My 13 year old lab has moderate hip dyspepsia coupled with cancer of the bone in her jaw. I was giving her 1 estolac? pill daily but got to the point the other day that I felt she needed something stronger. The vet then prescribed Deramaxx, 100mg daily for pain. This does not seem to be working as well, furthermore I am paying $2.40 per pill!! I wish I were in a financial position to "treat her at any cost", but I am disabled and on a fixed income.

7.5 Vicoden have 750mg acetaminophen per pill......some have 10hydrocodone and 1,000mg acetaminophen. Its easy to do enough to hurt your liver....but i communicate regularly with people from the UK countries that take the 8mg codeine 325 acetaminophen and they take 40+ pills to get the codeine in 4 tylenol #4's......and subsequently are ingesting 10,000- 15,000mg acetaminophen per day. Its not good for you!
I have been going behind my families back to obtain any hydrocodone at any cost and I am afraid it is going to derail my life and my future. I have to do this on my own and need advice on how to detox at home this week. I have already experienced extreme anxiety to the point that I wanted to beat my stomach. It was horrible. How long will this take. I couldn't take the anxiety so I reached for another pill. Please someone give me some advice. Anxieously waiting for a response.
I have a loved one who has been taking three 10 mg pills of hydrocodone per day. She is quitting and is in severe discomfort from the twitching and rls feeling all over. She is incredibly strong and is fighting hard, I'm just wondering if she is about thought the worst of it. She tapered off her dose from three pills to one pill to a half pill in three consecutive days. Last night she had a half pill and the symptoms were awful.
Should this go quickly?
My wife had hip surgery and became addicted to hydrocodone. She went to a doctor to help her quit. He gave her methadone. He gave her 70 5mg pills, which she took in about 2 weeks, or 5 per day. when she ran out, she began withdrawel far worse than from than from the hydrocodone. Can she really becme physically addicted this fast? If so, how long will wd's last after taking it for such a short period?
A little background information I broke my ankle on the 4th of July and after surgery I was prescribed Hydrocodone 750mg tablets for the pain I was feeling for the first month or so I was taking what the doctor prescribed which was taking one every 3 hours a total of 8 per day. Over time as the pain subsided I began taking less per day and at this time I usually take about 4 total per day sometimes less.
I got clean for two years and have been back on them for about five years. I have been backing off the past week. I take one pill less per day now. It was tough but no bad withdrawels. Gonna drop another half for a week and so on till I get to my prescribed dose. I know where you are in your life right now and I've been on both sides. Right now I'm back on the addict side. Since the hydrocodone was not working anymore, my dr. Put me on oxycontin that quickly went crom 20mg 2x per day to 40mg 2x per day. I also had a discography with the pain dr. Perscribing me 7.5/500 oxycodone for breakthru pain. Once I quit tsking the oxycodone pills, I started getting gastro problems, body aches, until I would take the pill. I soon felt that my body was really addictive so i have gone cold turkey. The last pill I took was a 40mg about 30 hrs ago.

Thanks to the new regulations, my clinic has decided at this time not to continue prescribing hydrocodone. I was prescribed 3 10/325 per day, but took 2 1/2 per day. I have never taken more than this, and it was taken for pain from 4 back surgeries. Two of which were very painful fusions. I have arthritis really bad in my spine. I don't want to go back to the pain specialist because of horrible experiences with them. I want to see if I can come off the hydrocodone.

During my last visit, I was told that my white blood cell count was slightly low (followed by "nothing to worry about) and that my liver was 2 points above normal, but that what they look for is more like 40 to 80 points over normal as being a problem.
I crush it because I get relief about 20 minutes faster that way and my Doc told me I would get the full benefit of the pill since swallowing a whole pill usually results in only 50% of the medication reaching your blood stream.
This small of a dose doesn't help my back pain so i alieviate that with 500mg of naproxin and 1200mg of motrin. Its working as of right now. I crush another half hydro pill as the spasms return( about 4-6 hrs).
Sorry I don't have Kaiser health insurance, maybe someone else here does, but those prices sound about right. Those are your "co-pay costs", the "actual cost" is thousands of dollars per month as you have heard. I had Blue Cross of California during treatment and my co-pay cost were similar to the prices you quoted.
Everything is relative-- but yes, that is a large dose. Consider that Percocet tablets-- medications used to treat surgical pain in dose ranges of 1-2 every 4 hours-- contain 5-10 mg of oxycodone. You are taking the equivalent of 70 of the 5 mg tabs every day, when the dose after major surgery would be on the order of 5-10 tablets per day.
The largest dose I've seen in a patient addicted to oxycodone is about 700 mg per day.
Last week I posted a question pertaining to the symptoms associated with hydrocodone withdrawal. I don't seem to be able to locate the responses to my post. What am I doing wrong? I recently had a severe back injury and was taking as many as 10 vicodin per day .When the pain began to subside I discontinued the hydrocodone and immediately began to experience symptoms of nausea,weakness and general malaise. I'm down to 1/2 a pill in the morning and 1/2 pill in the late afternoon.
I need some advice on tapering off of hydrocodone 10/325. Been taking a few of them a day and want to know how to taper off of them and will I feel withdrawels symptoms by doing it that way? I have gone c/t before and it stinks and I am hoping this will be different. Any suggestions? Thanks.
The fact that Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) is an opiate (albeit a more potent one) just as Hydrocodone should help soften the blow from stepping down the Hydrocodone, of which you should immediately cut down to a maximum of 6 Hydrocodone per day, and then every 2-3 days, drop it by 1 pill and spread out the time between doses evenly (as I explain more in the next paragraph), so after 12-18 days, you are no longer taking the Hydrocodone, but you should save some Hydrocodone for later if you have an
