Avatar n tn so wouldnt it be better to take the hydrocodone for ab 2 weeks low doses so he can go through the hydrocodone withdrawal and not the methadone? what if he takes a 5mg hydrocodone would that start the withdrawal process over?
Avatar n tn I dont think using 1 drug for getting off another is a good idea but has anyone ever tried using Tramadol to help get off Hydrocodone during withdrawal period? I stopped taking hydro's about 6-8 10/325mg a day and started taking some Tramadol and it seems to help with the withdrawals. I thought that it would ease the symptoms while the opiates get out of my system. Tramadol is not an opiate correct? I was gonna use for a few days and see what happens. Any ideas? THanks.
Avatar f tn I have never experienced withdrawal from hydrocodone but I am sure it is as bad as oxycodone withdrawal, and you are right, you don't want to go through it. The best way from my experience is to taper your dose down a little at the time, buy some baggies from the pharmacy for daily dose & have someone you trust or the lock box hold them for you.
Avatar m tn I recently discovered a bottle of methocarbomal also known as robaxin i was prescribed like 5 years ago and had read that this stuff can help ease the achiness of withdrawal. My question is, will it help ease the pain and is it still even good after 5 years? I also may be getting some tramadol tomorrow to help with the withdrawal as well...can these be taken together? Thank you for ur help!
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever tried the withdrawal ease supplement to ease hydrocodone withdrawal? I have been taking about 6-8 a day, but I want to stop taking them but am afraid of the withdrawal. Avatar f tn I'm not sure I'm in the right place but I've looked around for an hour and only found questions and answers about this from 2002. I'm looking for help for withdrawal from Hydrocodone. I don't want to stop taking it because it is controlling my pain but my husband will be retiring in April and we are loosing our health insurance. He will get Medicare but I am not eligible. We do have the VA as a health provider also since we are Veterans but the VA Dr.
Avatar m tn I was taking about the same amount and I am on day 15 of no hydrocodone . I never missed a day in two and a half years.... The physical symtoms go pretty quick but the mental struggle is the worse for me. It depends on how long she was on them too. I had a lot of panic with my withdrawals which was by far the worse thing for me. It has improved over time. My ears still ring a little. I haven't had as much motivation either but the physical part won't last that long.
Avatar n tn How long and intense will withdrawal be if I stop 4-5 vicodin a day that I have taken regularly for months?
Avatar m tn I know you want to go cold turkey but after so many years do you think it might be wise to get help from your doc. Suboxone is really supposed to help with recovery from vicodin. I just starting taking it at a small dose and have felt OK on day 2. I have gone ct before and after tapering as I did over the last week or so I would have been nuts by now.
Avatar n tn For your legs, i would recommend getting your self some magnesium supplements, it does help. Also, i have been taking a couple benadryl in the evening to help me sleep/relax. It is an antihistamine allergy medicine you can get over the counter.
Avatar f tn HI and welcome! There are a few things that can help some with withdrawl symptoms, but unfortunately you just have to go through it. The length and severity of your symptoms really depend on how much you've been using and for how long. General health and age can also play a role in this. Here are a few tips that helped me through my detox. I'm sure others will be along with more. 1) The link for the Thomas Recipe is located at the bottom of this page.
Avatar f tn Does anyone out there have any advice for pregnant women coping with hydrocodone withdrawal?
Avatar f tn As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if hydrocodone withdrawal causes calcium, Vit D and potassium levels to drop?
Avatar m tn I am not a chem dependency counselor but I know the Naltrexone DOES NOT help with WDs. It designed to help with relapse. Its primary mode of operation is that it prevents the fun drugs from working so the addict is not rewarded and therefore doesn't continue use.
