424839 tn?1268186246 my latest back x ray for some reason the dr's still want me taqking the pain killers saying that I must still be in alot of pain
Avatar f tn I have extensive literature on the effects of radiation on human tissue. I worked for a time as an x-ray tech. The answer to your question is yes. As least a qualified yes. This is not necessarily the cause, but it is a possible cause. The problem is worse because many machines (especially those in doctor's offices) have not been calibrated and the dose is far in excess of that necessary for the film.
Avatar n tn The issue of gas in the bowel, as brought up by doctornee, can also create difficulties. The hospital staff know this, but remember that timely information is necessary, because x-rays are often requested as a means of differential diagnosis of life-threatening injuries. Hospitals generally require an x-ray of the chest, but feel free to refuse this if you have come in for hospitalization for a broken foot, for example.
Avatar f tn I went to the clinic and they did an X-ray. They said here were no breaks or fractures but said I had smashed it really bad. I was on crutches for several days. The bruising has gone away and the swelling has too for he most part. After I'm on my feet for a long period of time the foot will swell. I also have a round knot or bump about the size of a marble that seems attached to the bone. That place has started itching and is still super sore.
Avatar f tn I have a dental appointment tomorrow and I know they may try to give me an x-ray. I'm 16 weeks now and this is my first pregnancy. I went to the dentist earlier this year and they didn't want to do an x-ray because I was in my 1st trimester. Is it really safe to have one done now?
Avatar n tn I have a daughter who doesn't live with me and she has lice will it show up in an x-ray
Avatar f tn I think the difference is that an abdominal X-ray would expose the fetus to X-rays directly...I'm assuming your abdomen was shielded in your foot X-rays because you knew you were pregnant. I had a chest X-ray to check my lungs late in the second trimester, but they double-shielded me, and yeah the baby seems fine. My X-ray tech said she worked there while she was pregnant, but always shielded herself from X-rays and her son was healthy and strong.
Avatar f tn He told me there is disc degeneration in L5-S1 vertebraes. I also underwent X-ray for my knees and foot. My knee x-ray states I have arthritis and my foot x-ray states I have bilateral plantar fasciitis. My questions are: 1) Does sacroiliitis always show in the x-ray? 2) Is sacroilitis fully curable? 3) Is plantar fasciitis connected with spondyloarthritis?
Avatar n tn Hi guys, quick question can anyone please look at my X-ray and advise if i need surgery, I dont want problems in the future.
Avatar f tn Go for an X-ray. Take rest have ice packs and some anti inflammatory drugs. With diagnosis you should have treatment near an orthopaedician. Take care!
Avatar f tn I went to my family physician today and he ordered an x-ray. The lump also does not move. The x-ray did not show anything. So i guess my question would be... What could this ? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn This came up with bruising and swelling on the side of my foot just below the big toe. I had it x rayed and nothing came up. It is still swollen and bruising still comes up now. Anyone have any idea what this could be other then a bruised bone. It looks like I have a bunion on my foot. Also when I am sat down for a period of time and go to walk it hurts even more but i can walk normally fine pain free at other times....
Avatar n tn I fell off of a platform, which is about 6 feet high. Landed on my left foot and right heel. It hurt immediately and has hurt since (it's now the third day after the injury). It's getting slightly better every day - meaning that I am able to put more and more weight on it. There is slight bruising on the outside / right side of my right foot. No bruising on the back of the heel, the bottom, or the left. There was very little bruising around the ankle, but there is none now.
Avatar m tn First thing you need to do is get an X-Ray to make sure you haven't broken any bones. Once that is done, a determination can be done as to the treatment course.
Avatar m tn I would get an x-ray to rule out a stress fracture or bone tumor. People still can walk on the foot with a stress fracture.
6711838 tn?1405009844 I still assist and take X-rays with this baby also, the way they make X-ray machines now days, u get more radiation from the sun.. Good lick and Congrats!!
Avatar f tn I have had numerous radiologists state different opinions on my foot X-ray. I'm 37 and recently rolled my foot, I was told that I fractured one of the sesamoid bones in half and also fractured the base of the fifth metatarsal. It is completely separated.
Avatar m tn On March 1, 2011, I had an X-ray of my right foot. On June 29, 2011, I had an X-ray of my right shoulder. I then had two X-rays of my left ankle on July 22, 2011 and July 25, 2011 after a sprain. 1.) Is there any possibility that the radiation exposure from these X-rays could have caused my HIV test results to be a false negative? The last X-ray on July 25, 2011 was only 11 days before I was tested for HIV. 2.) Do I have any reason to worry at all? 3.) Should I be re-tested for HIV?
