as serious as diabetes, and also can progress like diabetes. you may have been told this 5 years ago but it may have progressed to a higher level. it could be worse. you need to have your doctor check your blood sugar levels.
Avatar m tn For many years now I have been having severe muscles pain all over my body. Usually the pain stars at the back of the head and in a few hours its all over the body including both legs. I have been to so many doctors and specialists, orthopaedic and neurosurgeons'I have been taking all sorts of medication - the ONLY solution seems to have been DEANXIT - it worked miracles.
136956 tn?1688675680 I have most of those symptoms. I have Sjogren's Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and am being tested for Celiac's Disease. Find a good Rheumy and take them a complete list of your symptoms. Even things that you think are trivial may help them reach a diagnosis. If your parents/siblings/grandparents have medical issues make sure to note that in your list. Also take them all blood work results. If the Rheumy comes up empty handed, get a referral to a good geneticist. I wish you luck.
Avatar n tn Have you had a glucose tolerance test to see if your body produces too much insulin as a reaction when you eat? This is a different test from having a simple blood sugar test -- you must drink a sugary solution and blood is drawn several times to see how your body is reacting. Unfortunately, when people have what is called REACTIVE HYPOGLYCEMIA (when the body reacts by over-producing insulin, which causes hypoglycemia), it can be difficult to show in a test.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome that turned into fibromyalgia after my gall bladder surgery. My fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue has been cured after the insulin resistance was addressed with medication (helps your insulin receptors become more sensitive to insulin), low glycemic high fiber diet and exercise. Please go to an Endocrinologist, give them a list of your symptoms and tell them what you would like checked into. You should be evaluated by an Endo first.

Avatar n tn Your neurologist needs to differentiate from restless legs, intermittent claudicating and ischemic rest pain, muscle injury, lumbar nerve root entrapment, fibromyalgia and gullian barre syndrome. Management would include correction of electrolytes, change of culprit drugs, passive stretching exercises of the cramping muscle and drugs like quinine which can cause severe thrombocytopenia. Alternatives are verapamil, gabapentin etc. take care.
