First, I would see a podiatrist. I have done a Google search on it, and folks that have this usually have seen a doctor to rule out anything serious. One comment I noticed was that it could be foot rot. You can't pass it on or catch it, it runs in your family, normally the males. The article went on to say to wear only leather shoes no trainers unless training. Change socks regularly only wear shoes for one 24hr period and then use a new pair and rotate them.

He could have a split in the nail (like when a human breaks a nail down into the quick) and it's very painful for him. He could also have something stuck in the pad that is so small that you can't see it. I had a dog that had a minute piece of glass stuck in his pad and he was 3-legged lame until the vet did actual surgery to remove the glass. I wouldn't give it even a few more days. If he is still tender on it tomorrow I would call the bet by tomorrow afternoon.

A pain relief may help in the short run, I think you have to go with a dog specific pain med, not aspirin...but I could be worng on that.

Both my husband and I experience crawly mites on our face and hair - mostly at night. We have no acne, but both our torsos erupted in itchy dermatitis, which looked like bites, but weren't. my denist said that it should only be painful for 3-4 days he prescribed me strong antibiotics.. is this normal and should i go some where to get further treatment or return to my denist??????
Your young kitty can eat regular cat chow, but your senior kitty should be on a senior cat chow. Older cats need a little different nutrition than young cats so you should definitely feed a "senior" food to the older kitty.
I have always fed my cat dry food only. He vomits wet food. He also vomits many of the "expensive" dry food, so I feed him Friskies Indoor Cat Chow lol - he loves it and does not vomit it up!
Ringworm takes weeks to respond to treatment, so that may be why it was not helping. It can be a combination issue as well. So you all can get treated - at least have one of the affected get a culture. ie you at your doctor/dermatologist or your friend or the cat at the veterinarian. Ensure a sore that has not been treated with anything at all gets cultured or you may get false or partial results and then have poor success with treatment or recurrence.
