I am on Endocort (steroid with a LOT less side effects than prednisone), Pentassa, Depression meds, Trammadol (pain), percocet (pain), azathioprine 75mg. Still, I am in pain almost daily. Every once in a while I have a good day. I am really having a hard time, mentally and physically. I have always been very active, early to rise and then go go go go...

I've been on Enbrel for about 5 years and it has been an extremely good medication for both the psoriasis and the psoriatic arthritis. My concern is what am I going to do now that my husband is retired and my health insurance won't cover the cost. Anyone taking humira and feel like they are sick coming down with a cold for a week after injection? Not a full blown cold but the start of one. I feel like this always and this is my 3rd dosage ( counting the starter kit), so I'm new to humira. I've noticed if I'm stressed, I'll even get a sore throat. I know humira suppresses your immune system but are you supposed to feel like you're coming down with something every injection or will this go away with time?

I was diagnosed with RA in 2001. I seem to have side effects with all the treatments my RA doctor has provided. I am allergic to methotrexate. I have problems with prednisone as well. I stopped taking all RA drugs two years ago but try to get by with over the counter meds. I recently discovered Norco 10/325 and it really helps although it is a narcotic. My question is this. I am thinking that you probably had a concurrent infection brewing when you Started Humira. Good Luck managing your AS, I appreciate how difficult it can be with mobility issues, and treating pain.

Hi. I am not on Humira but have talked to many AS patients who have had great success with it. Most of the AS folks I talk to are on enbrel, but they are comparable meds. I have been on Humira for psoriasis for approx. 9 mos. now. In the beginning I noticed that I as well had some swelling. I got reading alot about reactions etc. It did say that your body does contain more water which in turn would cause swelling. I myself found that after about 3mos. I had gained weight, not that I couldn't afford to but all the same I did find it a little odd. After reading so much on Humira, I dont' think I've missed a page, it is one of those side effects.

cost of how much this cost. I am Australian but currently in the US. The Surgeon I contacted told me the initial appointment would cost $300-$400 and then could not even give me a ball park figure on how much the actual procedure would cost. t know where in the world you live and will presume you are in USA. Here in Australia it cost me around $300 per treatment. I had two treatments done about 6 weeks apart You can't have it done sooner, it takes that long for the veins to collapse. The stockings are extremely expensive too, over $125 a pair. I don't know how much they would be in USA. I can't recommend anyone unless you live in Melbourne, Australia! Cheers!
