492921 tn?1321289896 I know how addictive hydrocodone is. I have taken it for years here and there I don't like it and most the time it just sits in my cabinet. I only take it when the pain gets severe. It's Sunday and my Dr never really gets back to you in a timely fashion on the weekends. I guess I'll just wait to talk to him in the morning after I see my chiropractor.
Avatar f tn I took viocin when I had a tooth pulled early in my second trimester and my baby was absolutely fine and the doctor that pulled my tooth knew I was pregnant and I even called to double check to make sure it was okay and she said it was fine. Hope your daughter gets some relief.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone!! Well im 7 weeks pregnant and take hydrocodone [i have a scrip] I take like 6 to 8 a day. I have my OB app in like 2 days and very worried about whats going to happen. I have done alot of reserch on this an eveything is contradiciting itself. I went to my pain man. Dr an she upset me sooo much she told me that the babys arm, leg, heart, and brain will have birth defecs... then wrote me a script for the hydrocodone.
Avatar f tn Im 29 weeks pregnant taking hydrocodone occassionally for pain. Ive weaned myself off is my baby still suseptable to withdrawl?
Avatar f tn Pain meds can be used quite safely during pregnancy if you take them as prescribed and you and your OB are on the same page about it...that's the biggest key. As long as you and your OB keep an open dialogue about your pain and how you're treating it, you should be absolutely fine. A lot of people are under the impression that you can take nothing but tylenol while pregnant and that's, while ideal, an out-dated line of thought.
Avatar f tn My best friend has been pregnant for 28 weeks and has been taking hydrocodone illegally for the entire pregnancy. Shes been struggling to stop and she's cut down to a half a day because she's trying to quit. I keep urging her to stop and I just recently found outthey drug test newborns in arkansas. Is this all newborns? Will it be in the babies system of she stops now? will they take her baby from her? I would hate to see that happen to her. Please answer ASAP.
1778305 tn?1314483931 When the doc said I needed to wait the second surgery out but they would put me on hydrocodone daily until my son came (14 weeks later) for pain I was stunned. I asked about risks and I was only told that the baby may be born addicted to the drug itself. The doctor will tell you if there is a problem talk to your ob if you are worried and maybe between the three of you you can find some sort of alternative for the pain.
Avatar n tn This is absolutly one time you dont want to take it into your own hands, you will be fine but it can cause early labor and other things to the baby like the above post says! CONGRATS ON THE BABY!!!! Im 2 months prego myself and im on cloud 9!!! but I have taken vics too so i know what your going through there too. good luck and keep us posted!!
783714 tn?1237997265 I am having the amniocentesis next friday and by then I will be 20 weeks.I have been taking hydrocodone for 2 years. I went from 2 10-325 norcos to 1 and a half.Is it my fault my baby may have ds? Will tapering off of hydro harm my baby? How safe is the amnio test?Thankyou for any help you can give me.
Avatar f tn I hope their prescribed but things last a lot longer in their system sense they can't poop or anything. my friend smoked weed through her half her pregnancy and I'd be really surprised if she got to take the baby home i haven't heard from them sense they had it. i smoked a week or two before my missed period weed that is but after that positive pregnancy test i haven't done one thing and I'm still not sure that the baby wouldn't be born with weed in its system.
1794671 tn?1338795391 NORCO (hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen) ® should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Nonteratogenic Effects: Babies born to mothers who have been taking opioids regularly prior to delivery will be physically dependent. The withdrawal signs include irritability and excessive crying, tremors, hyperactive reflexes, increased respiratory rate, increased stools, sneezing, yawning, vomiting, and fever.
Avatar n tn I can tell you that my dr did RX them to me later in my pregnancy due to the same issues you are having and I limited my use as well and my son is fine. He was born early only b/c of my high blood pressure and so they took him about 6 weeks early. Also, before I found out I was pregnant I was taking them for my back pain and stopped the day I found out I was pregnant and my OB was fully aware of all of this. I just want to make sure your OB KNOWS YOU ARE TAKING THEM!!!
Avatar f tn So as long as you have good doctors who support you and know what is going on and you have a healthy pregnancy, the baby should be fine!
Avatar f tn Im sure if he have them to you is safe and wont harm the baby, during all my 2 past pregnancy and including this one, i always avoided any kind of meds... just because i didnt want to take the risk...
Avatar f tn btw, hydrocodone does not contain acetaminophen. Medications like Vicodin and Norco contain both hydrocodone and acetaminophen, but hydrocodone is itself a semi-synthetic opioid, similar to oxycodone.
Avatar f tn I took hydrocodone as prescribed throughout my pregnancy and my baby girl was fine. No withdrawls, a couple of weeks early but almost 8 lbs. She's almost 3 now and developmentally ahead of the game, very smart and healthy. I did quite a bit of research when I was pregnant, and worked with my pain doctor and OB-GYN together.
Avatar m tn pipes? Oh, I get it. yuck. Accurate, but yuck. lol If your refill says 22 days, they will refill it the 22nd day after you filled it. However, very rarely they'll fill it 2-3 days early. It depends on the strength and the frequency of your prescription.
Avatar f tn s best for you during your pregnancy, and if he knows you are taking them, and is in agreement with it, then you should be fine, I just wouldn't take anymore than the 2 a day. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Maybe you should go over to the Pregnancy Community and ask the forum there. This is the Addiction forum. Good luck..
Avatar f tn The doctor put me on hydrocodone 5/325 for pain and said it wont cross the placenta, and its safe for the baby. Has anyone else had to take this while being pregnant.
