What does oxyxodone and hydrocodone show up as on meconium testing on newborns? Does it show up as an opiate? How does the whole test work?
Hydrocodone should show up in compliance testing. Even with the feeding tubes and liquid nutrition, it should not dilute the urine enough to cause a false negative.
Are the tests being sent out for gc/ms or immunoassay testing?
A screening test in office could possibly show a false negative IF the cutoff threshold is too high, but that is normally circumvented by confirmatory testing using either gc/ms testing or immunoassay looking for metabolites of hydrocodone.
Is there any reason a hydrocodone urine test would come back negative if the meds were being taken?
I do not take hydrocodone. I am allergic to hydrocodone. I am at my wits end, what would cause this false positive.

They said my urine screen was negative for the pill I had taken about three hours prior to testing. I have been drinking a lot lately because of some undying thirst (and caffeine to make the long drive there). And I'm not a huge fan of water so not a whole lot of actual water consumption. I had drank about 40oz of a dr pepper in the time since I had taken that last pill and it was several hours prior that since the last one.
Having a very similar problem as well, testing positive for hydrocodone. The doc says it has to be lortab or dilodid -which I am absolutely not taking either of! (I mean heck, I can't take the whole doses of what they give me most of the time) I'm not taking codeine, though, but am taking Percocet, Opana ER, Lorzone, diazepam, Lyrica, & occasionally a Lidoderm patch.
I take hydrocodone nightly and don't take hydromorphone but it showed up on my last urine test..... I'm highly allergic to hydromorphone. Would the fact that I've had to take Ibuprofen for sinus headache have anything to do with this showing up??? I also was taking Maxalt and/or Imitrex at the time. Hydromorphone sends me into anaphalaxis shock within 5 minutes even at the smallest of dosages.... i'm really concerned as to why this has showed up on my urine test...
omg i am on Hydrocodone and when the doctor take a urine sample and test for it. It never passes the test though I take 3 times a day every day and have for years for cronic pain for osteo arthuritis. I am soooo upset I just went to the dr this morning as she has me return every three months for my refill prescriptions. She hasn't done an urine for months until today. She said she is going to take me off this because doesn't believe I am taking it.
i have my prescription bottle in my purse just in case they end up testing me or the baby when hes born.i live in florida and ive read about women getting thier babies taken from them after telling the doc that they were taking it.i was hoping on delivering and not having to tell anyone.im having a csection too,will that make me test positive for opiates anyway if they test me and baby?
The back pain is back and the surgean referred me to PM and gave me the same meds gabapentin and hydrocodone, so I started smoking again otherwise I get sick dont eat, puke bile. PM did a drug test, which I told them about the pot and they said no injections without it but would put me on tramadol due to FDA law.

I just need to know how they drug test them & will they still be in his system if I quit by 30 weeks!
I have been in pain management for over a year. I was first prescribed 5/500 Lortabs 3 x daily as needed. I was drug tested within a few months, there was no issue. The dosage was upped to 7.5 over winter, I was tested 3 months ago and was caught completely off guard when my test came back negative. I was only going in every 2 months and didn't even know about this until 2 months later, when I went in last month.
i'm a 50 yr old Male....i was addicted to Hydrocodone for about 3-1/2 years...It got to the point of taking 10 pills 10/5 hydro/acte a day. (which i found out later was nothing compared to what other people take). it got to the point that i needed 2 before i took a shower in the morning. i was hating myself and i didnt know what to do.I wasnt craving that "High" i was getting from the Hydrocodone, i Just needed it to feel normal....

I did something really stupid and took a Percocet a few days before going to pain clinic appointment, of course I failed the test, first time ever happened. Nurse said tests showed up for hydrocodone. I have a prescription for from a dentist. I wasn't suppose to get filled a year ago but nurse said don't do again. She asked me if it helped. I panicked & told nurse I took the hydrocodone but I really took Percocet. The clinic sent off for testing.
