foot

Avatar m tn s a weak, yet sharp pain especially when i stretch my foot. The pain becomes exponentially pronounced depending on how much i walk/run. Please see diagram regarding where exactly the pain is. Thank you. just got injured while playing basketball, collided into another guy, immediately felt a sharp pain in the sole of my foot, and it's been like that ever since.
Avatar f tn My friend snapped both perineal tendons in his right foot in June. Unfotunately when they went in to repair they were only able to re-attach one. He has gone through months of physical therapy and still has pain and difficulty with that ankle. Now his left foot seems to be showing the extra stress. He has pain on and off in that foot/ankle and the little toe seems to be turning outward. He has to go for a functional capacity test next week (work injury-workers comp). Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn yes... the tendons...but not likely the nerves.
Avatar f tn This is due to the constant irritation of you nerves and tendons in your foot, while standing & walking. The whole body weight is supported by foot and all the tendons of the leg muscles are inserted in your leg bones and with this fracture and the screws and all the foreign bodies inserted inside you are having constant irritation with standing/walking etc.
Avatar n tn Hi, For the last week or so, i get this sudden sharp and pulsating pain in my foot, the inner arch area (left feet). I looked at a foot muscle diagram to identify the area and it looks like the abductor hallucis area where the pain is located. The pain hits suddenly without warning, lasts for 5-10 seconds. Or comes and goes about twice or thrice in a minute.. and then nothing for hours or even days. But its happening once a day at least for the last three days. The occurrence has no pattern.
Avatar n tn I have a discoloration to the skin on top of my feet. I tore tendons in my ankles more than 2 years ago. Now my feet are colored green right below my ankle joint. What would cause this?
Avatar m tn It also may be that something as simple as orthopedic arches which you wear in your shoes could solve your problem. Since I think that this is more than just a "foot" problem, I would go see an orthopedic doctor. A foot doctor could tell you if arch supports are needed.
280234 tn?1532986249 Hi, I'm a 29 year old female who found a small lump on the outside of my right foot about an inch under my ankle a few months ago. The lump is about 1 cm in size. The lump is kinda boney, and seems to transilluminate with a flashlight. Following your advice from a previous post, I recently seen a local orthopedic surgeon about it. In my medical records the doctor's diagnosis states: "No problems with the peroneal tendons seen.
Avatar m tn About 3 hrs later my ankle had swollen to double the size with the ankle tendons becoming very tight. The swelling has now recindered but the tendons in my ankle are very sore and I struggle to put weight on it. It's as if I have damaged the tendons in a sports injury but I haven't. As anyone got any suggestions what the cause and cure could be. Thanks.
Avatar f tn There is a pressure point on your foot that can enduce conyractions and things. Learned it in nail tech school. Google it, it should pull up a diagram.
Avatar n tn has said her tendons are swolen and prescribed her some tylenol with codine. But they have not helped. Her foot is only more swollen now and more pain. Can anyone tell me if they have experienced this and what I can do to help.
Avatar n tn I have just gotten drop foot in the last month and also had a discetomy of L4 and L5. I am wondering how long will I be like this? Before the foot dropped Ihad a pain that ran from my knee to my ankle I didnt get much sleep during the night because of the pain. I was working extremely hard and for nearly 12 hours a day most days.
Avatar m tn I have had a good amount of tendon pain mostly in left achilles and in tendons on top and bottom of arch of foot as well as some heel and knee pain. Again, like I said primarily left side. The achilles pain has subsided some, most of the pain and discomfort now is in the foot. I have taken quinolones a few times in the past (Cipro) with either no pain or some pain that subsided quickly at or shortly after end of course (same with left leg/foot, I think).
Avatar f tn I have not begun to walk yet, but I do stand and take a few steps on my own to test things out. Almost immediately my foot balloons in size. The tendons are so so tight that I cannot imagine how or when I will be able to walk. Has anyone experienced this? Is this normal? My most recent post op revealed that the bones are in perfect place now, and nearly healed. He was very pleased and has given me the green light for PT, saying that they will assist in the desensitization of my foot.

Avatar f tn I had surgery performed by a podiatrist to remove the sesamoid bone on the bottom ball area of my left foot. The podiatrist said he removed a nerve during surgery and consequently I have loss of feeling in the ball of my foot going up to my big toe (entire toe) and half of my second toe. The loss of feeling is partial, and the area of the incision scar is hyper-sensitive. Bottom line- bad result I have subsequently changed care to an ortho doctor specializing in the foot.
Avatar n tn Torn ligaments and a severe sprain can sometimes present with more swelling, hurt worse and take even longer to completely heal. If you tear tendons, the foot may never be completely the same. If it is any consolation, It took about 2 years but now my foot and ankle feel completely normal. It will probably just take time. In the mean time to reduce swelling if there is any take ibuprofen or any other NSAID once a day to reduce swelling.
Avatar f tn The bruising seems to originate slightly proximal to the fracture site and runs along the peroneous tendons down to the base of my 5th metatarsal. I also have bruising at the base of my 4th digit and the medial aspect of the calcaneus. I want to know if this is at all normal. The only imaging that has been done is x-rays of my ankle, and the last ones were taken over the summer. No rads of my foot and no MRI or CT.
1947762 tn?1424554829 Hi, I dropped a wood walking cane on my foot 6 days ago, got xray and said I have a soft tissue crack , what is a soft tissue crack? siad if not better in 2 weeks go to my bone Dr!
Avatar n tn Hi ksgirl22, how are you doing? How is your foot pain? Is it a doctor who had asked you to get MRI foot and have you been followed up? "A ganglion is a swelling that is filled with thick jelly like material. They usually occur on the back of the wrist but they do occur near other joints or near tendons (like in your case where it is in your foot). They usually occur in young adults. It is not known why they occur". For more details refer: http://www.surgerydoor.co.uk/so/detail2.asp?
Avatar m tn At the age of 75 how long will it take to regenerate the cells of a broken bone in a foot?
Avatar m tn I also forgot to add that during the dr visit, X-rays were taken both from the top and side of the foot, and the doctor showed them to me and said there were no fractures of any kind, and that all the bones looked perfectly healthy. The pain is most severe when taking a stop forward. On the motion during normal walking where the heel is being lifted, the pain in my foot is excruciating and that motion can't be continued, so this is why I must walk on the side of my foot..
1294547 tn?1275655777 You can look up the definition, but it involves the tendons on the bottom of the foot where they attach to the heel and follows the arch of your foot. The areas where they attach get microscopic tears when you stand up after being off your feet for any length of time(the longer you are off your feet, the worse the pain when you stand back up again).
Avatar n tn Hi Dixy, First you have to remember its not just tendons but all your nerves run under your foot, but does sound like a bruised tendon, the best thing is ice it and take it easy.
579469 tn?1311705550 Plus yesterday I was diagnosed with some foot problems, including a fracture in my left foot. Now my foot is all bandaged up and I have to hobble around house. (The fun never stops.) For those of you still trying to manage pain relief w/o opiates, what works for you now? Thanks.
