( I just noticed something and am wondering about it. Since I started the Fentanyl patch last week, whenever I take my BT meds (oxycodone), I end up with a headache and sort of long-lasting hot flash. I never felt like this before. Initially I chalked the hot flash up to the humidity here (though I've always been a cold person and never minded the heat. Now I find myself putting the air conditioning on, which I NEVER do.) The headache goes away pretty much if I take 800 mg. ibuprofen.
Since I have been titrating to the correct level for my ms contin, I have been pretty much living on my hydrocodone, and as a result, it is losing its effectiveness. I have been on Nucynta 100mg for breakthrough pain before, but it gives me a very racey feel and when it comes time to rotate off....well...talk about feeling like poop. I have rotated off some heavy duty meds and this one takes the cake and the whole bakery as far as physical detox goes, wow terrible.

Not really any difference. Vicoprofen has Ibuprofen with the Hydrocodone. Vicodin has Tylenol. Strength would be the same if they both were the same dose.
Hydrocodone can be combined with Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for pain. Both preparations have similar outcomes for pain relief.
However according to PM Dr. last 3 dit have shown increased amounts of hydrocodone. I take ibuprofen, Tylenol #4, Prozac, diazyde, devastating, multivitamin, exception, and a topical compound which is formulated under Dr. order. I do not take hydrocodone. I am allergic to hydrocodone. I am at my wits end, what would cause this false positive.
Is it safe for me to take a vicoprofen (5-7.5mg hydrocodone 200-325 mg ibuprofen) after this event. It has not yet been 24 hours, but I have eaten a substantial meal today as well as 2 snacks and have been drinking water. Please, only people who know for sure! I don't want to risk internal bleeding! Thanks all and blessings!
Stopping hydrocodone and xanax after about 3 yrs... Been off and on xanax, weaning down - tomorrow laast day. Quitting hydrocodone c/t.. Just need someone to talk to, ashamed to talk to friends about it.
im not an addict of hydrocodone. my dr gave me narcos for my wisdom tooth being pulled this is the third day. but only second time i have had to take it. it makes me sooo tired. i have four kids. is there anything i can do to get some energy. i can barley keep my eyes open.
I am planning on trying the ibuprofen. My only concern was that I am dependent on the hydrocodone and my doctor is wrong. They are not always right about everything.
The only way to tell is to stop taking it. I just wanted to know if I should experience withdrawal symptoms, what they would be and how bad they would be so I can plan accordingly.
I am not going to keep taking this medication for years and years although I know people with chronic pain do it all the time.
Hydrocodone is available without tylenol. The brand name is vicoprofen and it has 7.5 mg of hydrocodone and 200 mg of ibuprofen, which is the same as one Advil tablet. Vicoprofen also has a generic equivalent. I've found it to be a more effective short-acting medication than regular vicodin, probably because ibuprofen is a true anti-inflammatory which tylenol isn't.
Ibuprofen and Tylenol. Heat with stretching and then ice before bed. Dr's can only prescribe hydro- pain meds, that you get from a pharmacy.
I am having some severe side effects concerning short term memory loss, irritability, and fatigue. My question is will any of the medications i was subscribed or taken in combination have symptons of severe memory loss?
So I have been taking venlafaxine (effexor) 150mg for 3 years now and bupropion (wellbutrin) 150mg for 3 months now and I recently had to go to surgery.I had an ovarian cyst that needed to be drained and my appendix taken out in the same operation. Anyways the doctors prescribed me with hydrocodone (vicodin) 5-325TB , ibuprofen 600mg and Doc-q-lace 100mg and I've taking the hydrocodone, ibuprofen,and doc-q-lace only about four times or less since my surgery on Monday (today is Sunday haha).
Don't use Ibuprofen. Is it possible to get some aspirin? That's safer for dogs. Ibuprofen is toxic. I hope I haven't caught your question too late....

I get urine drug tested every month when i go to get my prescriptions from a pain management clinic. I have tested positive for either Hydrocodone or Oxycontin the last 6 times I tested. I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me. Can anyone tell me if any of the following drugs can give a false positive for Hydrocodone or Oxycontin.
I take hydrocodone nightly and don't take hydromorphone but it showed up on my last urine test..... I'm highly allergic to hydromorphone. Would the fact that I've had to take Ibuprofen for sinus headache have anything to do with this showing up??? I also was taking Maxalt and/or Imitrex at the time. Hydromorphone sends me into anaphalaxis shock within 5 minutes even at the smallest of dosages.... i'm really concerned as to why this has showed up on my urine test...
I have taken Tylenol TWICE, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen in it, nasal spray, a Breathe Right nasal strip (since I do have severe sinus problems.) NOTHING has worked or given any relief. I would take Ibuprofen and that works great for me, but I'm having an endoscopy done today at 10 am so I can't take Ibuprofen and Tylenol has never worked good for me. I had terrible headaches the entire treatment of 48 weeks. After numerous appeals for help and testing to make sure I didn't have a brain tumor or something like that, my GP put me on darvon and then, when that didn't work, put me on NORCO which is hydrocodone with tylenol, but less tylenol than usual. It really helped with my headaches and I credit it for helping me to stay on SOC and eventually SVR. I was taking alot of them though and had to be weaned off of them at the end of tx.
