Hydrocodone and ambien

Common Questions and Answers about Hydrocodone and ambien

Avatar f tn Thanks for the info. I don't think I'll get over the anger or mood swings until I get off of ambien. I'm 29 days off of hydrocodone. I think ambien has the same side effects as hydrocodone. I just want to be drug free!!!
Avatar m tn 00. I woke up at 5:00 AM and took hydrocodone 5mg. My head feels clogged up. What can I do to make my head feel normal?
Avatar f tn I took it once when I was withdrawing and I am pretty convinced that it slowed my healing time . That's just me though. I would take it only when necessary and not every night.
Avatar n tn i have been taking lortab 10/500 & ambien for about 7 years. i am currently taking hydrocodone compound 15mg(5day), klonopin& alazopram, phentermine(3day), and when i fill a script for ambien i will take up to 7 late afternoon. i will also take the ambien and klonopin throughout the day if i am out of pain meds. i dont know were to start, i have hit rock bottom. i try to stop taking one then start abusing another.
Avatar f tn i'm 71 yrs old. was on 10 mg of hydrocodone for 2yrs and ambien 10 mg for 1yr. i'm on day 3 of w/d off hydrocodone. I quit the ambien for 3 days and thought I was going to die. I dread doing it again. but have to. how long do you think this will last.
Avatar n tn It really won't be that bad, Really. Go for it, you can do it. I've come off much more hydrocodone than that and took it longer too. And worked while doing it. I read water meters and walk 10-12 miles a day. It's hard work, most people (4 out of 5) don't even make it a week at my job. And I did it, and did not even miss one day of work. Hydrocodone withdrawals are mild, really.
Avatar f tn Like you, I didn't think I could do the hydrocodone and ambien. I'm trying to tapper off the ambien also. I was on 10mg. how much did you reduce it and for how long? Thank you for your post.
Avatar m tn I had a minor surgery 2 weeks ago and have been using 40 to 50 mg of hydrocodone the entire time. I am wondering if I will have withdrawal symptoms, if I should try to taper off, or if it's ok to just stop immediately. I have heard that withdrawal is very painful and I am nervous.
Avatar m tn I took 5mg on Wed night which helped get me thru the night. Last night was bad with RLS even though I had Xanax and ambien. I hate Xanax and the way it makes me feel so I'll stick to the ambien at night. I would like to take another 5mg tonight but don't want to set back the withdrawal. Do you think I would be setting the withdrawal symptoms back if I did this?
1162610 tn?1262829016 I wish I could just take an Ambien and sleep through the entire withdrawal process. I feel so sluggish and tired tonight. I've cut down my doses to 7.5 ml and it seems like such a small amount.
Avatar m tn Had shoulder replacement surgery 45 days ago and after the 3rd day on hydrocodone I started having anxiety attacks at bedtime and could not sleep. This turned into more anxiety starting around dark because I knew what I would be faced with at bed time. I was told it could be the hydrocodone so I stopped 10 days ago. I was given .5mg xanax and 10 mg ambien.
Avatar m tn I would like to wean off and an also on Ambien and phendometrozine for nerve pain and Cymbalta. I dont' want to take any of these. I just don't want to end up like I was before taking them if not worse. The hydro doesn't really help me much. I am just over not being able to use my hands and arms much and when I do the pain is very severe. I would appreciate your prayers and any advice you are led to give. Thanks so much!!!!
Avatar n tn Hi Lilygirl, I assume it is your 81 year old mother that has been prescribed both the Ambien (Zolpidem Tartrate) and Vicodin (Hydrocodone)? Together, especially if they are new to her system, they can pack a wallop for a sedentary, frail senior. Their systems appear are more sensitive to these types of medications. Most every web-site lists a warning for use of Ambien in the elderly population.
403399 tn?1201833095 Like you my worst symptom was RLS, and sleep...I even had it in my arms and shoulders, don't wish that on anyone!! i know some took ambiem the first few days and it helped, some it made them do things they didn't remember.... The thing that worked best for me was zanaflex, and of course like Alli said, many many hot baths...
Avatar n tn My heart is full of love now and I would never have enjoyed that completely if I was on paxil, ambien, and xanax. Now I can smell, I've lost 22 pounds, I'm so happy, I'm still poor but so what. I know what I'm doing and I can make very good decisions and understand the consequences. I love you out there, whoever you are. Take care.
