They can’t prescribe Xanax but they have other anxiety medications that are able to be taken with your opioids that are just as good. You need to talk to whoever prescribed you Xanax and ask them about other Anxiety or Depression meds that can be taken with your opioids that are legal to take with them!
I have been prescribed Xanax and Hydrocodone to cope with the pain of an upcoming medical procedure - my prescription says "as needed" but I only have 2 x 1mg of Xanax and 2 x 325mg acetominophen/ oxycodone pills so 4 pills total.
I'm thinking of taking all 4 (2 of each) simultaneously so I'm essentially "out of it" during the 5 minutes that the procedure will last - is this a safe dosage for an otherwise healthy adult male on no other meds ?
Im a 26 year old mother of two gorgeous children and a great supportive husband. I am a pill addict....mainly xanax, tramadol and hydrocodone. I started taking hydrocodone in 2005 and taking xanax in 2010. My dosage was half a milligram twice a day of xanax and 10 mgs of hydro every six to eight hours. The xanax is my huge problem....Im now up to six to ten mgs a day. no, im not lying. ive hasd blackouts, losing entire days at a time, conversations you name it.
I was originally prescribed hydrocodone 10 twice a day for lower back pain 4 years ago. My pain is now pretty well controlled with Alieve. I continue to use hydrocodone/ib 7.5 in the AM and half that pill in the late afternoon but not for pain.
My question refers to a moderate depression I've had for years that only 5mg Xanax relieved. My doctor advised against Xanax use except for emergencies. No anti-depressant worked or had severe side effects.
I have been prescribed xanax for anxiety and I thought thats what it was. After the second 1mg xanax it was no better so I assumed it was from cutting back on my Norco. A few days earlier I stopped taking gabapentin 600mg 1 time a day and flexeril 2-4 times per day. The anxious feeling was still there and that night I was having charlie horses to the point of soaking in a hot tub. I do suffer from RLS as do both my parents.
Stopping hydrocodone and xanax after about 3 yrs... Been off and on xanax, weaning down - tomorrow laast day. Quitting hydrocodone c/t.. Just need someone to talk to, ashamed to talk to friends about it.
Just be careful because Ive seen peeps here who had addictions and they say w/d from xanax is very dangerous and cannot be done cold turkey. I did my vic/perc w/d cold turkey because I was not ABLE to taper. I tried that about 5 times before I realized I had to just not have any around. Sucked but physical symptoms are really not the hardest or not to me. Its like a flu. Just keep taking one day at a time, and post, post, post. If you can get to an NA meeting you might want to try that too.
I have been on Hydrocodone , Xanax and Somia for over 10 years now. For some reason it fails to show up in my urine dryg screen. I take all my medications the way I should every day. 4 Hydrocodone 10/500 mg 4x day, Xanax 1 mg 3x day and Soma 350 mg 3x day. I have failed my drug screen test 5 times ans all 5 times I loose that Dr. Please tell me if their could be a medical reason for it not showing up?
For fibromyalgia I also take xanax and hydrocodone. Things were at least okay, with pain levels and fibro manifestations to deal with, but nothing like this hell.
At first, I reached for anti-dizziness meds, but they aren't really much help, plus they swell my prostate for which I have had two operations for enlargement already.
ve been taking hydrocodone or percoet for the last 3 years and also take xanax and I just wanted to know is this going to hurt my baby? I do not want to go through a miscarriage again and I want this baby so bad... My OBGYN says its fine to take them in moderation and I'm just not sure if thats okay? Ive went without taking them and ended up in the hospital because it was so bad, not from withdraws just them pain...Please reassure me this is okay....
BTW my anxiety hit the rough after stopping hydrocodone for C-section,ovarian cysts and kidney stones that required stents and lithrotripsy. I was one the hydrocodone for a total of about 17 months.

Hi Sam20111966. I only take Xanax when I really have a bad day/high stress situation. Maybe one pill a week for the Xanax is all I normally would take as needed. I was taking it in larger amounts over the last few days to try and help but it did not seem to do much so I wont continue. Plus I don't want the "lack of Xanax" to cause me more anxiety. Thanks for everyone's feedback and support!

I HAVE BAD REACTIONS TO ANTIDEPRESSANTS SO THE ONLY THING THAT THE DOCTORS HAVE ME ON IS XANAX 1MG. AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE. THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP WITH SORE JOINTS AND MUSCLES IN MY ARMS AND KNEES AND A NUMB FEELING IN MY HANDS. MY DOCTOR HASN'T CHANGED ANY OF MY MEDS NOR HAVE I TAKEN ANYTHING DIFFERENT. I ALSO NOTICED I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP WITH HEADACHES, DRY MOUTH, AND SOMETIMES BURNING EYES.

I have been taking Ambien 10 mg per evening for years and in take xanax only sparingly. Recently, i've had rotator cuff surgery. I was prescribed hydrocodone 7.5 mg every four hours. I decided to reduce the ambien to 5 mg due to the interaction. I found it virtually impossible to sleep in a recliner as they have suggested (due to the sling).and then began taking 7.5 mg.

Had shoulder replacement surgery 45 days ago and after the 3rd day on hydrocodone I started having anxiety attacks at bedtime and could not sleep. ve been seeing a psychologist, which helps a little, and have been taking Xanax as needed. My Xanax use has turned into taking one every night so I can sleep. I've also been taking the full dosage of Hydrocodone (4 pills 5/500) per day for my herniated disk. I can't deny I like the way it makes me feel, but I do need something to relieve my back pain and OTC doesn't work for me. I really want to know if the Xanax or the hydrocodone use could be causing my panic attacks to get worse.
I know this my sound silly, but this is day one of being off lortabs. I took them for 5+ years. I weened down to 2 a day for a while, but then went right back up to 6-8 a day. I know this doesn't sound like much, but I really could use some support through this. My husband also takes lortab and doesn't want to quit, yet. I'm on my own. Plus, they''ll be aroung me, which will be tough, but I know I can do it. I have all the remedies already...Hylands, Klonopin, and Xanax.

Ok I am new here and have been reading posts. I am sorry this will be long but its my story I would like to share and get feedback on please. I have been on prescribed xanax for ten years due to bad anxiety.and I know this is a drug I do not abuse but need to feel balanced. But the problem is two years ago I became addicted to hydrocodone. I quit cold turkey one time relapsed and have been on since. I take about four of the seven and a halts a day.
Me personally, would require a high dose of benzos to induce sleep because I already am on a taper schedule for Xanax and have crossed over to Valium. Should I just do a side thing for the hydro taper after day 4-5 and resume my regular benzo taper? Will the extreme anxiety spoken of as a side effect go away after day 4-5.
I noticed the last time (yes I'm an idiot) I stopped I could not get out of bed anyway for the first two days and just slept. I don't believe I even used benzos.
