Avatar m tn Anyone have thoughts on promoting natural secretion of human growth hormone (hGH)?
Avatar m tn researchers generally agree that treatment with human growth hormone is safe and effective. In 1985, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a biosynthetic growth hormone http://www.hgfound.org/pub_growth.
Avatar f tn A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T4 and Free T3 levels as needed to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH. However, you may well need to address your low cortisol before even starting on thyroid med. I would suggest that you get tested for Both Free T4 and Free T3 each time you go in for tests. Also, you should get tested for Vitamin D, B12, ferritin, and DHEA.
Avatar m tn Panhypopituitarism is a lack of human growth hormone, which causes children to grow very slowly. It's treated with injections of human growth hormone. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune thyroid disease, in which the body see the thyroid as foreign and produces antibodies to attack and destroy it. Hashimoto's, itself, has no treatment; however, as the antibodies destroy the thyroid, it produces less and less hormones, causing the patient to become hypothyroid.
Avatar n tn She is definitely short and body weight is too high for her height, glad to see you saw an endo. She is gh deficient and this is a very good reason for central obesity(more weight around the tummy) and short stature!!! Do not feel overwhelmed, this is good news, she has a chance for treatment, the mri is done on all of my patients before treatment is started, the best websites to go over gh include magicfoundation.
Avatar f tn Would fluctuate from 0.05 to 34.6 within the same week. Recently had my human growth hormone level checked and it was too low. Does having your thyroid removed affect human growth hormone?
Avatar m tn If your daughter is 12, actually the treatments are not really cosmetic. growth hormone while the name says growth, actually has more functions and some are very subtle like sleep and some are more real like muscle growth and bone growth. The social stigma of being different at this age can also have lasting effects - so if she starts to lose a lot of height and gets behind her peers, she may lose friends. It sounds shallow - but it really hurts and it does happen. It is just that age group.
Avatar f tn (male,30) I have a history of low testosterone and low human growth hormone. Didnt have psudo tumor till I started the Growth Hormone treatments. Im thinking this was a very bad side effect. Do Your homework and see more docs. I let em put in a shunt, and havent been well since.
Avatar f tn Muscle Exercise is a great strength of the movement, the body will cause a lot of physical stress, produce large amounts of oxygen free radicals, this thing will destroy human cells, slowing the recovery, so that your immune system is reduced.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the tip on holding off on taking anything before the blood tests. Regarding my lab results, I recently received iron infusions which greatly increased my ferritin levels. I forget the exact numbers but they are above the reference range high limit. I did some digging and found my Reverse T3 scores. 15 ref range 9.2-24.1. My Vitamin D was 36, ref range 32-100. the nurse was like that's normal, I said uh, I don't think so.
Avatar n tn Gamma-aminobutyric acid also stimulates the anterior pituitary, leading to higher levels of Human Growth Hormone (HGH). Human Growth Hormone contributes significantly to muscle growth and also prevents the creation of fat cells. Moreover, HGH depletion is prevalent in adults over the age of 40 may be responsible for sleep disturbances or interupted sleeping patterns.
Avatar f tn Hair needs T4, because it lengthens the hair growth phase. [26] My Free T3 has been below range, mid-range, and over-range, but my hair was still not right at any of those levels. Only since adding T4 to get my Free T4 above mid-range (and lowering my desiccated dose) has both my hair texture and volume improved. It should be noted that hair loss is a symptom of both too much and too little thyroid.
Avatar n tn hI, my son now 15 underwent treatment and a bone marrow transplant for Neouroblastoma at the age of four. He's been on growth hormone treatment for 3 years now but with no result. He's only 144cm tall and his endocrinologist says there's no hope because his bones have finished growing and the only suggestion is the bone stretching surgery. Can anyone suggest anything else?
Avatar f tn In terms of growth hormone, prematurity and intraventricular hemorrhage are not generally associated with growth hormone deficiency unless there are problems with other hormones also. It is most likely that your granddaughter's small size is due to her former general illness and prematurity. Babies like her need a tremendous amount of nutrition to achieve "catch up" growth, which can sometimes be hard to obtain if she doesn't eat extremely well.
Avatar m tn I'm 16 years old and 5'7 I have not grown significantly for 3 years. My Dad is 5'10 and my mother 5'6. As said in the title my question is would injecting human growth hormone result in any additional height. I understand 5'7 isn't tiny but it is significantly smaller than my expected height (5'9 to 5'11) and like most kids my age i want to be as tall as possible.
Avatar f tn I just recently went for blood work for my hypothyroid. My tsh level was 0.57. My vitamin d was 33 and my calcium was 9.6. The one concerning issue I had was my pth being elevated at 86. I can't seem to find anything that indicates what would elevate a pth with everything else normal? My free thyroxine was also elevated at 1.85. My endocrine dr says that I most likely have a little growth on my parathyroid but isn't concerned. Should I get a second opinion? What does an elevated pth do?
1101956 tn?1257781705 I just wanted to share this with you guys so that you know this program works. I aslo wanted to know if anyone have been treated with Human growth Hormone while having lyme disease. I've been wanting to add this to my treatment so that I can improve even faster as I know HGH helps the immune system but I haven't found any information on the net saying that is safe to use for lyme disease sufferers. Please tell me what you think ?
Avatar f tn I should also mention that my sons bone age of his hand is that of a 12yr old and also his stim test was failed and he seems to have NO growth hormone at all. I have been told that his case is very rare and not many child have it to were they have no igf at all but after testing and testing he has none. I just feel that everyone said that the Increlex was like the best thing and now that has been ruled out as a medication that we can use.