Avatar m tn I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me. Can anyone tell me if any of the following drugs can give a false positive for Hydrocodone or Oxycontin. The following drugs are all i take, No more and no less. Fentanyl 50mcg. Tylenol3, Tylenol, Norflex, Ambien,Seroquel, Cymbalta, Ibuprofen and Naproxen. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Avatar f tn Hi Tooter... I'm so sorry to hear you are still struggling with pain and sleep. I am on day 28 today and I am struggling still also. Like I've said before, the vet prescribed my poor baby Chihuahua, a huge bottle of Hydrocodone 5 mg cough syrup, just sitting there on my kitchen counter. God how many times have I walked by it and just wanted to drink the whole thing down. But I don't. I know what you are going through Tooter. Believe me, I do.
Avatar f tn Well that being said, I am addicted to hydrocodone and ambien, which started innocently enough but very quickly grew into something far beyond pain management. Since I was 21 its been one addiction or another. I smoked meth for several years and one day hated myself so much that with Gods help I walked away clean and never again had so much as a twinge of want for it again.
Avatar n tn My psychiatrist was the one who wouldn’t get me off what he put me on. Well here I am in February 2020 and quitting hydrocodone again. Was trying to quit Xanax which I only take .5 in the morning and .5 in the evening. The pain in my body got worse, so I started taking hydrocodone again, Dr knows, only allow myself one pill a day of .5 or 7.5. I’ve decided I really don’t want this poison in my body anymore. On day 2 of quitting and having headaches, peeing a lot, cold/hot sweats, nightmares.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking a sleeping pill called ambien, I also take hydrocodone, lexapo, lorazepam, sometimes meclizine if my stomach is nautious. So I began to take all my meds then I started on the ambien I took 1 at night now im taking sometimes 3-4-5 a day all through out the day and I dont understand why?
Avatar m tn Anything that feeds the reward center in the brain will probably make wds easier, but also probably draw the process out quite a bit ( in my opinion ), i was recently given a script for ambien and after researching a lot about on the net proceeded to flush the rest down the toilet ( give me a big hug benadryl ) lol, its your call but i would stay away from them and just get it over with.
Avatar f tn I have taken ambien off and on for 10 years or so and never have noticed a tolerence to it or any addiction to it...I just fall asleep after 15 minutes or so and I take a very small dose...like 2.5 mg or 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet...How much are you taking each day...I went to a lecture on ambien just not too long ago and a friend of mine said she abused it but had no trouble quitting ...no WDs...
Avatar f tn t stand the thought if taking hydrocodone any longer. Today is 36 hr and day 2. Hot baths this p.m. and Advil today.
Avatar f tn I had valium and ambien for the first 5 days. I used after 2 weeks. then I really went cold turkey, no ambien or valium. But I drank alot of water. made myself exercise. took vitamins and antioxidants. Prayed and posted.
Avatar n tn not enough to even worry about right now, though. Ambien is of course a new sleep aid and the jury is still out. People have amnesia on ambien. They go to sleep, but then wake and do silly/stupid stuff. They have no recollection of this after they awaken. One case went so far as to claim a homicide that the defendant had no memory of. That one did not work. A tolerance and dependance will develop with the zanax if used for a great length of time.
Avatar n tn Been socially using hydrocodone and tramadol for years. Recently (several months) been taking pills at least four days/week. On the weekends I may take 40mg hydrocodone in a night with muscle relaxers, and Lyricas. Anyway I've been feeling pretty depressed and moody lately especially on days without drugs. I can't sleep without Ambien, Valerien or Melatonin. My quality of life pretty much sucks. I've become very antisocial. Today is day 4 without drugs.
1741355 tn?1311457956 Hi - Congrats on your accomplishment and seeing light at the end of the tunnel! I'm 18 days free from hydrocodone - but haven't been so lucky to see the light... I was having trouble sleeping also and my Doc prescribed Ambien to help. DON"T DO IT. I took it 12 nights, and it made me extremely anxious and now have to withdrawal for Ambien! It's just as bad a wd from hydro - maybe worse - I just HOPE it doesn't last too long...
401095 tn?1351391770 agree...did not know it was habit forming...I take ambien to sleep and have never abused that in the past either....scared to take anything now...I also have polytussin cough syrup and we all know that has hydrocodone in it ....Last time I was out of pills(mind you "out of pills, not quit") for 2 months I took that 3 times a day and made it...but I know it is a substitute and the lortab will not leave my system if i take it to curb the WDs...should I trash it?
1218318 tn?1266808601 Wow that really stricks home but I take a lot more ambien, I am coming of vics once again and use ambien more to help sleep. I find that xanex or valuim actaually helps me sleep more when having opiate wd. That scares me to know that I will now suffer from the other crap too. I thought if i beat the hydros I would be good. Good for you for staying clean so long!
