Avatar n tn I have neuropathy and I take gabapentin thr5ee times a day along with hydrocodone so this means that I take three and sometimes four times a day the hydrocodone, can this be too much for my liver?
Avatar f tn I had a stroke in May of '12 and have chronic neuropathy in the right side of my entire body. I was put on Gabapentin by my doctor and was taking the Maximum a person can take in a day which is 3600mg a day now the doctor has backed off the Gabapentin to 900mg + added 450mg of Lyrica so far I don't feel a improvement, the Gabapentin was controlling the Nerve pain with hydrocodone 5-325 tab morning and noon but so far I haven't found any cure to just be normal again.
5761335 tn?1374262330 One day my my back doctor prescribed a medication to me to also help relieve my daily pain. It was GABAPENTIN 300 mg. I ran out of my regular hydrocodone fix early and I was really freaking out worried that I would have to deal with the DT's. I will be damned. The GABAPENTIN eliminated all of the DT's. No suffering what so ever. I quit cold turkey for a month without any problems other than the diareah for a week which is expected.
Avatar f tn My primary Dr prescribed Cymbalta 60mg and 1800 mg Gabapentin. I was still having debilitating pain after 5months. I recently saw another doctor who for once actually listened to me and took time with me which I did like and he did not write me off as someone just seeking medication. I have never been one to take a pill to fix ailments including for a headache. This new dr. Prescribed hydrocodone 7.
Avatar n tn Hello all, I made a decision 9-10 days ago to go c/t off hydrocodone pills. I have been through the fiery flame part, now its just some lingering minor pains, and the RLS! Which is the worst for me, it just wont quit, does anyone know how long this can/will last? Well I do have the Hylands Restful Legs, and also Gabapentin. Just wondering will it actually help my leggs, and should I fear of this becoming addictive as well? At this point, Im 9/10 days clean, so sorta afraid to even take it.
Avatar f tn m currently on Gabapentin 2400mg a day, Hydrocodone 10mg 4 times a day and 2 different muscle relaxers. They all help to keep the pain at bay. I am 62 years old and also have diabetes, sleep problems and respiratory problems. Thanks for any an all help in advance.
Avatar f tn I have recently been prescribed to Robaxin, Vicodin and Gabapentin for back pain/sciatica. Anyone have experience with these meds?
Avatar f tn I have been on Hydrocodone 10mg and Tramadol for 3 years for chronic back pain. The back pain is better but I have tried to quit taking pain meds several times and went into realy bad withdrawel symptoms. One time my blood pressure spiked up to 207 and I had a TIA event (mini stroke). I am trying it again and have been off meds this is 2nd week and I felt worse yesterday and today than ever. Shouldn't this be getting better by now?
Avatar n tn I am allergic to Aspirin, Morphine, Codeine, Hydrocodone, Tramadol and Ibuprofen. After my last back surgery they put me on Gabapentin several times a day. Now I just take it at night to help take the edge off so I can sleep. Now I have to have a shoulder replacement in 2 weeks and they want me to see a pain management specialist because they don't know what to give me when I come home. I told them to just up the Gabapentin to several times a day. But they don't want to do that.
Avatar f tn I was originally prescribed neurontin for my sciatic pain. It didn't really help with th pain at all. I did some reading on it and found out it is used it some detox centers. So, I used it when coming off of hydrocodone. It made a huge difference. I'd say it took away 90% of the withdrawal symptoms. I only took it for about 7 to 10 days. It did help with the rls and sleep. The only thing that bothered me was a bit of anxiety.
Avatar f tn I have been getting injections for this when its unbearable, but im apprehensive about surgical treatment. I have been on (6 yrs) Gabapentin, now at 1200mg 4 times a day along with Oxycontin and breakthu oxycodone. I'm also taking Celebrex as needed Duloxetine 60 mg at night and Tizanidine 4mg twice a day, as needed, Xanax as needed. In the last month i started experiencing severe depression, insomnia, memory issues, mind fog and libido issues.
1807779 tn?1333840302 My GP rx'd Tramacet for my headaches, as needed. Because of my Gabapentin rx I have to stay away from naproxen.
