Avatar f tn I am wondering that once this fluid wears off in 6-12 months, does the knee go back to how it use to be, or is the the body no longer capable of making it's own synvovial fluid?
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar m tn No better or worse. Exercise, diet, Cordisone and Hyaluronic injections acid, rubs, creams, fat stem cell shots...Knee ex-rays show I do have medial bone on bone in knees and osteoarthritis (OA). I felt a bit like I had a brain fog so I got checked out for that. One test after another. MRIs and auto immune test. inconclusive but what lead to further test was something in my blood told doctors I could have an auto immune but not which one. Doctors also said my B12 and D6 were way low.
Avatar f tn t work so well for the bone on bone pain in the thumb joint and works so well for the same bone on bone pain in the knee!!! Hope i hear from someone/anyone who's gotten relief in this area.
Avatar f tn You might be talking about hyaluronic acid. That's what comes up in a google search. It is used to aid reduction of inflammation and as a joint lubricant. I used it for horses 20 years ago, and it was the successful use in sport horses that prompted its use in people. I think whether or not it's helpful depends on too many factors for anyone to advise you over the internet. Ask his doctor if hyaluronic acid will help.

Avatar m tn I movies into a house with stairs and when I walk or run up the i feel a ripping sensation in my knee. That’s the only way I can describe it. It doesn’t hurt on impact it hurt when I take off so to speak. Also when I have my knee bent for a long time it’s very hard to straighten it. Sometimes when I walk the wrong way I drop to the ground suddenly because the pain is so bad. The only thing is is that it is not persistent. It’s not a constant pain.
Avatar m tn s important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost. So hyaluronic acid has become a widely used substance among plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
Avatar n tn I've had this knee pain (left and right) for almost a yr already. The symptoms are as follows: Grinding / grating sensation upon flexing the knee. Aching pain at and below the patella. Difficulty straightening the knee. Pain is most servere when putting weight or pressure on it. Pain can be felt when climbing up the stairs, jumping, running and standing for prolonged periods. In addition, pain can be felt behind the knee cap.
Avatar f tn Please add Omega 3 Fatty acids at a dose of 250 mg twice daily. Adequan and hyaluronic acid injections will also help. Other natural remedies: Dog Gone Pain, Acupuncture, Physical Therapy, Prolotherapy, Stem Cell Therapy, Chinese Herbal Formulas: Benefits Hips and Knees, Di Gu Pi, Loranthus Combination and more. Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatories, such as Rimadyl, or Previcox or equivalent, and Tramadol are helpful in conjunction with holistic therapies.
Avatar m tn is the left knee, and a recent accident disclosed a torn cartilage and arthritis in the left knee (and some swelling behind the knee.....no pain, just swollen). One injection of Cartisone and 1 weekly injection of Hyaluronic Acid for 3 weeks brought some relief, but very little. I read about Castor Oil Packs and within 1 hour, I eliminated the swelling (had been swollen for almost 4 months) and daily treatments of COP has eliminated 95% of all discomfort....
Avatar m tn I had a popping in the knee and it turned out to be extra tissue in between my femur and patella. It could be a possibility of some extra tissue or your knee could not be aligned properly. Just ideas.
517981 tn?1216782018 s for a recheck on the MRSA and the dr. was shocked to see that the analasis of the fluid showed no infection but was high in uric acid. Now what, I had to have blood work to look for uric acid. If thats negetive then a 24 hr urine test. I am so damn frustrated its depressing me. What I am interested in is how to treat the gout. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Some patients swear by the joint supplements, such as chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, and glucosamine. There is some anecdotal evidence that these may help thicken the cartilage, but no strict research has ever shown this to be true.
Avatar m tn that were causing impingement. unfortunately the spurs also shredded the cartilage and the surgeon had to remove around a quarter of it from the socket. I have been active my whole life; playing soccer at a competitive level however the surgeon has strongly suggested I never play again or else I will need a hip replacement. I want to know if there are any options to regain the cartilage in my hip??
482924 tn?1333203671 I'm having pain in the left knee for the past few months which has now spread to other joints like the ankle, right knee, wrist, fingers, hip etc. I've been to an orthopaedic. Knee x-ray shows arthritis. Blood test results for uric acid was 6.9. Doc gave me meds. After 1 month repeat test showed uric acid as 3.5. But pain in the joints have worsened. Doctor told me to get blood reports for serum calcium, vit d & anti ccp. Tsh too. Reports were - Ca 9.0, TSH - 1.
Avatar n tn Juvederm is basically an injectible filler used by cosmetic, dermatological, and plastic surgeons to soften deep folds and reduce wrinkles in the faces of patients. It consists of hyaluronic acid which is found normally in muscles, skin and tendons of mammals. Although it has many side effects like redness, pain and tenderness during injections and swelling and bruising at the injection sites but all these are temporary side effects which go away in a few days.
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
Avatar n tn My younger sister had the injections in one knee and thought it worked wonderfully. She had her other knee replaced. Anyway - I've had 2 of the injections and go for the last (3rd) next week. I didn't notice immediate relief, but my research indicated it can take a few weeks for the effects to be felt. My dr also told me that. Since the dr didn't give me an patient info about the injections, I went on Synvic's web-site and printed out a copy from there.
159619 tn?1707018272 I posted a couple of weeks ago about a recent MCL injury. I got my MRI results back and it does show a grade II MCL injury without a complete tear. However, it also showed "significant early tricompartmenal degenerative changes, greatest in the patellofemerol compartment as well as areas of significant chondral thinning and irregularity". I knew I had this going on in the other knee and we always suspected it in this one, I guess we just confirmed OA is getting worse.
Avatar m tn Can somebody from the old school on this hep.
Avatar n tn She experiences stiffness in the hands when she wakes up in the morning. She has also fainted couple of times after severe pain in the neck. She is also experiencing pain in both the shoulders and neck. Multiple doctors have tried multiple things but nothing has helped more than adding minor improvement. Earlier her HB was very low which is well in the range since last one year but even then her pain has not gone completely though the pain has reduced.
Avatar n tn Hi, ...I had a flare of acid after being in the hospital for surgery...I had to get on my meds and take OTC Maalox and watch my diet...it took 2 to 3 weeks to calm it down...but there r many meds and drugs that can cause this to happen.
