Avatar m tn At the age of 75 how long will it take to regenerate the cells of a broken bone in a foot?
Avatar f tn , you will find nice tutorials addressing your question. However, it will be necessary for you to have studied human anatomy and physiology even to begin to get a grip on it. The reason is that this is highly technical stuff that is almost impossible to explain to people without some specialized education. At the bottom of your ekg report, there should be some kind of brief summary describing your heart's health in fairly plain English.
Avatar f tn If you wake out of sleep at night, 'adrenal surges'--even though the adrenals are the fashionable gland of the hour and you can read about them in supermarket checkout lines everywhere--are the least likely cause. The most likely causes are sleep phase disruption due to depression or anxiety (extremely common), or nocturnal panic attacks. You can google these terms.
Avatar m tn was that the invitro study or a human study?unfortunately no human study started that i know of although they were on schedule since 2008-2009 so this makes me suspicious......
Avatar m tn He could have a split in the nail (like when a human breaks a nail down into the quick) and it's very painful for him. He could also have something stuck in the pad that is so small that you can't see it. I had a dog that had a minute piece of glass stuck in his pad and he was 3-legged lame until the vet did actual surgery to remove the glass. I wouldn't give it even a few more days. If he is still tender on it tomorrow I would call the bet by tomorrow afternoon.
Avatar f tn First of all, never give an animal any medication that is not prescribed by your vet. Some human medicines can make animals very sick or even kill them. Go to the vet, please.
Avatar f tn Threshold is point at which you generate an action potential...below it there is no response and anything above it produces a response. The response is "all-or-none", that is an action potential is what is generated. If I remember my physiology and understand your question... a delay in reaching threshold will increase the time in-between the action potentials generated thereby reducing their frequency. Hope this make sense.
Avatar m tn is NOT a complication of cataract surgery. It occurs due to the continuance of normal human lens physiology. The risk associated with yag capsulotomy are small but will vary from person to person depending on pre-operative degree of myopia, whether there is a family history of retinal detachment or retinal pathology such as lattice degeneration. You should discuss this with your surgeon.
Avatar f tn my husband can eat shrimp, but if I did I would be nauseated and vomiting after eating them. PLAIN AND SIMPLE: I JUST DON"T EAT THEM.
Avatar f tn My retinal specialist has been checking my epiretinal membrane every 2 months since last fall. The membrane seems to be very slowly lifting back, and we’re continuing to monitor it. Here's my question: I often need chiropractic treatments and massage therapy for a neck problem. Does lying facedown on a head cradle, with some amount of pressure on my eyeballs, have an adverse effect on the ERM attempting to pull itself off? Am I pressing the ERM back down into the retina?
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, reducing adrenaline production is a chemical process that would cause multiple problems for the human physiology. However, reducing stress and reducing the bodies REACTION to adrenaline is possible. That's what beta blockers do. They inhibit the adrenaline receptors in cardiac/muscle cells. This is one reason why they produce GENERAL sleepiness...the adrenaline is blocked in more than just the heart!!!! As for the stress...
Avatar m tn I am 26.5yrs old and I used steroids when I was 19 and a half till I was 22. I have had a bit testicular atrophy and I have noticed a little bit of lack of firmness and want of sex. Also energy levels have been low. My bro n law is 32 and has the same issues without the steroid use. He was prescribed to use .4cc's of testosterone cypionate once a week. I have followed in his foot steps and went to a urologist and got my testosterone checked. He said next appt.
Avatar f tn Hi All, I'm female, 37, and been living in Phoenix for 4 years. Diagnosed vitD deficient this September (also borderline anemic; all other levels normal) at the student health center. Level was 14 with minimum level 30. Symptoms were fatigue for no reason, extreme difficulty concentrating, and feeling dizzy. Prescribed 50,000 units D2 per week for 14 weeks; I'm about halfway thru. Dizzyness is gone and fatigue / confusion improved right away upon taking prescription.
Avatar n tn Verrucas are Warts that appear on the foot, that much I know. The scientific name for the virus is the Human Papilloma Virus which I think comes in about 60 varieties affecting the vaginal, oral and other areas and that it can take several months, since infection, for the verruca to develop, with no visible signs. She might well have an infection and not know about it; because it can take anything up to 20 months to develop.
Avatar m tn We found that Δ(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ(9)-THC, the main active component of Cannabis sativa) and JWH-015 (a cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB(2)) cannabinoid receptor-selective agonist) reduced the viability of the human HCC cell lines HepG2 (human hepatocellular liver carcinoma cell line) and HuH-7 (hepatocellular carcinoma cells), an effect that relied on the stimulation of CB(2) receptor.
231441 tn?1333892766 If it is psychogenic regional pain, I would then consult a mental health specialist. Dr. Sarno writes about it and back pain, but it is basically the same physiology anywhere in the body.
Avatar n tn I got in a fight with the ice last week and the ice won! My foot went one direction, but my knee went another. Just before I hit the ground, I felt and HEARD a 'pop'! My MRI report reads: "The menisci and cruciate ligaments are intact. High grade proximal medial collateral ligament sprain. The medial retinaculum is nearly completely torn from its femoral attachment. Articular cartilage ulcer at the medial patellar facet.
Avatar f tn I have this clear skin covered pocket on the ball of my foot it's been there for months we thought it was a wart and we went to the health center to have it frozen which they did well come to find out it was not a wart and it was a human hair caused from me cutting hair for work shoved straight up into my footI have the worst feet in history at least it feels like some days from the arch to the ball of my foot it hurts extremely and is very sensitive to the touch.
Avatar m tn s the public toilet in an office; Normally, I wear shoes, but that day my foot injures--wound from my nail cuts my finger. The wound doesn't pass for a long time; just 1.30hr-2hr. So I walk and use the toilet with my foot in socks -- no shoes at all. The problem is I see many drops of water on the floor; I'm worried it may be the drop of blood, or water contained blood (of the two people who are hiv positive because they use the same toilet as I use.
Avatar m tn I know this post is almost a year old but perhaps I can offer some help . . . I'm a grad student studying human physiology and I also have hip anteversion (internal femoral torsion) although not as severe as either your wife's or lesleyann59's. I also have internal rotation of my arms and shoulders and posterior tilt of my rib cage, and all of these issues are commonly seen together.