1474625 tn?1371097079 Today I visited a new doctor for my pain I've been having from a herniated disc between my L5/S1. I just had surgery last month but my pre-surgery pain came back. I'm now taking hydrocodone (norco) 10mg along with gabapentin. I've never had any experience with this new drug and I have read a wide range of reviews for nerve pain.
4705307 tn?1447970322 After 37 weeks of hell, I have found relief!!! More so than taking hydrocodone 5-325 or tramadol 50 mg. Neither of which I liked to take. I am a recovering addict and scared to death of opiates. Besides my knees and back and hands don't hurt as much. Those other meds, 2xs a day didn't touch I haven't had to ***** today, and I am getting my focus back.
Avatar m tn Can someone tell me what Gabapentin or tizanidine is? What its used for and will it help with suboxone withdrawals? Any info would help. Thanks.
Avatar f tn m currently at day 6 of detoxing from a 1 year/15-20 pills a day hydrocodone habit. I have the help of a doctor and am on a whole slew of meds (buprenorphine, gabapentin, phenobarbital, and roboxin). The last 2 days I've woken up with terrible headaches! Yesterday it turned into a migraine (puking, blurred vision..the whole 9!). My doctor switched my buprenorphine to Suboxone on Monday. But when I got the migraine he switched it back, thinking that's what caused it.
Avatar f tn hello Everyone...im on 7.5 hydrocodone 4-6/day and i dont like the control it has over me. Avatar f tn Hey all this is snowflake here have been gone for a long time doing well untill hip replacement.Long story short wwas on hydrocodone for two months taken as directed 2 7.
Avatar f tn I’ve been taking hydrocodone daily for 2 years for cancer pain. I have been taking more than prescribed causing me to run out and withdraw every month. I’m sick of being sick. So I’ve made up my mind to get off the ride. I’m always nodding and grumpy and just not participating in life. I’m wasting my days. So my question is about gabapentin. I’ve read it can be used to get through the acute phase of wd. Does anyone have experience they can share?
Avatar f tn I also have chronic pain. I take gabapentin (generic neurontin) it helps a ton. I have heard it is difficult to get off of, but I'm ok staying on it. It makes me sleepy too. So I only take it at bedtime. And honestly I'm sleeping really well most nights. Good luck with your doctor today!

My 4 th was at bedtime. 3 days ago I decided I want my life back.
Avatar f tn I, like so many of you, started innocently by taking hydrocodone for chronic back pain. I have 1 bulging disc, 1 herniated disc, sciatica and degenerative arthiritis in my lower back. I have also been referred to a neurosurgeon for nerve impingement. :( I am 34 yeras old with a wonderfully blessed life, however Hydrocodone has ruled my life for 2 years now.
Avatar f tn s a spectrum of substance use disorder and you might just fall in the middle, or opiate dependence rather than at the far end of addiction. Also, talk to your doctor about gabapentin as a means of managing withdrawals. While not FDA approved for this type of treatment, it's showing promise as an alternate way of managing withdrawals. It's what I was prescribed when getting off oxycodone (300mg gabapentin 3 time a day for 5 days then taper) and it worked for me.
453029 tn?1205951419 Gabapentin is "Neurontin". I remember seeing something in the news about Nuerontin side effects but can't remember exactly what it was. I know they prescribe Neurontin in jails/prisons for a WIDE variety of uses... You should "Google" Gabapentin/Nuerontin for more detailed info...
Avatar n tn My 77 year old mother has been using Hydrocodone APAP 10/325 or 10/500mg for many years to take the edge off of severe RA. Her dosage is 1/1 PO TID which she has been very compliant and adheres to faithfully. During her last lab visit her M.D. had ordered a UDS along with the other labs. Her anxiolytic medication XANAX came back pusitive yet her opiate panel came back clean.
Avatar f tn ve had problems with addiction in the past, I hurt my back about four years ago, I was only 17, I was put on a number of medications, oxycodone, hydrocodone before that, valium, Soma, and gabapentin. The painkillers plagued me, after about a year on the painkillers my oxycodone dose had gotten pretty high, I had this random freak out, couldn't control it, I wasn't violent by any means.. But I wasn't myself.
